With all due respect, Admin dude, but GK and to a somewhat lesser extent, KtF have been attacking posters on this board for weeks on end and they've avoided suspension. It's all his following can do right now is name call. I'm tired of it. If GK has a valid point, he's yet to state it.

I don't know, but if he doesn't play, I'm picking tOSU to win.

Careful again. Don't want to call RR and South the two teams to beat until the tourney is actually here. After all, those two schools aren't the top two teams in the state yet. PS. Or can I cut the bull**** and call Red River and South the top two teams in the state?

PCM- I refer you to the conversation I had with Sioux-cia a while back. Notice in this thread how GK simply came on this thread and made veiled threats to you're livelihood? That's like calling people names. It is just as effective. So, GK came onto the thread already admitting defeat and making a reference to Columbus was his only way of trying to make a comeback. In this issue, at least, the comeback is simply to oppose us because he doesn't like us rather than any real objection to the issue in the article. After all, they changed their name and dropped their logo (and mascot if they had one). GK has nothing left to complain about in this case.

Jason Blake with 2 goals tonight vs. Washington. Recap

Yeah. You're right. Neither genre isn't known for much style, but I don't see much fans of hair bands dressing in spandex, though I've seen far too much of the mullet at the Ralph.

The Warroad goaltender (Potts) is doing a great job right now. Marvin is all over the place and, thus far, has 2 assists (helped on both goals they've scored). FSN guys are raving about him. EDIT: Make that 3 assists. As well as a short handed breakaway attempt and a drawn penalty. He's really doing everything. We need to get this guy. EDIT2: Marvin gets an empty netter after picking the Roseau player's pocket. 1G 3A for the night.

Sic- Maybe so, but I'll tell you what: When I think of country music, I think of outragous and outlandish wardrobes, 50 pound belt buckles, NASCAR, and livestock doing various different things (from farm behaviors to rodeos and so on). "I like it, I love it" by Tim McGraw is a song I NEVER want to hear again. EVER. The NFL played the song to death and then, as it laid dead, kicked it repeatedly. It would be something if the song didn't suck in the first place. No country music even if there is a lot more rock influence than there used to be.

That's what I said when he committed But yeah, that's what he's going to be PLUS, he has the possibility to bring a kind of depth in character the Sioux could need. Lee Marvin, according to what I have heard, is a valuable asset because of his attitude. Like Jake Brandt was last year. Genoway could (he may not) be that kind of a player. It's always a bonus to have a player who can play two positions, even though Genoway is quite undersized as a defenseman. EDIT: Here are some pictures of various BCHL players but mainly has one of Genoway and one of Zajac.

Correct. And the problem is, there may not be enough veterans to step up.

I met Troy Murray last year at the Ralph and, when I asked if he'd lace em up for an intramurals UND team, he said "sure" Someone might want to see if he's available

You know, he IS a sniper.

tnt's right. I have been very critical on the offense this past series because 1 goal a game doesn't cut it. Giving up 2 goals a game isn't good, but it isn't bad either. I think if we could have scored 2 goals a game this weekend, we would have takent three points.
-
True. But that doesn't mean you go sissy. It needs to be upbeat, somewhat edgy, but clean. Van Halen was a good example with Right Here Right now. Yeah, it's overplayed. Yeah, the song kinda stinks, but it fits the bill and I accept that. Let's face it, hair bands really do fit the bill nicely.

Yeah. Not sure which blocks don't have a Subway on it already Ok, the restaurant I'd LOVE to see in Grand Forks is Doolittle's. Aviation town, aviation themed restaurant. PLUS the food is Oh My Parise good. Also, more ethnic food would be a plus such as: 1. Mexican food that doesn't suck. I mean, Mexican Village and Paradisos are HARDLY decent mexican food. 2. Cuban food is MUY Excellente!!! It is also MUY Improbable (whatever the spanish word for that is) 3. A Thai restaurant. One just opened in Moorhead, MN and OH MY PARISE it is good (if you don't mind that the service is slower than molasses). 4. American ethnic. Yup, I'm talking about BBQ. Yeah, you could go commercial such as Famous Dave's, but maybe a place that is more authentic. Non Restaurants: 1. A decent movie theater (I guess one is on the way but still... it ISN'T there yet)

PCM.... clouding the issue again... NOT helpful

Oh please! You don't know what it is like to hear music that is wholly inappropriate for a sports venue. Let's try what... 2 years ago? UND Football at the Alerus? Pride of the North Band belting out a stirring rendition of Cheryl Crow's "Soak in the Sun." And yes, it did even appear at the hockey game once. Want more? At the Ralph before warm ups, I've heard several country songs like "Darlene" by Dolly Parton and all. How about Hootie and the Blowfish? REM? Counting Crows? PLEASE! "Welcome to the Jungle" is a classic for sports. I don't like GNR but I will acknowledge its rightful place at the hockey arena.

Which Francis do you mean? Francis Ford Coppola? Francis a la the children's books by Hoban? Ron Francis formerly of the Carolina Hurricanes? Steve Francis (I think that's his name) of bounceyball fame? You are very vague

And this is the problem that Buning now faces. Move the students to the side we shoot twice in and piss off the season ticket holders there, move the students to the side we shoot once and piss off both the students and the season ticket holders who sit there, or leave them where they are and piss off the season ticket holders that sit in the sections adjacent to the current student section and the suite holders that sit behind the students. There are two things evident here: 1. THANK PARISE I'm not Buning. 2. Everyone thinks the students need to be under control but putting them in a place that could provide said control is good only if it "isn't where I sit currently." So, the question is: What in Parise's name do you think Buning should do? He's SCREWED! By the way- If Buning knew the full extent of this issue before he accepted the job, do you think he'd've still accepted this position?
-
Ah. Well both Lee and Chorney need to work on their offensive game, that much is true. Lee takes FOREVER to get a shot off. His shot is so good, but the goaltender and D have plenty of time to adjust before he gets the shot off. Chorney needs to back off of the power a little bit so he can get more control. All of his shots are really hard, but they go high or wide all the time.
-
Most of the time, you're right. But the first two lines are damaging the way they are if they figure out how to get consistent scoring pressure.
-
This isn't the time for the Gophers to get injury problems. But hey, even with Guyer and Chucko out (hypothetically), and Irman not playing 100%, you'd still play better than the Badgers. Sheesh. Lose a goaltender, lose the ability to win. Talk about a sheep in wolf clothing.

Agreed and agreed. I talked via email with Mr. Buning and he seems like a quality guy. What little feedback I got about the meeting seems like he's genuinely wishing to resolve this issue as best he can with the students in mind. Roger Thomas, though a nice guy and an interesting person to hold a conversation with, didn't seem to really put an emphasis on what the students wanted. He seemed to hold onto the punitive side of things and, though he was willing to work with the students, he didn't hold them as partners in the issue. I would HIGHLY suggest that students take a step back and realize that this is their BEST chance to come to a resolution that is as good as it could be for all involved. Sioux-cia is right. Mr. Buning has been placed in a position that is basically a lose-lose scenario: appease the public, piss off the students. Appease the students, piss off the public. Both, according to what he said, are unappealing to him. He wants the middle ground. If you are willing to compromise, you will win. I'm certain of this.

Don't know. Chorney and Lee were pretty solid last weekend and Toews and Oshie were the only two goal scorers.

That was the only school we know of. There may be others he is interested in he hasn't disclosed yet.
