Dunno, but I'm interested to see Stepan Novotny play and hopefully read some scouting reports on him. Maybe we could get another player from that neighborhood, no? (Though I believe Spirko was Slovakian...)

You have Tech WAY too high.

They moved it? When I saw SSM play a few years back it was on the main rink.

Maybe. It wouldn't be the first time. In any case, I was more defining what I believe Genoway's role on the team will be, not so much how good he is. I'm sure he is good. Truth be told, I don't know what Hakstol's plans are for Genoway, but the context of what I wrote was in response to the posters that said that Genoway will remove Finley from the lineup. And that I cannot agree with. Quite frankly, if Genoway is turning heads so far in practice, then we may have more depth at D than I first thought. One thing to toss out: What about bringing Bina back slowly and throwing Genoway in Bina's slot at first?

Hey, he asked for a dictionary, not a specific one. If he wanted a specific one, he should have stated as such.

Here is your link.

First off, I hope this isn't true, but if it is... WTF is going on in this country? Kick an athlete's butt month? Will part of scholarship offers have to include bodyguards? Seriously! Well, thank Parise he wasn't shot like those poor basketball players were out east.

It is scary, but many churches believe it is necessary because of the drop out rates among people "of age" when it comes to church. If a kid likes church, they are more likely to drag their parents to church (or both parents if one is religious and one isn't). I had a first grader whip out a picture bible and literally beg me to help her read it. I'm a public school teacher... it wasn't going to happen. But I did get to thinking: Why make a kid so gung ho about Church when they don't fully understand what's going on? Many of the religious concepts are so abstract... All I could do was shrug. Take kids to church, that's not the big deal. But pushing religion on kids is just like pushing other things on kids. They'll take it at first and the, in the end, most will reject it because it's never been their choice. My opinion.

Either way, I think SiouxMeNow and nd1sufan are both in bad taste. In any context, the term "SIOUX SUCK" is not appreciated. Maybe it's only not appreciated by me, but it is still unappreciated. And yes, I do hope NDSU beats Ball State. And lastly, people that come on this board from NDSU like GoBison127 aren't that many in number. The fact that he was respectful is truly something many NDSU fans haven't shown here on this site. Why are we still all hell bent to act so childishly towards those that do post with respect? I'm all for not liking the Bison for whatever reason, but blanket rating all fans of that team by the few that come here and make a bad name for their team is hardly fair.

Why roll the eyes? I think we should! Problems he worked on? Uh... Problems he indirectly or directly caused and then fixed as a result is more like it.
-
Well my option A didn't work. Heck, I don't think any of my options worked out. Oh well.

HEY! Back off the Packers! They were actually winning for a little bit! Apparently Coach Whocareswhathisnameis is taking it one step at a time. Lucky win for the Queens today. It's too bad Gamble and Delhomme did their team in. Gamble's move was simply the dumbest special teams play I've seen in quite some time. Delhomme made Aaron Brooks look good in the fourth quarter. Oh, and just so I'm not too negative on the Panthers: Peppers >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Entire Vikings defensive line. That dude flat out kicked the Vikings' butts. Too bad the rest of his team was either banged up or didn't come to play.

I was wondering about him and David Hale, personally.

UPDATE: Unfortunately, I'll be unable to make this game. UND managed to schedule this game on a major (possibly THE major) holiday on the Jewish calendar (Yom Kippur) so I will have to be in synagogue instead of at the arena (and the tailgating event ). Thanks to those who replied. Sucks to be me.

Somehow, the collective IQ of that stadium that day dropped drastically and entered the realm of mindless psychosis thanks to Cruise. And it is obvious that you listen to Madden too much. Madden has had a "man crush" on Favre for as long as I can remember. I like Brett Favre, but Madden's kinship with Favre is almost psychotic.

Oops! Well, apart from the North Dakota part, it's still pretty accurate. Then again, I doubt the US Army has anyone in command that is nearly as incompetant as Custer was, regardless of your political stance.

Thank you BigGame. I didn't know that.

I think Oshie will lead the team in goals, but Toews will lead the team in points. The harder one for me is the penalty minutes poll. Who will lead the team? I couldn't decide between Kaip or Jones. Both are rough and tumble guys. Finley could do it too, but I think he'll have a solid year and, though he'll commit a few boneheaded penalties, I think Jones will hit guys so hard that the refs will assume it is dirty. And Kaip won't back down from anyone and that will earn him more PIMs than Jones.

We'll see. I hope the Bears do well. Vikings are an 8-8 team. Mediocrity, thy name is Minnesota pro sports.
-
Maybe this is a silly question but.... How can an offensive line be good at protecting the pass but bad at protecting (or whatever you want to call it) the run?
-
Ok, all, what's Warrior_08 going to do? Right now, option A is looking good.... but the day is still young.

Anyone know if NCAA hockey PS2 game in the works?
redwing77 replied to Brasco's topic in Men's Hockey
Wait a minute... INcreased exposure on hockey? BY ESPN? Uh, no. The only exposure ESPN is giving is poker, world strongest man, and basketball. ESPN only cares about hockey when the playoffs come around and, with college hockey, only cares about it when the Frozen Four comes around. I don't recall seeing much advertising for the frozen four either. As for EA's responses, what business would NOT want to keep all avenues open? Just because they respond positively, doesn't mean they'll actually do it. -
AZSioux- Yeah, Colby got signed by Anaheim this past summer. I'm not sure what kind of contract it was, though. Some of the Anaheim fans and Ranger fans over on the HOckeysfuture board state that he has NHL potential. I hope he does. Prpich not getting signed is a sadder note. I have faith he'll catch on with some minor league team. As for Stafford, I think he will be in Buffalo by season's middle. However, I don't know if he will start the season with the team.

Agreed. Up until Oshie, who to me clearly seems to be the exception to the rule, that there has typically been a drop off in production between a player's final year of High School and his first year of DI hockey. I guess you could say that Oshie had a drop off, but then again, it's hard to score 100 points or more in DI nowadays. And Irish- I'm sorry you feel that way about our recruiting class. Sure, Minnesota's recruiting class is the best on paper, but not every top recruit goes onto a successful freshman year. Look at Frazee. I had him beating out that sieve Briggs for #1 goaltender by January of this past year at the latest and it didn't even come close to happening. And Chuck- Sorry, pal, though what you say is true on the most part, I would not consider Wheeler as anything close to an "elite" WCHA player. He hasn't done anything yet to garner such a label. He's a good player, don't get me wrong, but he's not elite.

Sorry, though I do think the Vikings will be better this year than last year, they won't win the North. The Bears have it too good. And if Rex "Wood for bones" Grossman goes down (Yeah, wood. Only Kyle Boller is more fragile) they do have Griese, who I think is one of the better backups in the league regardless (Though I will admit it will be awfully tough to win the Super Bowl with Griese). Nope. Vikes won't win the North. Nice conspiracy theories anyhow. Agree with Eskimos on those though.
