His game was noticeable last year against LU and he had a really good season. He's not a top line winger, and if you're expecting to have UND fill that spot in the portal, you're sadly mistaken. He's filling an immediate hole left by Judd. Again, this feels like two different conversations. Yes, it makes sense that UND shouldn't be dipping this hard into the portal. However, this is a great pick up for the immediate needs of the team.

I understand your thought. I'm doing everything in my power to focus on moving forward and I like the move. I really, really liked Johannes' game against LU last year. He had a solid year last year for a bad, but hard-nosed team. He's a really solid fit for next year's team and looks like Judd, but meaner. The 23-24 needs that kind of player on the bottom 6, IMO.

My bad. I made two typos. I shouldn't have come at ya. I'm just annoyed with the constant berating of this program. This move was a smart move. I've really liked our additions and many of our subtractions, for that matter.

I understand where this is coming from, but you're arguing two different points. You're upset about UND's current pipeline vs. UND adding a player that directly fits a need based on the available portal players. This is a really smart add right now.

Tell me you know nothing about roster construction, style of play, recruiting balance, this kid's game in general without telling me you know nothing about roster construction, style of play, recruiting balance, this kid's game in general.

2023 National Championship Game: Quinnipiac vs. Minnesota

Having a successful season does not make it a success. That team had one real goal, and they didn't reach it. -
Big fan of this. He's Judd, but meaner. I wanted Judd back, so this works just fine.
-
I actually kind of like it. Seems like he's got a good grasp of his game. I'm all for that.

From what I was told this week, it's HE that is considering staying one more year in the USHL. The team agrees, and both sides are saying he could come in, but he personally feels he's not ready yet.
-
Maybe he and his people don't think he's ready for college hockey yet?
-
Going back to the USHL, not bolting to the OHL. Definitely still possible he could come in this season, but he's not against staying another year in the USHL. I've been told consistently that he absolutely has all the offensive tools, but does not yet know how to defend. Had one buddy refer to him as BJ 2.0. Would be good for all parties to see him take one more year of development, methinks. But, not the worst things to bring him in and get him ice time, of course.

I said we! It's a normal process for all of us nut job fans lol

Jammer or Gaber.

And likely the captain. Ugh, ugh, ughhhhhh.

Correct all around.
-
But, there's a four-year limit on that. That's just stating the player can't start on a new team officially until 30 days after they leave.
-
Huh?
-
Unfortunately, this feels like he's probably gonna go. Ugh.

Regarding available players, this is a really good get. Plays all phases, big minutes, steady eddy. Sorely needed when brining in 5 freshies.

I care about your opinion . When I first heard of Moore's transfer, my immediate concern flipped to the idea of getting a netminder. My thought would it would be a tough sell to a guy like Persson with one year left to show pro scouts his resume that he'll need to do it behind NO returning defensemen. That would mean we'd need a portal D or two first, almost, before locking down a tendy. I was then reminded by a friend that our top two targets (Persson as a confirmed target and Haider as a presumed one) both have two years left with the COVID year. Considering that, I'm a little bit less nervous about Moore. Not much. But a little. And a look to the future, after this season, we get Boisvert and McInnis in. Our defense, with a good season of development, goes from a massive negative to a potential elite group. Here's to hoping.

I nominate this for post of the year.
-
That was my first thought. Hopefully with more than one year of eligibility or a combo of two maybe portal forwards.

Remember, a lot of these portal guys are gonna have a good chunk of offers and that includes visits to UND. I get things are stressful, but we all gotta calm the eff down lol.
