  1. Just saw Jax on TV. Was up in the stands on the phone. That makes me happy.
  2. BSU incoming freshman and 22-23 USHL D-man of the year Eric Pohlkamp picked No. 132 by SJ
  3. UMD's Jayson Shaugabay No. 115 to TB and three picks later, his Warroad teammate Hampton Slukynsky to LA at No. 118
  4. Ottalina Senicanes
  5. UNO's Ty Mueller gets picked at 105
  6. For the uninitiated, Perron caught the third round and Strathmann was 2nd pick in the fourth round
  7. Perron and Blake together.... Carolina may be using UND as a testing background hahaha, I love it.
  8. UMD recruit is Adam Gajan the first goalie off the board. No. 35 to Chicago
  9. 2nd round is over, no Perron. I get it, but I don't get it. Hope this puts a boulder-sized chip on his shoulder.
  10. Everything I read this week is saying he's gonna likely stay another year, but I'm sure Anaheim will put the full-court press on him. Or, maybe the full-ice forecheck?
  11. Annoying, but impressive lol
  12. Round 1 tonight - ESPN - 6 pm Rounds 2-7 tomorrow - NHLN - 10 am UND recruits expected to be drafted: - Jayden Perron (2nd or 3rd round) - Andrew Strathmann (3rd or 4th round) - Michael Emerson (5th-7th round) Other players to watch: - UND's Jake Livanavage could be a late round pick - Adam Fantilli likely No. 2 overall after the Bedard coronation - Jayson Shaugaby (3rd-5th round) - Hampton Slykynsky (6th-7th round) - A big chunk of BC players could go round 1 - Steeves from UMD a second day pick? What other NCHC players go? https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-hockey/what-to-watch-for-in-the-2023-nhl-draft
  13. https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nhl/news/nhl-mock-draft-2023-post-lottery-blackhawks-connor-bedard/ahlnbsgeq8kvbzk8kt5ykwv5 Sporting News mock has Perron going No. 29 to STL https://www.lines.com/nhl/drafts Never heard of these guys, but they did a full mock. Perron first pick of the third round (65), Strathmann (77) and Emerson (142) in the fifth round.
  14. There's a great chance he goes late first round. I've heard of a couple teams that really, really love him. I think he'll end up going in the 2nd. Yep, spot on 2" and 20 lbs.
  15. If anyone is actually questioning his blue chip status, methinks Mr. Perron will show them differently very, very soon.
  16. Good write up here on Perron and his draft stock. I'm so pumped for this kid to be at UND. https://www.therinklive.com/junior-and-prospects/ushl/nhl-draft-countdown-no-7-jayden-perron-f-chicago
  17. Of club hockey.
  18. Would be odd for him to change his commitment again, methinks. But, I suppose it's possible.
  19. For every Brent Johnson or Cooper Moore, there are the Dylan Jameses and Ben Strindens..... feels like maybe we're being a little bit of prisioners in the moment.
  20. I mean, I think the reasons for Johnson being in the doghouse were very clear lol. He just wasn't a player who just ever really picked up his defensive side as quickly as needed. I think Moore had a good sophomore year, but I never saw him as anything but an average defender at best. He wasn't the god-awful player people were making him out to be this season, however. Totally agree he was scapegoated. Frankly, with whom we picked up, all four may be (in my opinion) better players than Bast and that's not even a knock on Bast. Three of them definitely are.
  21. All three have incredible upside offensively, but haven't shown enough steadiness defensively. Picking upside out of the portal is smart to do, especially if they feel like they have enough defense to cover the risk. Low risk, high reward. Particularly with guys like Moore and Johnson.
  22. Totally different players. Moore is much better offensively and Britt much more defensively sound. Considering the rest of the d corps and where Britt likely slots in (bottom pair), Moore will likely have a bigger overall impact, but Britt is steadier in the spot we need him.
  23. He's implying that we've been tampering, however. That's the only problem.
  24. It really is nice to have a kid come out and reinforce things, however. He trusts UND with his development, he loves what we have going on culture-wise, and he's a kid who's thought very highly of in the hockey world. I loved reading what he had to say.
  25. LOL I mean, it's good news, right?
