That is a fair point and true. My response would be this: the same mediocre, stagnant results have been happening for nine years, much like the conversation in this thread. Seems like they go hand in hand because nothing ever changes with the topic itself.

Wake Forest coach fired last year, check Louisville does just fine under Pitino Marquette did just fine under Buzz UND FB coach got fired last year, check. Don't know what you are trying to say but the examples were horrible.

I said it last night and will say it again, he just isn't likeable guy. That is my opinion but I feel others may share it as well. The way he carries himself on the sideline and interviews. The closest comparison is Mussman. The UND fanbase did not like Mussman because he was obnoxious and never cared to engage with them. He came off arrogant but had nothing to be arrogant about. Attendance dwindled much the same as his recruiting did. Look at the head coaches that NDSU has had in MBB - Tim Miles, Saul Phillips and now Richman. All are unbelievably likeable guys that the fanbase can rally around and love cause they are so witty and passionate, out in the public, etc. Jones is none of those, much like Mussman. Bubba is loved by pretty much everybody because he is honest and sincere as the day is long. Whether he will win or not remains to be seen. Brewster is a likeable guy, funny in interviews, smiles alot, etc. Roger Thomas had it. Dale Lennon had it. The Rev. Richie Glas had it. Once again, this is my opinion but I have been around UND athletics for 30+ years now. I will be around long after Jones is gone. It isn't hard to see which coaches have it and which don't based on history.

They told us a long time ago there would be a committee to actually pick the name. Either them or Kelley himself.

I like how Shanks is boxing out consistently. He always finds a guy and the boxes him out, or tries to at least. Not saying he gets all the rebounds but he consciously tries to box out. Can somebody tell DeRouen how to play defense in this day and age? The guy is way too aggressive and darn near fouls out every game. It costs UND points at the line cause of his countless hand-check and blocking fouls. I love that he wants to get after it but there is a point where he needs to learn to be smart.

Jones has to be the most unlikeable coach I have ever seen. From his handshake flyby's not saying a word to anyone to his stomping and pouting. Just tough to buy in.

At UND's level, yes it would surprise the hell out of me. At Kentucky, not at all.

Nothing trolling about it, pal. Everything I said is fact, just like your's were. The team has not gotten better based on record. CIT appearances do nothing for any fan base. I guess I don't understand how having an 8-13 record is doing a "good" job. And a career record of 127-144 is "good" and deserving of zero criticism. Please explain why after 9 years everybody should be pleased with the results? (maybe throw in another comparison to Tom Izzo for us).

You realize he has been coaching here for 9 years, right? Some of us have followed the program closely for more than 20 years and it has not gotten any better in the last 9 years, as indicated by his record. Maybe next year will be better based on recruiting. I hope so because it's alot more fun when UND teams win.
