Going back to the USHL, not bolting to the OHL. Definitely still possible he could come in this season, but he's not against staying another year in the USHL. I've been told consistently that he absolutely has all the offensive tools, but does not yet know how to defend. Had one buddy refer to him as BJ 2.0. Would be good for all parties to see him take one more year of development, methinks. But, not the worst things to bring him in and get him ice time, of course.

I said we! It's a normal process for all of us nut job fans lol

Jammer or Gaber.

And likely the captain. Ugh, ugh, ughhhhhh.

Correct all around.
-
But, there's a four-year limit on that. That's just stating the player can't start on a new team officially until 30 days after they leave.
-
Huh?
-
Unfortunately, this feels like he's probably gonna go. Ugh.

Regarding available players, this is a really good get. Plays all phases, big minutes, steady eddy. Sorely needed when brining in 5 freshies.

I care about your opinion . When I first heard of Moore's transfer, my immediate concern flipped to the idea of getting a netminder. My thought would it would be a tough sell to a guy like Persson with one year left to show pro scouts his resume that he'll need to do it behind NO returning defensemen. That would mean we'd need a portal D or two first, almost, before locking down a tendy. I was then reminded by a friend that our top two targets (Persson as a confirmed target and Haider as a presumed one) both have two years left with the COVID year. Considering that, I'm a little bit less nervous about Moore. Not much. But a little. And a look to the future, after this season, we get Boisvert and McInnis in. Our defense, with a good season of development, goes from a massive negative to a potential elite group. Here's to hoping.

I nominate this for post of the year.
-
That was my first thought. Hopefully with more than one year of eligibility or a combo of two maybe portal forwards.
-
Remember, a lot of these portal guys are gonna have a good chunk of offers and that includes visits to UND. I get things are stressful, but we all gotta calm the eff down lol.

How is it their fault over his? Matteo produced from a bottom 6 role in his first season. Why didn't he in the second? He started out on PP2, as well.

Our definitions of the word "awesome" are apparently very different

Me? I absolutely could name a significant chunk of this year's Minny team. But, why does that matter anyway? And is this honestly an argument? You hate the team, not the player. Anyway, take a straw poll. Simple solve. I'm very, very confident that UND would be considered a rival and likely, the most hated one by a large number of fans, if not most of them.
-
I think the later part of that paragraph is a lot more worrisome than a post on social media in terms of what's motivating the program, for sure. Glad we're on the same page. With that said, I think UND is still thought of a being hard to play against. I know that's something I heard even last season. Heard it a little bit down the stretch, as well, when we remembered our defensive game. To me, this feels like an aberration. Hopefully we get back to it in 23-24.

I would highly disagree. I think their post that had thousands of likes and shares immediately following their regional win, a massive moment in their season, coupled with the intensity in the crowd and banter online during our series' disagrees, as well. Your opinion, however.
-
We're each other's biggest rival. It's 2023. If you didn't see this coming, you haven't been following along. Next time we win a regional in Minnesota, especially if Minny isn't involved, remember this tweet. I guarantee it'll come back around. It's a silly jab at a massive rival and frankly, if the program needs this as any additional motivation, that would just be stupid.

2023-24 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

I'm not sure I agree Schmaltz has to be top 6 in terms of his skills, other than the need for a draw-winning center. 28 isn't a center, so I get what you're saying. I'm not saying Judd HAS to be top 6 by my initial comment. I'm saying he's got more offensive upside with who he is as a player than Sendo and Hain had this year. -

Honestly, that could turn into the 23-24 version of the "Heavy Line" from 2016. I really like that combo a lot. -

Once the team switched to their defensive mindset, he became a beast, IMO. He didn't pot a lot of goals down the stretch, but had some big ones. He played a man's game - net front greasy stuff, killer forecheck, massive PK, etc. I personally see Juddy with a top six MUCH, MUCH more than I saw Hain and Sendo down the stretch. Back to everyone's favorite "getter, setter, netter" convo, I think he provides him some versatility. I think he could play the getter role with OMac/Perron (setter) and Blake/Gaber (netter) big time. He could also form a shut down group with guys like Strinden, Portz, Kunz, Albrecht (if he stays).
