Radke fought two players. The first was JP Testuide, which was broken up before anything could happen. The second was Vossberg. Radke got him with three big punches (at least). I'm thinking this was the guy who got stitches. I'm also going to guess that Radke will get more than 1 game. I don't know how I know, just a hunch.

Thank you. I usually hire out goons (apart from the one known as Goon) to handle all my dirt throwing.

And here I thought a cougar was a rich, older married woman who goes out looking for what best can be called one night stands with younger men? If that's true, then Sioux-cia... I am...appalled! However, it does explain the Prpich thing.

Not bitter. I was thinking of something else. But in the essence of being nice, I'll just sum it up in one mundane word: WRONG.
-
Miami is a cupcake anyways. They have a good goaltender and maybe one scorer who may make UND's second line if he was here... Miami is nothing special. Michigan is the only team in the CCHA that is remotely competitive.

I'd also like to point out that the Sioux have yet to beat the Soviet Union....but at least we haven't lost to them yet either.

A lot can be said to support this even though Oshie only scored 2 points on the weekend. He did tie up a lot of DU players and was all over the ice. However, good things come to those who needed it most. Oshie is a given. Kozek and Duncan REALLY needed this weekend and they got it. Genoway is...well... Genoway. I love defensemen who aren't afraid to shoot the puck. That's why I was such a big fan of Nick Fuher. He shot the puck at times when everyone else on the unit was looking for a pretty goal.

Hard fought sweep. Not all that kosher though. I guess Manino did get the 2 minute earlier. Radio guys (not Sweeney) said it was Cheverie. Oh well. I just find it interesting. My 3 stars of the game: 1. Chay Genoway 2. JPL 3. Andrew Kozek Overall, the weekend belonged to Kozek, Duncan, and Genoway.

Finley runs into Rakashani coming off the ice. Manino did nothing. Cheverie gave Finley a left hook. 4 DU players piled on Genoway I think. Vossberg and Radke went at it. Don't have a clue how the penalties are going to work out.

I don't think tonight's game will be quite like last night's. We got really lucky last night. If DU enters the third with a lead, I don't think that the results will be the same as last night's. I just hope that tonight we are better on the transition, we stop being afraid to shoot the puck (especially on the powerplay), and we play a good solid game fundamentally.

On the other hand, why worry about how the Pios are feeling right now when we can have fun picking apart our own team. Hey, at least we're consistent. We criticize our team win or lose!

I think Minnesota pro teams are at a point now (the Twins will be by the time the new stadium opens for sure) where they fans are going to say "Show me a winner or move your team." There are a lot of diehards out there and there are a lot of casual fans. All have rooted for Minnesota pro teams at one time or still do. The fans show their support by buying merchandise, showing up for games, supporting their charities, and even purchasing stadiums (or the majority of the costs anyways). So the question must be asked: When are the Minnesota pro teams going to reciprocate? Truthfully, since the public is spending all this money on the stadium, the teams that play there can reciprocate in two fashions: 1. Decrease ticket costs to the point that everyone can afford them (not likely). 2. Use all that money you saved by foisting it on the citizens of Minnesota to bring in real talent to augment you existing crew. This means bringing in big names. You don't have to be the Yankees or even the Cubs in your spending. You just have to bring in 2 or 3 big guys and spend the money to do it. Win the World Series, NBA Finals, Stanley Cup, Super Bowl, whatever and we're happy. Right now, Minnesota pro teams are so pathetic that they feel that just making the playoffs marks a good season. There is even talk with Detroit and Cleveland's depth that they'd consider the Twins season a success with just a record over .500! Is this a sport attitude you wish to endorse? Nope. THat's why I don't support Minnesota pro teams. Mediocre isn't enough.

Forgive my lack of knowledge of street names (maybe some UNDers can help me out). Side streets are the best, but in case that doesn't work, there is always the lot behind Tabula/Christus Rex Church that is a good place to park, though it is a bit of a walk. Same thing with the Med School parking lot. There is another parking lot on the same street as the fraternity closest to the REA but I can't remember the street name nor what it is near so that's not much use to you. I say parking in the med school parking lot is best because it's far enough away from the REA to facilitate a faster departure from the area after the game.

Yup. And I think a lot of defensemen made mistakes last night, but so did most of the Sioux players. I just can't believe all the negativity that is still heading towards our players though. Sad. Well, that's ok. I'm polar opposite really. I think every player we have is worth a lot to the team on or off the ice. And I think Hakstol, Eades, and Co. make the right decision every time. So, if he plays, he deserves to play. If he doesn't then someone else deserved to play. It's black and white.

I thought the Penalty box was "tPB"

I'll be serious too: POST SOBER. UNDLAW- Fair enough. I too agree. You gotta play to learn. Yzerman19- Sure! They're both freshmen, so why come down on them ALL the time like you do? LaPoint has contributed offensively at times. He's looked good at times. He's looked like a freshman at times. If you campaign so much that a defenseman has to be able to contribute offensively to be good, then you should be harder on Marto. He does play (I expect we'll see him Saturday), but he has...what...1 assist and 0 goals?
-
No but the slash he did tonight (that resulted in a penalty) made me think of Tanya Harding.
-
Didn't see first goal. Second goal was WEAK. Third goal was somewhat of a fluke. Fourth goal should have been waved off due to a holding penalty on Jackson (I think) who lost his glove and hauled Trupp down.
-
I'm not going to call you a name. I'm just going to say you're wrong. I thought he wasn't remarkable out there, but hardly a liability. I'll just say this: Marto surely appreciates your pining for him. And I'll add this: Eades (and Hakstol) play LaPoint. That's all I need to know to know that you're wrong about LaPoint.
-
Not sure that it was such a bad penalty to have taken. Better to take it and kill of the penalty than to not take it and give up a goal.
-
Chuck has been pretty knowledgeable about Wisconsin high school hockey, but this one well... I'm not going to go down point by point like manchild did (because I don't have to. Thanks manchild.) But I will say he's dead wrong on many many things. I like the idea that he should pinch more. If he's so slow, what do you think is going to happen if he tries to pinch? Second, he's DARN GOOD with the puck. He wasn't good with the puck as a freshman and that cost him reputation wise. Again, there's the old double standard. He should be scoring more. What? Finley sucks because he doesn't score goals. Why is it that defensemen have to score points in order to be considered good? PLEASE! But, hey, if that's the case, then that resolves the old issue of who plays LaPoint or Marto. I guess Marto won't see the ice again this season. Jones should be kicked off the team. Do you want a team whose defense is entirely concerned with offense? There is a team like that. It's the Gophers. Go root for them. They've had that problem for YEARS! They haven't had a shut down defensive defenseman in ages... unless you count DeMarchi as one. Leopold, Ballard, Goligoski... good defensemen all, but mainly because of their work in the offensive zone. I like balance. Let Genoway pinch for Finley. By the way, if Finley was fast at his size, he would have been gone in the top 10. A fast player at 6'7" tall? Unheard of. Jeebus. Finley does well for us. Let him play.
-
Great job pulling this one out of the breezers by the Sioux. My three stars: 1. Andrew Kozek - 4 point game. Enough said. 2. Chay Genoway - Put us back into it 3. ? Ok, don't know for the third....
-
Huge penalty kill coming up. Don't ruin Kozek's 4 point night!
-
Kozek is dah man! Looks like the KOD line is here to stay.
