I agree with siouxnami. Fabian is a grinder who has an offensive upside. Leave him where he is. We just need to find someone to ride the other wing/center position. Fabian and Prpich are a good pair, but the third? I'd like it to be Kaip but something's just not right with Rylan. As for a low penalty game, I'll believe that when I see it. Who knows who we'll get to officiate and that usually tells us how many penalties to expect. Randy Schmidt, Scott Zelkin, Don Adam = High penalty count Derek Shepherd, Marco Hunt, Mason, Albers = Variable Campion = Lower generally.

So now the logo is denying the NA people the opportunity to succeed? The Fighting Irish, by that logic, has long denied the Irish the opportunity to get out of the green color scheme, the love of shamrocks, and most importantly, the rep of being drunken brawlers because a silly cartoon leprachaun, as apart from a realistic portrayal by a Native American mind you, has his fists up ready to fight wearing all green and perhaps a shamrock on the hat? Great logic. Keep trying though. Still waiting for that reason, by the way.

Jordan isn't going anywhere. I think TH is half right though. I do believe some pro team will sign him, even if that pro team is in the AHL. However, it will be after he graduates. I read somewhere that goaltenders take the longest to develop. Therefore, why rush to pay an undrafted goaltender when you can get an extra year of development free of charge so to speak? I wouldn't doubt that he'll get signed, it just won't be until he plays his last game as a senior. And Thiessen would fit right in with UND goaltenders. At 5'11", he wouldn't be breaking any height rules like Cheverie

Any insight to which end? Thanks for all the insight from the meeting. One thing is for certain: Some season ticket holders are going to be pissed. Plus, the seating arrangement is going to be tricky as there are more seats in the corners and ends than there are in the current seating arrangement. How they do it will be interesting.

Thanks PCM. A lot of good insight. Hak was right on. We need everyone contributing offensively. Last year it seemed like when the 4th line scored, we never lost. If we can roll 4 lines and all 4 are effective, then the series will be a good one for the Sioux. Defensively Jones has really stepped up his game. I kindof feel like Jones' year was a lot like Smaby's freshman campaign without the sitting out a game. Smaby started out shaky but in late January, he started to REALLY play well. In that respect, Jones is ahead of the curve. I'm throwing down the gauntlet to Radke and Porter to step up and make things happen this weekend. I'm also calling for Prpich to stop making stupid penalties.

I think this is far better than what I anticipated. The question is: Do we (the students) lose any seats from what we had before? The only thing the new seating arrangement does is take the students away from the penalty boxes, but that's really the only downside to the move provided the corners they are talking about is the ones that the Sioux shoot twice a game. Honestly, I've sait in the corner 2 rows from the glass on the side of the rink where the Sioux only shoot once and it's not that great of a seat, hence why it is important to sit where the opponent goaltender is 2 periods of the game.

With the comments you make around here, it must have been a rare event to have missed!

I'm only concerned about how the problem is going to be solved and what with the student lose. Curbing profanity and the standing issue are relatively weak compared to losing everything. I really think that standing should be allowed in certain cases but, if I were still a student, I'd do ABSOLUTELY anything possible to keep the lower bowl seats.

Why not? It's not like the NCAAs will return to the REA any time soon but that XCel Energy Center is mighty fine (which it is).... XCel Energy Center will host the regionals 90 percent of the time in the future unless Milwaukee bids for it. Or are there any other "neutral" sites?

When has the GOVERNING bodies of the Sioux tribes passed such resolution? All I know of is a United Tribal Council passing one. Last time I checked, they aren't a governing body. Still waiting.
-
Sorry for the tangent PCM. I just thought that the way the Senators were playing is really how the Sioux should play, especially when we come across a team that is all defense and not a lot of anything else. I just hope the SIoux come out and play two solid games. I predicted a split because, right now, it's been quite a while since we have put together two good games. I hope for a sweep, though.

Not really. He's more of a goal scorer..

Negativity, no. But I remember the criticism about certain players that have gone elsewhere and I just don't want to have any player that could fit that mold on our team. I think Aaron Marvin is a good talent who would do well on this team. As for size, 6'2" is the tallest we've gotten at forward. 6'3" listed on a roster card for UND, most people think "There's another defenseman for you."

I was agreeing with Goon! The Wild has an ownership that thinks Minnesotans are suckers, a GM that thinks that he can get Modano or Forsberg type talent for the price of say.... Alex Henry's contract, and a coach whose defensive prowess isn't questionable, but whose offensive ideas would have done him good... what... 11 years ago? I like Lemaire and, to a certain extent, the Wild's mediocrity isn't his fault. After all, he has to play with the players the GM gives him. Not Lemaire's fault that they would be one of three things on an offensive powerhouse like Ottawa: 1. 2nd to 4th liners (2nd liners would be Gaborik, Mitchell (second pairing), and Rolston) 2. healthy scratches 3. AHL affiliate/cut/trade bait Might I remind you all that Modano WANTED to come back to Minnesota to finish his career? They said no because he was too pricey. Good grief. The Wild will NEVER win a Stanley Cup with the front office it has now. Guaranteed. Yes, Goon, I think Boston even has a better shot than Minnesota. Why? Because the worse Boston gets, the more push for a change there will be. With change comes improvement. Minnesota will always be hovering right below the cutoff point to the playoffs in an area known as "mediocrity." They aren't good, but they aren't cellar dwellars. There will be no push for improvement and, hence, will never hoist the Cup. EDIT: One thing to add: As a Cubs fan, we are eternally hopeful that there will be a change and that the ownership and the GM will bring in real talent to take us to the World Series. Yes, it's simple, plain jane, denial.

Phil will get his share of playing time. I just don't think Phil will be #1 until Jordan graduates. After that, I'm sure Phil will be #1. Until then, Hak will stay with the hot hand. If it is Phil, it's Phil. If it is Jordan, it's Jordan. I like the fact that both Phil and Jordan have won accolades.

Not entirely no, but more and more enforcers aren't sticking with the big club. Many have either changed their game or stepped up other parts of it to stick. In an unrelated note: Jason Blake had an assist in tonight's 2-1 victory over the Blackhawks. He also had a penalty.

You know, we can't see the big picture because we've yet to be told how changing the nickname is going to solve the problems the NA people face. We're still waiting for one good reason to change the name. Right now the reason is: "To make up for things that happened to us in the past." I'm all for recognizing the ills of past society, but I am not apt to pay the consequences for people I've never met before, never seen in my life, nor lived before I did. It's in the past. It says in the past. This is NOW. Since EVERY example cited about abuse has happened minimum of 15 years in the past, I'm STILL waiting for examples to even define "RECENTLY" unless you are speaking scientifically, where, to archaeologists, 15 years ago was like yesterday in the timeline of World history.

Inconsistent? Such a vague term. This could mean that he may have work ethic issues, or he's prone to being very good when he's on and very bad when he's off... In any case, he's listed at 6'3" 180!!! When's the last time we've had a FORWARD with that kind of size?
-
These rankings mean nothing. ISS's rankings had Finley in upper to mid 2nd round, Oshie 2nd round, Lee 5-7 slots later than he was drafted.. Wheeler IIRC was supposed to be like 29th to 31st overall when he was in his draft year. The only ranking that matters is the one formed on draft day.

Sorry, but I don't respect Domi at all. I don't care how good of a fighter he is. If he can't contribute offensively or defensively, then what the hell is he doing taking up a roster spot? I think the role of an enforcer needs to be changed entirely or done away with completely. A team needs to score goals and keep the opponents from scoring. Those are the top two priorities. I don't see having a good fighter on the team as even being in the top 5 most necessary things an NHL team needs. Scott Parker, Tie Domi, and the like are nothings. People that should be in the WWE and not in hockey. There ARE enforcers out there that contribute. Scott Stevens for quite a while would drop the gloves and be a bruiser, yet he was also extremely effective defensively and, to a certain point, offensively. If you aren't good enough to play to the 1 and/or 2 top reasons, you're not NHL material, IMO. Period. When's the last time Domi has been considered a valuable asset for reasons OTHER than his fighting skills? I thought not.

Stop criticising the Risenbrough (sp?) way! The Wild put a product on the ice that maximizes on profit with marginal value to consumers. Like the Chicago Cubs do year in and year out. Sure, every now and then they'll make a run and excite the masses like the Wild did a few years back, the Vikes did in 1998, and the Cubs did in what... 2001? But in the end it is the marginal talent and the lackluster product that comes back to hit you square in the face. The Wild had the best opportunity to reap the value in what possibly was the best offseason for scoring talent in the history of the NHL and they signed Todd White and Brian Rolston as their "top notch" acquisitions. Well, Rolston is panning out. But White has never been a scoring phenom, just a really good role player. IMO, this Wild team is a bust. Fire the GM and get someone in there that actually wants to put a product on the ice that wins games. I'd try to woo the GM of the Senators to Minny.
-
Not Sioux related, but if you want to see what we need to do, turn on FSN right now and watch the Senators. They are making the Wild look like a bantam team. But they pass well, shoot and crash the net. Dany Heatley can play. Also, watch the Wild. There's areason they are in last place in their conference.

Pardon my ignorance, but what was the defensive pairings as of late?

The thing I see is this: It seems to be the attitude that the Bina sign makes us even with the Hirsch sign. Gee, that makes a lot of sense. A few classless Sioux fans held this sign, sure, so that justifies your fans returning the behavior? RIIIIGHT. So let me put it this way: If you spend time here trying to justify the Bina sign by using the classless Hirsch situation, then that makes you classless yourself. Even if you say that the Bina sign was classless to begin with. THERE IS NO JUSTIFICATION for making fun of a person who gets a broken neck!!!! NONE!!!! And there is no justification for justifying one classless action to make up for another classless action. I am in NO mood to listen to people rationalize the Bina sign.

Don't forget that if you are a Liberal, you are "un American" But yeah, right on with this comment.
