Yeah I understand what you are saying. My point is that the focus of the film isn't how it affected any particular sport, it is about the fight to keep it and the fight to get rid of it. Of course you are going to see the Ralph and hockey more being it is the premier sport of the university. I love all of UND athletics as well, but I think it is irrelevant to the documentary to feature all sports when the documentary is about the logo that represented the teams not the teams themselves.

The documentary isn't about the athletic programs, it is specifically about the fight to retire or keep the logo.

@beersong is a real a**hole as well... For years at the Final Five I had a large group of Duluth fans sitting behind me on the eastside upper deck. These guys all wore the same tees that said F**k Sioux Sioux and were chanting racist stuff the entire tournament. Really brought my respect for the Duluth fanbase down as well. I know not every Duluth fan is like this but these guys made me sick.

Spoke with Bennet briefly last week and he said he would be more than happy to design the logo. Unfortunately, President Kelley would not let this happen because he wants to come up with the worst PC logo available.

I still don't understand where all of these Fighting Hawks supporters are coming from? Still haven't met one personally...

I have seriously not met one person who is a Fighting Hawks supporter... I see there are a couple of them on here but I have yet to actually meet one in person. I don't understand where all these votes are coming from? I have talked with a lot of students on campus as well. The funny thing is that the requirements for a name to make the final vote are nowhere to be found in the name "Fighting Hawks." Here is the list of nickname trait requirements: Representative of state/region (Ok, our state has Hawks, so does every other state)Honor past/look to future (Just because it has "Fighting" in it doesn't mean it honors our past. You can add "Fighting" to anything.)Promote pride, strength, fierceness, passion (this is a personal opinion)Sense of community/connectedness (Definitely isn't going to bring us all together)Intimidation to competitors (Well then we should be intimidated by many teams given the popular use of any Hawk name)Unique, recognizable, distinctly UND (Not even close)Formidable/fierce (once again, personal opinion)Inspiring, unforgettable (Not even close)Beautiful/classy (Hawks are beautiful animals, I will agree with that)If you can make the case that Fighting Hawks represents these traits with GOOD reasoning then I'm all ears...

This is awful... If we become the Fighting Hawks and look back at the set of criteria that was supposed to shape the new nickname, you couldn't match any of them up to this name. I'll support the teams but I'll call them what they are... Fighting Sioux.
