Clowns @ Hawks -- Saturday Break Out The Brooms Edition
stoneySIOUX replied to cowboys5xsbs's topic in Men's Hockey
Yep. I noticed all weekend we played smart from a defensive standpoint. Patient. No real noticeable massive turnovers. Short passes up the boards, good chips and dumps when needed. Stuff I expected to see all season, unfortunately. -
That looks a lot like Blake/OMac kind of vision.
-
Throw Strinden in there, too. Mac Swanson the year after. I like it.
-
I mean, Celebrini is incredible, but Perron with Emerson, Blake, OMac, maybe Gaber would be an acceptable consolation prize
-
Glad to see Perron is hot again as I think there was some concern for a minute. Six straight multi-point games. Finding Emerson a bunch.

No, it looks like, but I don't comprehend reading well , he doesn't have the answers. Maybe he's hoping that we'd all try and answer some basic questions about a potential firing before we do so? That's where I am on this subject. Not happy with this season. I'm not one that's in heavy worry mode as I still believe our staff is very good and I love the pipeline and several key players, but another season like this, I'd be worried.

Man, I wanted them to win a title SO bad during my time. Would have been so damn fun to party on campus that night. I did, however, get to be a part of a few rather notorious happenings during my time that a few of you here know about -
LOL the PWR did, so I think we should, yes
-
LOL everyone is beating us in sv pct.

Kid wanted to live out his dream and go to the NHL. He definitely made the right move, for him. -

HAHAHA you started the tangent when you said you'd recruit a guy like JAKE SANDERSON for four years based on your opinion of how a degree should be completed. Let's just move on, man. If I missed your intention, I do apologize and that's honest. I don't think I did. Ox seems to have gotten to that new conclusion that you birthed out of our back and forth, but again, all good. -

Unbelievable. Verbatim from your first post... "Got a lot of ink but left no legacy. We don't need any more short timers like that, especially the injury prone type. One and done or two and flew programs don't win championships." When you tear down a specific player, you cannot be talking about a general concept. Reading comprehension, yeah, ok. You just got caught looking silly because you called out a kid who was a heart and soul guy, and so you pivoted to a general concept to try and make yourself look better. Whatever, dude. All good in the hood. -

Your view is antiquated, I'm sorry. So, your kid's dream is to play in the NHL. He's a TOP FIVE pick. You tell him after two years that he should just not go to the NHL because he needs to get his degree, which he can do online during the season or after, simply because it's what supposed to be done? You mentioned the injury factor. What happens if he blows his knee out and never reaches his true dream of playing in the NHL? Your value system seems odd. Tell the kid to hold off on his dream because YOU say he should do it a certain way. Crazy. -

YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT JAKE SANDERSON! You're turning the story to try and make you look less silly. -

Again, he can still go back to school or finish school online, in the offseason. Sure are, but how many of them are as good as Jake Sanderson? You're wholly ignoring how good this kid is. It's absolutely stupid to encourage a kid at that talent level to stay for years in college with all the resources online schooling has. -

Hahaha kind of like the having a degree is super important ..... unless you've played 10 years in the NHL and your degree doesn't matter anymore lololol -

It's definitely different. With that said, it was updated with the premise that players had an extra year because of COVID. I'm not sure what you mean by "what it stands for". -

So, you're saying if a player plays in the NHL for 10 years, that voids getting a degree? They'll never get anywhere in life without the degree? Very confusing. There's hundreds of examples of players playing the NHL for a large career and then being successful in life. And so what if he doesn't get his degree? Isn't the point of a degree to get a job to build generational wealth? Couldn't he do that in the NHL? This conversation is wild. -
