  1. That poses the question: Why would anyone want to be like Diggler?
  2. Call in sick. Case of the 2 day Green Fever.
  3. Good question. I was hoping Forney would play. I'm not too concerned about Zach Jones not playing. It meant that Genoway and Bina got more ice time. Sioux-cia- I MIGHT (I really want to but it depends upon Grad School and tickets) be able to make it next Saturday.
  4. Thanks for your well wishes. The link you gave us doesn't work. I don't think you can link directly to your email folder
  5. Wow. Quality, PCM.
  6. Not that I've encountered. Just my current dog. Most of them I've been around have been quite well behaved, if a little rambunctious. My dog loves to run and swim. This is my second Viszla. My first Viszla would rarely even bark! I guess it depends upon the individual dog or how the owners train the dog.
  7. WildSioux- I can't understand why that protestor would try to make a point while trying to get rid of a harsh stereotype (according to him) by making one out of the race of the people that made that decision. Isn't that hypocritical? That would be like a person of color calling a caucasian person a derogatory name while protesting the harm of being called the "N" word. Yeah, the "N" word is a bad name to call any person colored or not, but calling me a derogatory name makes you the racist or insensitive person just the same!
  8. Most certainly, but I just cannot invest my time and energy rooting for this team until I see where this team is going. One off season and a few regular season games don't cut it for me just yet. We don't need another Minnesota Wild or, worse yet, Minnesota Timberwolves like team in Minnesota. We've got them already. Until then, I'll stick to the team I grew up rooting for: The Bears (My folks are from Chicago).
  9. Bah. I have a Hungarian Viszla so I out "rare breed" all of you! She doesn't hunt though. She came originally from an abusive household so we're her second home. She probably did hunt in her past (in between times when her previous owner beat and starved her). Anyways.... She's very sweet, but not the most social dog. Very afraid of strangers.
  10. It is interesting to me that Bina didn't get a letter, but I'm ok with that. It gives him an opportunity to get back into the game without any other responsibilities. He's going to take this year and just play hockey... And stay away from the boards whenever Paukovich is on the ice with him.
  11. WHOA!!! Who said I had confidence in Belmore? I think he, as Big Game stated in his post, has great skills but he is horrifically inconsistent (Big Game's words were better, but...). However, I'm not in favor of parking his backside on the bench for the duration of his senior year either. Manke and Belmore started the year platooning. Well, until Manke is healthy, I think the same system should occur with Belmore and Freund. That way maybe Belmore won't be as readable and Freund will get valuable playing time?
  12. Sure. And next off season we'll see what they do. Is this the era of filling the holes the team has or is it just getting the best you can get for the least amount of change like the McCombs era? Remember, the front office is very close to being the same as it was under McCombs. Only the owner is different really. Childress has nearly as much say (if not as much say) in drafting strategy as Green had... at least that's what I was lead to believe when Childress was hired. They have a triangle of power in the Vikings organization which is basically a bad idea because there is no definite authority in the personnel moves of the team that way unless one or two cave or agree with the part making the request to change the personnel in some way. I want to see what the Vikings do this next offseason with the Wide Recievers and the Quarterback position. I'll see then. For now, though, the Vikings will win tommorrow. They play a pretty lackluster team lead by a QB that is on somewhat shaky ground (Losman). Won't be a high scoring game, but the Vikings will win.
  13. #23 would be an awesome opportunity.
  14. Hold on there... I don't like what we're getting from Belmore but Belmore isn't a bad QB, he's just horrifically inconsistent. One moment he'll do something incredibly stupid (option play) and the next he'll do something smart (bubble play audible he called on the preceeding play). Letting Freund out onto the field may or may not be a complete disaster for the Sioux. Like it or not, Belmore's bad play hasn't yielded a loss, yet. Undoubtedly it will happen if he continues to play this poorly, but the answer isn't necessarily to bench him completely. The team needs Manke healthy. That's obvious. But pulling a Chicago Bears a few years back (everyone and their mother played QB that year) isn't the answer either. Either way, Belmore's days as a #1 QB for the Sioux get smaller the closer to health Manke gets.
  15. Careful, with how vehement these owners defend their breeds, you may be barking up the wrong tree
  16. WOW. That was darned lucky. Lots of dumb moves (from my football-uneducated mind). I don't know if I would have run an option play on 3rd down on the goalline. I would probably have done something like a toss sweep or something that takes the play AWAY from the pile. Oh well, what do I know. I only listened to it on the radio. Belmore again has trouble 3 out of 4 quarters. I hope Manke gets healthy soon because if his stats don't bench Belmore, his confidence in himself may. The defense on our team is monsterous and our special teams deserve the game ball. 2 blocked field goals, one nearly blocked punt... They were all over Augie today. I don't know, but I thought Belmore was much better last year in spot duty than this year. Maybe I'm wrong.
  17. I agree in that the Gophers will be favored. It will not be a blowout regardless of who wins. I just hope the Gophers lose. It's kind of on behalf of my sister. She attends Minnesota (yeah yeah, I know, but she hates hockey in general so it doesn't bother me that much) and she's always wanted Minnesota to be respectable in football. That can't happen under Mason. Mediocrity can and will happen under Mason. Therefore, for the betterment of the Gopher organization, NDSU must win this game. It is really that simple.
  18. I'm not sure if the Gophers have anything to do with this. Jack Johnson was a Michigan Wolverine (still is at this time, which I think is the problem Carolina wished to remedy). It has nothing to do with how Lucia develops defensemen... unless I'm misreading you?
  19. It is in Fargo....
  20. I can't be there, unfortunately. Jewish High Holy Days means I have to be in the Synagogue (sp?). What's weird about it this year is that this is the first year we've had to hire an armed security guard. Scary, no? Anyways, I can't find earbuds small enough to tune in during the Rabbi's sermon.
  21. #1Hakfan- I like what you said but you forgot one key component that makes this returning class just as potent as the on-ice talent: Coaching. Hakstol hasn't delivered a National Championship yet, but he's done darn near everything else (I don't count Coach of the Year stuff because really, that's more of a popularity contest). Hak, Eades, and Berry were a great trio the past few seasons and I'm excited to have Jackson as an assistant. We now have a Defenseman as a head coach, a grinder/scorer as an associate head coach, and a scoring winger as an assistant. WOW. I'm excited to see what Jackson brings to this team. OH! I forgot another thing: I like the leadership on this team player-wise. Smaby was a great captain (yeah, people will debate me on that), but I think whomever it is that is named this year will rise to be just as good. I mean, the leading candidate among SS.com fans seems to falter between Porter and Fabian. I mean, do we lose out if either one of them wear the C? What about the Assistant Captains? There's Bina, Porter, Fabian (assuming one or the other isn't the Captain), Toews (rare that a Sophomore has the type of leadership abilities to be mentioned as a possible Assistant)... WOW, we've got leadership!
  22. The article mentions that they sent Dan McGillis to the minors... That guy was signed for nearly 2 million!!! If I were the Devils, I'd do everything in my power to get rid of him! That's $2 million in the bank if they can trade him! Of course, no one will take him, but it is a stupid situation to have a multimillion $$$ defenseman lacing his skates for a minor league team.
  23. Maybe. But I'm just protecting myself in case they should falter. I don't want to get all "WOO HOO we're going to win it all!" And then fall flat on my face like I did last year. I'm going to take my optimism one game at a time
