  1. Again, very concerning that only a couple people on the committee with any marketing or branding background. I can see a Minnesota Wild type fiasco happening here.(mediocre name and had no forethought at all about a logo and branding......and these were professionals). The "general public" should at this point in the game have as little input if any, as possible. Name "suggestions" from Alumni, Faculty, and Students are fine. Voting by the general public or even the student, faculty, and alumni group on the names the committee ultimately chooses as finalists is a horrible idea.(I am going to cite the 7 out of 10 rule here) You were chosen for this committee and accepted....do your job and pair the list down, go through the pros and cons of each, confer with marketing and branding experts and make a decision.
  2. From the article. Well after giving this some thought I am exploring the option of filing a class action civil rights lawsuit against the following establishments for interfering with my college education. The Antique Whiteys The Spud Bonzers Frenchys The Bridge John Barleycorn and maybe a few others.....who is with me?
  3. The Suites were offered to the Scheels Suite Holders as part of their agreement. The Suite Holders were given first right to purchase all of the seats in their Suites plus standing room seats as well. I think if you had a 22 seat suite for example then you could also purchase 11 standing room tickets for your suite. If the Suite holder decided they didn't want to purchase the tickets then they were turned over to UND and I would assume they were offered to the Suite Holders at The Ralph in some sort of order. As far as the "cover charge" for the bar, that option, along with a "parking pass" option were included in your packet if you purchased tickets for the regional.
  4. Yes they did and if you didn't have a ticket in the bar you could not enter.....it was great being in the bar with about 15 people.
  5. Key point here is "only place where alcohol will be sold"
  6. Hmm.
  7. I'll play. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cjoOu2BPl78
  8. It was more attitude than performance related.
  9. Might have bought it legally and then transported it illegally?
  10. As the percentage of college hockey players moving into the NHL increases every year?
  11. Some one send this to Common Man....I think we can lock down the 2015 nominations on March 2....congrats! So do you think that all the athletes that go to Non Scholarship Schools at the D1 level are buried in student loans? Figure it out....my youngest brother went to Concordia and was in athletics and ended up paying for about 1/3 of his schooling.
  12. Idiotic post either way and I don't support the idea that FCS is JV. As I said it is what it is and we and NDSU are both competing for 129th place in division 1 football and when you go to a Division Hockey game you are watching many players who will make a living playing that sport while when you go to a FCS game you don't see that level of player as often...I go to both, I enjoy both but lets not make one more than it is just because you don't care for hockey.
  13. And that higher number of players is spread among 60 teams vs. the lower number of players spread over 100+ teams. to compare the quality and level of play between NCAA Hockey and NCAA FCS football is absurd....I am a fan of both, but at the end of the day it is what it is.
  14. If only she were of color.....the trifecta!
  15. Well. Twice the school=twice the price. Sorry, that was just a little too easy to not swing at.
  16. And to be clear. I think we need Luke for us to be successful, but this has been an ongoing issue. 6 times-killed our power play with an ill timed, ill advised unforced penalty and nearly half(6-14) these ill advised, poorly timed, preventable penalties have ended with the puck in our net.....
  17. I agree. But I'm not talking about one call. And even last night, we had the puck going the other way, he is behind the play was any contact there even necessary?
  18. If only that were true.
  19. I know that at times everyone will take a stupid penalty here and there, but it just seems to be an ongoing thing which is why I went through our box scores to make sure it wasn't just in my head.....it wasn't. Most of his penalties are of the roughing, cross checking, and slashing variety.
  20. Any chance we see Simonson or Olson tonight? I am sure the coaches have talked to #27 about his selfish brain dead penalties and he doesn't seem to grasp it? Hey, I know "battle" penalties are gonna happen and sometimes you take a penalty to prevent a play but 95% of his penalties do not fall into these categories. He took another last night in a 3-1 game and I turned to my brother and said "the puck will be in our net in 38 seconds....I was off by 6 seconds. . The "Hockey Gods" haven't been good to Luke either. He has taken 17 minors this year with one at the 60 minute mark of the game, so in the resulting 16 power plays our opponents are scoring at a 38%(6-16) clip. Also, 6 of his penalties nullified our own power play and 2 were matching penalties so in in actuality our opponents are scoring at a 43% clip when Luke is in the box. We need Luke Johnson in the lineup for sure, but it is going to come back to haunt us at some point if this keeps up.
  21. The guy next to us last night(not the normal ticket holder) hollered "shootscore" "checkem" and "getem" no less than 75 times each. As in we come across the center line and he says "shootscore". If he is there tonight I will be in the bar.
  22. I believe that most of the Simle kids will end up at Legacy and Wachter will feed Bismarck High so Bismarck High's days of domination could be ending soon.
  23. Demons! B, B, BIS, S,S, SMA, A,A, RCK.
  24. You are making the mistake of exchanging in conversation with someone who has no comprehension of what he is watching. My father used to have a secretary who was at his company longer than he was and people would say it must be great to have someone working for you with 35 years experience and he would say well, that is one way to look at it, but another way would be she has 1 year of experience 35 times.......this is kind of how I view this situation.
