Lol so if you hate to state the obvious, why did you? That was legitimately my point. UND fired Bubs because he didn't get it done. Not some additional story many seem to be begging for for some odd reason.

But he didn't do that. He reported facts and people took it that he was plugging for Jax. He wrote about all three most recent hires. Everyone found a hidden agenda in it. Reporting the scandals.... why do we feel entitled to these stories? Ultimately, does it matter if Jammer was doing something he shouldn't have been? What do readers get out of it if they know? A scapegoat? Seems silly to me.

I think this board overplays what the role of local writer is and/or should be. I'll never understand why people feel entitled the know all the details. Schlossman is reporting, ultimately, why he was let go... UND's play. It was very good, but not good enough in the biggest spots. If Bubs and Jax got into a "dust up" (copyright @Oxbow6 😉), but UND went on a second half run and won a title, none of this matters. We all seem to be looking for something nefarious.

My understanding of the process is that interviews won't start until the application window is closed and HR hands the applications to Chaves. My guess is they have a very good idea of who will apply, however.

James feels like a guy who wants to be at UND and is enjoying his time, but I guess we'll find out. He's also improved in his first three seasons in Grand Forks. Hopefully that is one of the reasons he stays.
