  1. I thought USCHO stated that DU would hang around at 11 or 12 regardless of first round outcome?
  2. Not playing Boogerbrain is actually something I applaud LeMaire for. He doesn't contribute anything except for inciting fights. What the Wild need is a tough guy who's good at something other than fighting. If Boogerbrain was good at anything other than fighting I doubt he'd be benched.
  3. 2a) How many penalties will be called on us because the MSUM player is able to convince the WCHA official that a good hard check was against the rules?
  4. But that bandwagon has a flat tire, rust over the wheelwells and the shocks are shot from everyone jumping off of it!
  5. Goon and Company are going to be floored when I say this but... I was actually impressed with the Wild tonight. They actually tried to bring it to the Bruins instead of sitting back with their good defensive skills and wait for everyone on the other bench to fall asleep. I was NOT impressed by the FSN Homers, the Bruins, and the officials. Sorry, but the tripping noncall really helped lead to Rolston's goal. THe officials were calling some dumb stuff and not calling some overt stuff. The tripping call was only one. Of course, a good call coincides with the Dumb Play of the Night. That goes to Marco Sturm punching Fraser(?) in the back of the head repeatedly. Dumbarse. I should be so unimpressed with the FSN Homers. No matter. Anyways, good work by Bochenski. Bad job by the Bruins otherwise. They really didn't have much of an impressive showing tonight. Good work by the Wild. They did great. Backstrom is solid.
  6. Wow. DU/WI would end up being a really good series. UND would almost continuously be down a man, Hunt will continuously miss obvious penalties, Shepherd will call a good game one night a terrible one the next, and Schmidt will just blow 2-3 calls per game. The good news? No players will be seriously injured thanks to Don Adam riding the pine.
  7. Awwwwwwwwwww.
  8. Which is why I think Duncs has no chance. He's no senior and he didn't break any records.
  9. You'll probably need to invite a priest, provide rosary beads and holy water, and have a good old fashion exorcism before the gifts are given!
  10. I agree. It is very rare for a Sophomore to win the Hobey unless he broke records.
  11. My mistake. However, I was using Diving as an example and did not mean to imply that you supported diving in any way shape or form. I don't support diving either, but as Whistler says, the officials don't know diving when they see and so the opposing player goes to the box. So if you are a team at a competitive disadvantage (even if it is just a disadvantage at that point in the game) and you know that diving is cheap, but it will get the other team down a man, would you dive? I wouldn't but several Badgers would, several Gophers would, and I've seen several players on every WCHA team do it at one point. It is an example of the ineptitude of WCHA officiating. A few years back when UND lost to Ferris State, I was flabbergasted when the official called a Ferris State player for diving. I didn't even know they even called that penalty at all! Then I found out it was a CCHA official and understood. Diving is a penalty, but it is still done because it isn't called. And as Pappa Dork and Ostrich McLeod have shown in the past, there is nothing the NCAA can do to crackdown on it in the WCHA. I agree bad sportsmanship should be punished, but it's not nor will it ever be with the current powers that be. Sorry for the misrepresentation.
  12. Aw crap. Now the trifecta that's yet to be named (Hockeymom, Siouxmama, and Sioux-cia) will be all a-tizzy planning a baby shower for Happy. I know how these things go! (seriously, though, hilarious, Siouxmama)
  13. What do you know! You only care if you can shoot them or not! And Lives to Play - You need to reread my responses to you in those threads. They STILL apply now, only I'm not the only (or one of the few) who sees it now. And I don't recall Finley getting burned much by any Gopher. And I recall the entire team getting burned by Maine.
  14. Hm... I thought the reason why we didn't win was because we weren't scoring. Good to know that we can still win without scoring. This is why I am so cynical towards some posters here. Some of you are INCAPABLE of seeing that, early in the season, we weren't good AS A TEAM. But, instead of saying defensive lapses, shoddy goaltending, bad special teams, untimely penalties, and lack of scoring were the reasons we did not do well we just pin it on Lee, Finley, and Lammy. Lee I already understand is a lost cause to many here. He's 6'3" tall and he's not Greene. That means he will suck. I'll have to accept that. Lee would have been much better if he wasn't drafted 9th overall and was Radke's size even if he did nothing else in his game better. Finley is following the path Smaby followed without as many penalty minutes. But he's not as good of an open ice hitter Smaby was so he sucks. Whatever. Lee and Finley rock. I'm happy they wear a Sioux jersey. And I'll always root for them whenever they take the ice.
  15. Fixed. Sorry.
  16. No, he's wasting his time. Everyone knew one line into Bismarckfan's post that logic had nothing to do with this thread.
  17. CVCL is right. Why not dive if you know the officials will call the opposing player for a penalty? Even if they call the opposing player for tripping and you go off for diving, it still could be seen as beneficial to your team. The WCHA officials (mainly thanks to their accountability standards and their inept administration) have only made cheap play more acceptable and bad habits more prevalent while putting their heads in the sand and saying the problems don't exist because they don't see it being a factor and the fact that no coach wants to come out and admit that their players routinely take advantage of the WCHA officials' ineptitude by diving or committing those offenses because they know it won't get caught.
  18. "man he has a long ways to go" is one thought. What I read was "Man, Joe needs to be kicked off the team as soon as possible." There's a huge difference. Yeah, Joe does have a ways to go, even now. But you know what they say: No loss goes without a scapegoat and Finley, along with Lammy and Lee, provided that scapegoat early in the season.
  19. Wow, Happy, are the you the only guy who actually took Bismarckfan's post seriously? Please. Read the entire thread before you make a fool of yourself...again.
  20. You missed an entire thread, apparently. Early in the season, a poster and a bunch of others thought Joe Finley should be signed by Washington so he'd be their problem. Essentially, they wanted Joe off the Sioux.
  21. Not bad for a guy who needs to be signed by Washington ASAP. Seriously, though, Congrats Joe. Saw it in you all along.
  22. So make sure Team POI drinks more than you do!
  23. Sorry Triouxper. Forgot the smilie. I meant it as a joke. I agree with you. I was doing that as a jest. Obviously, you didn't click the link. Maybe it would have been better to post a familiar image to BIsmarckfan? Such as this:
  24. Though I agree, this assumes though that the officials are being told to call it the way they are or are told to ignore that crackdown. The fact of the matter is, McLeod and Shepherd simply don't acknowledge that there is obstruction going on in the WCHA. If they believe (even with proof otherwise) that a problem doesn't exist, why enforce the crackdown? This isn't a ref problem, this is an administrative decision to keep heads in the sand. We won't see anything called, but if I were Hakstol, I'd practice using HEA or CCHA officiating as a guideline if possible.
  25. Word has it that Ben Hughes is leaning heavily towards Michigan.
