  1. Not much room for creativity when we don't really have a logo. Take away the M, and what do you have? Ugly colors
  2. Completely agree. It's not like we don't have those guys in the system, either. I think this team will still bring a lot of grit with guys like Gaarder, Rocco, Pattyn, etc. Not too huge bangers, but still hard-nosed players with speed. Being big is never why we were feared, we were feared and still will be because we are physical. I'm excited!
  3. Split in Miami, split in Boston, split with St. Clown, sweep Omaha.... 5 wins...
  4. A three seed in the regionals. I'm fine with that.
  5. To be fair, this is a step in the road for high end players. Their ultimate goal is to make the NHL. But you better believe that these guys come in here wanting to win a national championship. They know they when they come to UND, they are one (maybe two) steps from living out their dreams of playing in the show. I don't think for a minute that any of these kids that come into our program don't think about winning a national title, but they want to play in the NHL and know we breed those players.
  6. Little Bangkok... 'Nuff said.
  7. Right... he can quietly bring the Cup to Grand Forks
  8. Didn't matter. Who cares? Moving on
  9. The Broadmore would definitely be a nice treat, but I bet the team would like to win the Broadmoor a little more
  10. As much as DU has become a bitter rival, UM is a bigger one. Plus, we are behind them in the standings. DU sweep would be wonderful and St. Clown getting swept would put us in first place. Man that'd be sweet . Let's be more realistic though. Hopefully DU can get a split, same with Tech vs. St. Cloud... that'd put us in 2nd place with the sweep we are GONNA GET just down one point for the MacNaughton Cup with one weekend to go. I'd definitely take that.
  11. I don't think Clarke did enough to stay in the lineup tonight. I think we see Zane. Sure Zane's third goal was a big time softie, but that being said, so was Clarke's for the 5th goal. That rebound HAS TO BE controled. Zane is positionally better than Clarke and with a team as speedy and offensively strong as DU, positioning is huge. Before giving up a couple big goals, Zane was solid on his spots and made a couple really big saves because of his angles. I think Zane comes back in and gets the job done. I may be a bit biased, however... I used to coach the kid in little league baseball We played with a good hop last night for most parts of the game (couple of lulls cost us the game, unfortunately) and that team knows they should have gotten two points Friday. I think we see a motivated team that goes out there and gets two points tonight.
  12. I, for one, appreciate seeing something to talk about other than team suspensions, MIPs and alcohol poisioning. Kind of a rude response. I thank you, fetch, for giving us something to look forward to! DROP THE PUCK!
  13. Now that's funny
  14. My guess is that it was a timing thing. This coming on the heels for Jimmer and Parksy getting in trouble. It's Hak sending a message to a team that has potential to be really really good. Did Knight, Kristo, Mac and Rowns cause the problem? My guess is not, but if it was a whole team at the party, who do you suspend? The captians... I think it's not a big deal and is frankly solved.
  15. Sounds like from what I am hearing that is was just a normal party with a lot of people. I get it, the whole team shouldn't be having a big party, especially after what happened to Jimmer and Parks just a few weeks back, but cmon, they are college kids. My guess is that the party had everyone there, but since they are captains, Mac, Kristo, Knight and Rowns took the blunt of the damage since they couldn't punish everyone. It's just a statement saying 'hey, we could be pretty damn good this year. Quit messin around.' That's the way I see it I guess. I have seen people on other forums already bashing Kristo... give me a flippin break. He's a COLLEGE KID and NO ONE knows the whole story of what happened outside of that locker room. I just hope everyone takes a deep breath and they move on and learn a little.
  16. This was my main point from the start. NO WAY Rocco is playing anywhere but the top two lines. Therefore, you either have him on the wing on the top line or break up the chemistry of Parks-Rowney-McMillian. It would be an awful waste of talent if he's sitting on the third line. He won't see nearly as much ice. Even at less than 100% when he did play, he was the best player (if not close) on the ice at all times. He's too dynamic and explosive to not see top 6 minutes.
  17. Totally forgot about Caggiulla.... here's my new lineup.... Kristo-Knight-Grimaldi McMillian-Rowney-Parks Caggiula-St. Clair-Chyzyk Anyone think this could be a real fun "energy" line to watch?? Pattyn-Gaarder-Rodwell (Sanderson, Jimmer, Mi. McMillian) MacWilliam-Schmaltz Forbort-Matton Gleason-Simpson Gothberg Saunders Maris
  18. Not a CHANCE that Grimaldi is on the third line. I'm sorry, but he's wayyy to talented to waste on that line. Having him at No. 1 wing, he will create more and be created for. Spreading out the lines to make our scoring more "balanced" is jsut nuts. All it does is water down the top of our lines or two. We have A LOT of depth this year and having Grimaldi on the top line gives us one of the best, if not the best, line in the conference. Here's my call: Kristo-Knight-Grimaldi McMillian-Rowney-Parks Rodwell-St. Clair-Chyzyk Pattyn-Gaarder-Sanderson (Jimmer, Mi. McMillian) MacWilliam-Schmaltz Forbort-Matton Gleason-Simpson Gothberg Saunders Maris
  19. For one, I never insinuated the reasoning for his leaving. It's clearly about him not getting playing time. I thought he was soft and that is merely my opinion. And yes, I did wish him well. I have an opinion. Shoot me
  20. I feel like he was the least "Sioux-like" player I have ever seen at UND. Soft... never went into the boards, avoided contact. No grit, no grind. Seemed like a good kid, but definitely didn't ever fit the mold... IMO I guess. Good luck Taylor, I hope the Bisons treat you well. Is anyone else wondering where everyone is gonna fit this season? So many talented forwards.
  21. Who cares? Neither of those things happened and LaLeggia won is anyway.... moving on
  22. Good Lord.... Thank you Sick for finally flexing some muscle.... cmon guys... let's stay on topic and enjoy ourselves on here like we are supposed to.
  23. Ok then... Go SIOUX lol
  24. Ugh guys... all I'm saying is that Saunders played every game behind a hideous defense. I'm thinking his numbers will improve with UND. He wouldnt be coming here if he didn't have talent. We'll see.
  25. Yeah, I guess I shouldn't have called him a godsend.... oh wait... I DIDN'T... thanks for putting words in my mouth. I am simply saying that this kid has been battle tested at the D-I level. Unlike Maris and Gothberg. Can Zane's numbers from the USHL translate to the WCHA? Maybe... I hope so. I used to coach the kid in little league baseball in Thief River, he's a great kid and I hope him a couple national titles at UND, but he hasn't been there yet. You are being extremely hypocritical by saying my stats are anecdotal and then offering one more game in your side of the arguement. I am no where near saying Saunders is in any way a "godsend." I am only saying that his experience shows he can perform. Put this kid behind a top flight defense at UND and he could be pretty damn good. So could Gothberg. It's all for the sake of argument. Do you think those performances in question were all the fault of Saunders? Could it possibly have been the defense in front of him? I think so... Will this kid be elite? I have no clue. Will he be serviceable and better with a good defense? In my opinion, without a doubt.
