Can you tell which ones stand for beer?

It's becoming alarming on how these oddball athletes all seem to have psycho parents/parent behind them all the way through. Eric Lindros, Phil Kessel in hockey.... this guy in football.... many other psycho parents are out there, some of them are stupid enough to commit felonious acts before they can further corrupt their kids, but still...

Is that a jersey or a skating billboard?

Agreed. I don't come here to read smack talk. Period. I want to read about what's happening with UND sports (and a few exceptions like Rutgers and GVSU every now and then). Jim's a great moderator because he doesn't allow too much smack (sometimes I personally feel he's too lenient). I think he should keep it that way.

I'm hostile and abusive, but what the hell... Anyone remember the last time the Sioux and the US Army faced off in North Dakota? I don't think Custer liked the results.

Can I take none of the above? I think DaveK is right on when it comes to Johnson's prowess (He is mediocre). And I believe everyone else is right when they say Favre just doesn't have it. Who would I pick over Johnson? I don't know, 99% of the league have a starting QB that is better than the Vikings. But then again, DaveK, would you take Aaron Brooks over Johnson? The fact of the matter is that Johnson isn't the future of the Vikings. He is just a "stopgap" for this team. He's not the worst starting QB in the league (Aaron Brooks!) and he certainly won't be in the top 15 of QBs either. I'll even go as far to say that the Vikings' biggest question mark doesn't lie in the QB position. He's questionable, but he's not the biggest issue. I still think WR and HB are bigger issues.

Childress does appear to have a clue. And, you know what? Even if he falls flat on his face, he's already done one thing Tice could never do: Stand up for discipline. Today on KFAN they were applauding Childress for his decision to activate the player (player wasn't mentioned, I assume it was Smith?). I frowned at this. Why is it that it is commendable to do something a coach should do anyways? I know the answer to this question and the response is simple: Why they don't do it, I don't know, but they should. It's about time pro athletes are responsible for their behaviors. No, I'm not saying they must be prudes, stay at home drinking pink lemonade and talking about the latest stock forecasts, but if they screw up, they face consequences. They break the law, they really face consequences. I respect Childress for that. Do I think the Vikes will win it all this year? Nope. Too many question marks and not enough offensive explosiveness. Do I think he will eventually put the hurt on the NFC Central? It's a VERY strong possibility at this point, but it is all prediction on my part.

That's true. A lot will be lost with the closing of a college. I wonder if a town like Mayville would still exist if they closed Mayville State? I also wonder what the effect on communities across the state would be if NDSBoHE closed down all but Bismarck State, Minot State, UND, and NDSU (Side question-- Since several programs are integrated already with NDSU, would Valley City State simply be absorbed by NDSU?).

#1 -- I don't know how the Bears will do in the post season. A soft schedule won't help them, that's for sure. All I can hope for is that they show up. #2 -- Favre is a great QB... or more likely was a great QB. He's lost it now. In sports, it takes a special player to carry a team and it must be in a typical sport. For example, in hockey or even baseball, one or two players could carry a team (look at Buffalo back when Hasek played for them or Edmonton even last year). It doesn't work in football. Favre is trying to carry his team from Game 1 to Game 16 (if he could carry the team during the bye week, I'm sure he'd try). What this amounts too is INTs, sacks, and botched plays. I'd like him to catch or maybe even surpass Marino's record but he won't do that in Green Bay. He's got nothing there. He's hinted that he'd consider playing elsewhere next year and I think he should. But he also should be forced to relinquish the self-attributed "superman" status he seems to feel he must be in order to put his Packers in a position to win. He should just accept the fact that the Packers will lose at least 14 games this year and move on (Green Bay hired a head coach that Brett liked, not one that could necessarily turn the ship around). #3 -- I agree with the order of the predicted standings. The Vikings will get second by default because the Packers won't win more than 3 games this year (I predict 2-14) and the Lions just can't be taken seriously as long as they have the second biggest joke as a GM in pro sports (Used to be first, but the Islanders took care of that when they hired Garth Snow). If they do get rid of Millen, though, watch out.

This would be quite a steal for the Sioux since Bruneteau has never mentioned the Sioux as a possible selection. Mario Lamoreaux's situation is still confusing to me. He has a scholarship offer from UND but hasn't accepted it yet, he is being courted heavily by Red Deer but has rejected their offer as well. I guess I'm optimistic he'll choose UND, but I guess it seems odd to me that he's letting both UND and Red Deer hang for all this time. Malone would be a HUGE pickup for the Sioux.

Why I oughtta...... (I'm not that old....but you get the point )

Even if Rodriguez gets life instead of the death penalty, I hope the jury doesn't buy that crap. I mean, if I dig hard enough, through these kinds of reasoning, I could get out of just about anything by whatever my mother, or myself, came into contact with for a period of time sometime in the past. Did you know the home my parents lived in when I was born had asbestos insulation and lead painted walls? I wonder what crimes I can commit that I could blame that on? I know this is a snap judgement and our legal "staff" will probably disagree with me but: There is no such thing as a sane murderer. No such thing. Rodriguez raped and killed someone. What's sane about that? The fact of the matter is, no matter how crazy Rodriguez is, he still committed those horrific acts. And the acts are what is being judged here, not his childhood.

NFC North Champion Chicago Bears you mean

DOn't have an exact link but get this: Dane Jackson decides to take the assistant coaching position because he couldn't wait for Buffalo.... so the Sabres give the assistant coach position to James Patrick.

My wild conspiracy theory regarding this is that Forney's numbers during the season, even in high school hockey, were very good and the recent success that UND had with the High School - DI route with Oshie makes it all more noteworthy (however, I don't really understand that because Shattuck is a high school and no one talks about that much). Vandevelde did not have a consistently great year last year, no, but his second half was pretty good from what I read. I expect Vandevelde will be a solid contributor by season's end.

Throw the Schneider jersey into the resin and Diggler will undoubtedly jump into the resin trying to "save" it. 2 for 1

So with that in mind, anyone have the over/under on how many more posts warrior_08 makes before he forces "administrator's" hand onto the ban button? He already caught administrator on a good day. I would have banned him (or at least suspended him) for that comment.

With all this talk about your age, I'm surprised you can still remember that

Anyone know if NCAA hockey PS2 game in the works?
redwing77 replied to Brasco's topic in Men's Hockey
While we're talking about this, any word on the Big Ten Hockey Conference? -
Nor one that is nearly as humble.

Oh, ok, so does this mean that, because of your behavior here, I can say all WSU students are beer guzzling, name calling, no good, idiotic, SOBs who wouldn't know their heads from their butts even if they were given simple pictoral instruction manuals and a personal assistant? Look in the mirror pal.

Nice knowin' ya. Cue the Admin and that fabulous "BAN" button. Wow. Talk smack about the game if you want, but pot shots like this is hardly appropriate. And by the way, consider me offended by your comments. Here's a break down: Prove: 1. All we care about is the frats. 2. Prove that I, and everyone here, are racists 3. Prove you know how to type without using the caps lock 4. Prove that I am a drunk or anyone here is a drunk. Do I know you? Do you know me? What gives you the right to label me a racist or a drunk? Consider your post reported.

Why would a Gopher fan wish to deface a Sioux monument in Grand Forks? The NCAA is already trying to do that anyways?
-
Not to mention feed the stereotypes they feed students at WSU. Seriously, if hurling insults like "frat college USA" is the best WSU can offer their students, I'm exstatic I got my education elsewhere.
