Jones rage blackout? He's no rookie. He should know that the officials aren't really interested in the initial hit or act, they only care about the retaliation. By the way, call me absolutely stunned when Youds was called for Hitting after the whistle. I didn't even know that WCHA officials even knew the rule. And yeah, I know that if they did, UND would have gotten called a few times in the past.

Yeah, that's what I meant. As for Blood and Malone's penalties... I see the point on Blood, but he's done a great job. A few times in previous games, it was just a "teaching game" for WCHA officials to teach Blood a few things. They've called games tight on teams and even individual players in the past just to teach them a lesson. It happened with Matt Greene and Mike Commodore. IIRC it happened to Matt DeMarchi as well. It doesn't excuse Blood's penalties, but I wouldn't go out of my way to force him to change. IMO, Blood has been right there as one of our best D on the ice. As for Malone, HE is the problem when it comes to bad penalties. He's too emotional. He does run his mouth. There is a way to do it (See Hextall, Brett) and there's not a way to do it. He's not been doing it right lately. The penalty he took last night was simply unacceptable. And the 10 minute misconducts he's taken inexcusable. If it weren't for injuries, I'd bench him one game just to get the message across. Zajac has done a fantastic job of curbing his emotion and playing a physical, yet effective game. I wonder if something could be done to help Malone change that aspect of his game?

I'd rather root for "Neverwas" (See Cubs, Chicago and yeah, 1908 is dead and buried) than pretenders (NY Giants) and wannabes (Cowboys). Yeah, I realize that it's hard to be a wannabe when the Cowboys can point to the Aikman and Charles Haley years. Heck, they can point out that the Vikings helped the Cowboys immeasurably by trading to the Cowboys the draft pick that got them Emmitt Smith and the role the Vikings played in the drafting of Troy Aikman... but still... Seeing Romo on the turf crying was entertainment. Seeing ESPN run ragged over stuff normally coverd by TMZ or E! is also hilarious. VIVA LA VIKES, Baby. Make Tony Romo cry! OH! And then get TO's opinion about how the Cowboys suck despite voluntarily going to a team that sucks worse! AWESOME! -

Hey 82 get this: If the Cowboys face the Vikings..... GO VIKINGS!!!!! How's them apples? There's really only one more overrated team in the NFC than Dallas and that's the Giants. But hey, I can't double up. So, I'll call Dallas overrated and call the Giants "The fluke" I still don't think the Vikings will win it all. But Chilly will get his first playoff win this year. At least he better. I can't stand the putrid Silver and Blue from Dallas. And I want the Pack to win. Cards are a neat team, but not good enough, imo. Just like Dallas... no... Dallas isn't a neat team. -
Wow. I've seen kids faces when those things happen. Will you be jumping up and down and pull a Pitino? You know... running around the REA concourse looking for someone to hug?

Interesting... we want #10 back after many here said that he's a disappointment and probably should be best for fighting for ice time. Huh. Fienhage has been very reliable after his first few games, as predicted. As for Chay... I really don't know what goes into a recovery plan. I know he's been doing some light skating (or at least that's what I've read here and on Brad's blog) but Hak said it hasn't gone well. But can he condition? That's a great question. The Sioux had a pretty good weekend, not great on Saturday, but well enough to win. Eids played well. I am not sure at all what to expect this coming weekend. Injuries, inconsistent play.... Gophers figuring out how to play hockey... It will be an interesting series. I think we can win on Friday. Saturday, however, that's teh question mark. We're still (healthy or not) not a good second game team. My poor excuse for prediction will be UND takes 3. UND on Friday and tie on Saturday.

CICHY SUCKS! BENCH HIM!!!

I did a little messing around and I'm surprised (truly!) to find that there isn't really a close Whole Foods to University of Washington! It's 1.7 miles according to Google Maps. I would have thought they'd have one right in the center of campus. Trader Joes is closer.

EDIT: Read the other thread.... Let's score 9 tomorrow boys! NINE!

Fighting Norwegians? Fighting Mosquitos? Fighting Flatlanders? Fighting Flyovers? Fighting Sugar Beets? Fighting Frostbite? Fighting Cutbacks? Fighting Wheatfields? Fighting "anything" is a dangerous thing to wish for.

Fireside Restaurant I think... it's now closed. David Norman happens to be the owner and chef at Norman's Fine Steakhouse in Fargo and he used to own Fireside so....

The only stupid thing Glen Beck did was assume that Black people can be racists. And the only thing dumb about the rest of your statement is the underlying assumptions that: A. If you speak out against Obama YOU are racist and an idiot B. If you disagree with the Democratic party line, you are an idiot and probably a racist. Well, if that's the case, I'll just go ahead and claim I'm a racist and you're free to call me an idiot if you want. Name calling usually is an admission of defeat anyways. I haven't spoken out against Obama, but I don't support him either. And don't give me that rubbish about how we should all just shut up and do the best to support our President. If people did that for George W. Bush, I would, but they didn't so I won't. And yeah, Bush wasn't a good President, but he WAS President. I am a racist already because I support the nickname and I don't believe in racial equality for however long people like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson (and Farakhan by extension) are empowered individuals in our society. Their JOB is based upon racism. Its in their best interest for racism to continue. Sorry to get all political but seriously... the amount of BS that goes on based solely on political party lines in this country is simply unbelievable. It sometimes even make totalitarian dictatorship look SANE.

Ed Schultz and good should not be in the same sentence unless it is "Good bye Ed Schultz" or "Good Riddance Ed Shultz" or "Good move by the administration to fire Ed Shultz" etc. He lived around the corner from my parents place in Fargo. Funny there were charges of animal abuse and some interesting police visits there. Don't know what all the police visits were about.

Nora Neutral then?

That's a walking cast.... I don't think those boots are used for knee injuries, are they? I think it is either his ankle or his foot. I think it is ice toe (ala turf toe)

With all this negativity, I thought I'd inject a plug for a hockey blog that has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with Fighting Sioux hockey. It is actually a Toronto Maple Leaf Blog. And it is the most hilarious blog I've ever read. The latest article is hilarious but you have got to go to the thread on Chris Durno. It is almost fall out of the chair hilarious. The blog is called "Down Goes Brown" and it is at http://www.downgoesbrown.com Laugh away.

If the differential in score ever becomes equal to or greater than double the current Sioux score at the Betty, free refills will be granted.

I think they should go with a name like... Holly's Hippie Food Emporium. Their slogan? Our Food gets you close enough to hug your inner tree.

Nice.... Just when you need an over the top, low class, biting cynicism laced thread, leave it to you. Congrats. Time for the good old... red X

Wouldn't a partial tear require more downtime? I don't know, so that's why I'm asking.
-
Yeah. I heard that too. He hurt his knee on the one timer he was set up to make and whiffed on (probably why he whiffed) and left the game. He was able to skate off under his own power and was able to return to get the tourney award he got so the injury isn't season ending... which means it wasn't a torn ligament of any kind. Probably a knee sprain or a pulled ACL/MCL/PCL. This means that Knight, Cichy, and Bruno have a little more fighting time for the final slot. As for Zajac, I'm with brian on this one. I can't honestly believe that he'd be back only 3 weeks post op. He's certainly NOT at 100%. With Kristo and Frattin back.... I might just sit Zajac out vs. Mankato and have him return in the next series.

Having been to both Whole Foods and Trader Joes, and having been a college student.... I'm not sure they'll "eat it up." What I remember for groceries was the old "Whatever's cheaper" Whole Foods and especially Trader Joes were ANYTHING BUT cheap. And my brother and his wife both are organic grocery shoppers in Seattle... I can't tell you what their monthly grocery bill is but it's not shopping at Hugos.

Can I get some clarification here? Ok, MJ is doing work on Minard Hall and it collapses (part of it anyways). In the ensuing fallout, NDSU submits a $500k claim to ITS insurance company. Could someone tell me why? If MJ Construction caused the collapse, should it be MJ Construction that files that claim with theirs? How is NDSU culpable for this? Thanks in advance for the clarification.

I can hear the song "Don't Fear the Reapers" being played at every away game.
