Your experience is completely different than mine. I still think of them as the little brother and when I've gone to the Sanford Center for games everyone's super friendly. And yeah they only beat Bowling Green and NMU but they also only allowed 2 goals total in all 4 games. No matter who you play, that's pretty impressive.

Bemidji has some swagger coming into this series, they've started 4-0 with sweeps of Bowling Green and Northern Michigan. Also, they've only allowed 2 goals total in those 4 games.

BC, by their own fans' admission, are having a down year talent wise. They lost the most players to early signing in all of college hockey. They lost a Mike Richter award winning goalie in Thatcher Demko. They lost Miles Wood, Alex Tuch, Adam Gilmour, Ian McCoshen, and Zach Sanford. That's a ton of talent and point production to replace and it's shown in their early season losses to Air Force and Wisconsin who, despite showing promise, still lacks defense and a solid goaltender. BC has a great program, but the team this year can't be classified as great, not at this point at least.

Agreed, I went to a UND v MN game at Ridder Arena and I thought it was a good time. It helps to have that arena specifically built for smaller crowds. The Ralph swallows up any atmosphere they might have at UND women's games.

I don't think it would have to be magic. If you watch UND Hockey show with BB Jost makes a comment that at the end of the Canisius game on Saturday he looked over at Gersich and said something to the effect of "this is the best place ever" referring to the Ralph. Also, know a kid who is in class with him and he made a comment that he might not be here "in a couple years". Obviously things can change but I don't think Jost will be kicking down the door to leave Grand Forks.

Yup, when I first saw $8Mil for a new rink I was thinking it'd be quite the downgrade from World Arena. However, CC could use a rink at least a little closer to campus. They get terrible student turnout at games and a good part of the reason has to be the arena's proximity to campus.

Yup, this was crazy loud. I get chills just remembering this. Not to get too poetic, but it felt like the crowd willed UND to clinch the Penrose Cup that year. Of course, it would've been nice to have Macmillan for the stretch run that year too.

I didn't notice Peski much Friday night, which I considered a good thing for his 1st game.

He looked green, but then again so did Ausmus Wolanin and Shaw at times. My initial though on Johnson was that I liked Peski better but it's early and they both have a lot of growing to do.

He did at times however that 2nd goal doesn't happen if he doesn't play outside the system.
