He stopped addressing anything negative to NDSU about two years ago.
-
After everything that has been explained to you in the above posts, you focus on that and reply to that? I still haven't seen you address the fact that NDSU offered a scholarship to a player that you deemed a "walk-on level talent". Your own school blew away your theory but you keep sticking to it.
-
The game must have shown something because multiple schools came in hard, AFTER the All-Star game. Apparently, all those FBS and FCS coaching staffs are fools for falling for his AS game/week performance.
-
Because as many have explained, his worth is now above that of a walk-on, as NDSU proved with their offer. So now he is a commodity that UND got for less and the fans want to keep, whether UND gives him money or not.
-
So in your opinion is he locked into UND or are other schools still in the picture?
-
According to reports, shortly after the game.
-
For the last time, nobody said UND's staff pegged him as such a great player. The fans have pegged him that way. However, things have changed with him as he blew up the week of the All-Star game and also in the AS game. So now at least one FBS college and one FCS college came in late and tried to get him. The situation changed and his stock shot up immensely. What I can't understand is that your own coaching staff at NDSU deemed him a scholarship athlete AFTER the all star games and you are still arguing about his worth?
-
Well NDSU thought he was worth at least a partial scholarship so you should use that as your baseline. Looks like UND got a steal then.
-
They identified him before everyone else and got him as a walk-on. He then blew up and schools came in late and the situation changed. He must be pretty good for NDSU to try to steal UND's walk on by giving him a scholarship.

Like I said, NDSU fans made a huge deal out of the trophy because it was during the transition and they wanted SDSU to become this massive rival. It got old hearing about it because everyone knew deep down that the nickel is the only true traveling trophy either of us will care about. You have to admit that your fans tried to act like the Marker was the new Nickel. UND fans will never do that with this trophy, if it is made. I clearly stated that it would take on a meaning similar to Sitting Bull, probably even less. It simply would be a trophy for fun, to join together the two states through the Bakken Oil field. No real rivalry at all.
-
Rivalry is a loosely used term these days. Obviously if UND and Montana State started a trophy it would not mean its instantly a true rivalry and the blood would start boiling. It would probably be the same intensity as the "rivalry" UND had with USD back in the day for Sitting Bull. It was fun but nothing near the nickel. When NDSU/SDSU made up the Marker, the fans blew it's importance so far out of proportion. That is why UND fans cut it down so much. Its a nice, fun trophy to bring some meaning to the game but it is non-existent for 364 days a year. Just like Sitting Bull was.

The 2010 schedule was probably the hardest in school history. It was much, much more difficult than the 2011 schedule.

Portland State will probably be picked 4-5th in the Big Sky preseason rankings. That game is huge for both teams if they want to get to the 7 win plateau. It will have a conference game feel even though it is technically non-conference
-
Huh? When playoffs expand, that means more 7 counter win teams will get in. I am predicting a 6 counter win team will get in next year when it goes to 24 teams. I believe all 7 counter win teams got in the playoffs this past year, correct? I guess I don't know about some awful conference like the MEAC but I am talking the Top 6 conferences.
-
UND beat Stony Brook two years ago so they would have a decent chance of victory and I guarantee they beat Norfolk State. That conference is really bad. UND would not beat James Madison, more than likely.
-
Did they have a press conference today at the Alerus Center?
-
5-6 would be a GREAT success? I would say 6-5 is a realistic goal and with some luck they could go 7-4.
-
You don't think the NCAA has been through enough with UND already? This is a non-issue compared to everthing else going on.
-
The scenario you just stated is exactly how it happened. Why couldn't both of them take place? If Faison never saw the tweet or wasn't informed of it, how would he know why Nelson was there? Seems pretty simple to me.
-
That is good news Jayson. With the new home jerseys supposedly being black, there is an easy intro song that would amp the place up immediately!
-
Its obvious that Dale didn't think he could win at UND during the transition and with this name fiasco going on. There isn't a coach in the world who would come out and say they "don't mind the sanctions, we will just have to win the National Championship on the road for 4 straight games". Every year.
-
Oh, so now Bison fans are excited about being back in a conference with all the old NCC teams. Go read BV.
-
The MVFC did not want 11 teams, they wanted 9 or 12. They ended up with 10 due to a reactionary move to help out the Summit League. Douple knows he needs to keep adding teams every 5 years because half the teams want to leave eventually. If you forecast out a ways, the Summit will be NCC 2.0 like everybody says. Just a matter of time.
-
So you don't think that NDSU had talked to Patty before they accepted the Summit invite? They just took their chances that the MVFC, who they had never spoken to and had no relationship with, would accept them? UND had spoken to Patty along with Douple, that is a fact. And the package deal was not there.

Thank you Sic.
