  1. Long-term? Yes, I think it's not a bad thing. For the 23-24 season, it'll come with some bumps.
  2. LOL not gonna have a choice. I'm assuming you're referring to Johnson. I think he should be playing more, but goodness, the kid had all the chances he could get to start the year. He was always gonna be a project from a defensive standpoint, but I don't for a second believe UND's staff hasn't been coaching him up. He's just not very good in the d-zone. This stuff happens.
  3. It's like @gfhockey gets a bat signal when our conversations switch to UMD. Cheers, brother. I've always appreciated your "consistency"
  4. I'm very excited about Strathmann and Livanavage (By the way, I found out that his name is sounded out like Live-Ah-Nah-Vij - gonna have to take some time to learn that one lol), but the rest playing as freshmen will require our fanbase to calm the eff down and let them develop lol.
  5. I mean, we're losing 3 guys with a lot of college hockey experience and could lose a few more. So, there's gonna be some turnover. Frisch coming back is a huge deal. If that happens, we should be ok. If he doesn't, we're going to need to hit on one portal guy and maybe even 2. When I say hit, at minimum, we need a guy like Sidorski and despite his inconsistent play of late, Ty Farmer has had a good year overall, IMO. Two strong defensive-minded d-men are needed.
  6. Very good lineup. With that said, I'd say I'd like someone else on the top line with Blake and McLaughlin simply from a size aspect. Perron is gonna take a minute to adjust. I'd maybe flip Perron and James. Maybe consider Juddy or Strinden on that top line.
  7. On the offensive side, I love it. Need guys like McLaughlin, Schmaltz, Strinden, Portz, and hopefully Gaber to continually be focusing on their defensive development. Gonna be A LOT of turnover on the d-corps. Have to have it.
  8. Man, I miss that group. Simply incredible.
  9. I'm assuming you mean forwards only, right? Because if not, we'd have a significant chunk, if not all, of the d-men.
  10. Why? We won the tournament lol.
  11. He's a freshman. Not every freshman blows up their first year on campus. He's been a solid contributor, IMO. Gotten more minutes as the year progresses, too.
  12. I'll take this to the bank and be happy about it. I really hope for a win tonight and a shot for a massive sweep on Saturday.
  13. Yeah, we don't do anything wild, we just do it really, really well this season. In this situation, it's much more about the Jimmys and Joes than the Xs and Os.
  14. Just looked at this play again. From my blog back then: https://daddydumpandchase.blogspot.com/2017/11/roses-and-thorns-well-that-was.html 2:42 into the clip: This one is from the goonie! @Goon Oofa. SO BAD!
  15. I did point out earlier the look that DU less calls against them than UND, but is this like a real thing? Do we think that the NCHC favors DU in general? Not sure why that would be the case haha. I have no idea why the refs seem to ALWAYS call big time penalties against us against DU, but I am not sure where a potential conspiracy would lie lol
  16. I thought the idea was really fun, but he should have aborted mission when it wasn't giving good answers. There's not a lot of websites about UND/DU hockey history, so asking an AI bot this kinds of questions is dumb. The site is no longer amusing. Basically it's just boring, overplayed tropes. Some accurate, but overplayed, nonetheless
  17. Totally forgot about that. That was SO BAD. If I recall, the puck was already behind the tendy before the tap, too.
  18. I agree with this 100%
  19. I've said it a few times over the past two weeks ... a chip and a chair, and the boys gave us hope against Miami. Will it continue? Confident goaltending must continue. Must get better on 5-on-5. Avoid a five minute major at all cost - seems like we ALWAYS get one out there. Get a split and I'm very pumped. If we find a way to sweep, we've got a legit chance again.
  20. Disgusting goal. Even more disgusting, but adorable, celly. Jersey popping a CC jersey against DU in 2023 is just funny.
  21. Chip and a chair, man. Never know. We've all been saying it for years that maybe one day we'll backdoor our way into a title. This team still has plenty of talent. I'm hoping for a wild ride.
  22. With the way this season has gone, I have no problem with going on the road to play them. If we lose, so be it. I'm still betting on my favorite team, though.
  23. Call me crazy, but I kind of think I want St. Cloud to win. The NCHC's PWR is not fantastic and we need all the good wins we can get. I know it doesn't help us dramatically either way, but just from that point alone and that Miami is so completely irrelevant, I think I want the norm vs. the outlier.
