Right when I posted my comment, I thought to myself... 'I'm going to get some smartass comment asking me if I know the nickname is gone'... and what do you know, we have a winner! Just because they did a renovation and had to stay in compliance, I'm not required to enjoy parts of the Sioux tradition being stripped away from the arena.

Because it is another step, albeit a small one, in the transition away from the Sioux logo and nickname. First Home of the Fighting Sioux words were removed from the outside of the stadium, then a few logos in renovation, 'what's next?' is my line of thinking.

I love the remodel but can't help noticing something really huge missing from this picture... and I hate it

Nick Naumenko, hands down. Don't ask me why but he was my favorite player growing up, which reminds me that I need to get his name embroidered on the back of my Sioux jersey

This^. From Grand Forks and went to school out of state where cops would sit outside college parties just to make sure no one left party with alcohol or got in a car, didn't bother you otherwise. I came back to GF for Christmas Break and was leaving my friend's house on campus. One person had a backpack and we were walking across the street leaving his place. University PD driving, stopped his car in the middle of the street and asked my friend what was in the backpack and basically made him open it, and gave us all minors without breathalyzer. A few of my friends fought it and the cop didn't show up so they were thrown out. Needless to say, it was a shock to me as I'd never dealt with them until that point.

Time to start getting excited for hockey again! Is there any word on when tickets for the Fargo regional will go on sale? I always bought tickets last second in previous year's regionals but something tells me that won't be possible come March-April this year.

I'd say a mix of both works the best.

Bemidji is a great time! Went for my first time this year and it's a fun time with friendlier fans than you're likely to find anywhere else! I'm really excited to make the Wisconsin trip this year and check the Kohl Center off my list, never been!

The real kicker is that you got outplayed most of the game and snuck by a much lower ranked team with a fortunate bounce. Did I mention you didn't win the most important game in the Frozen Four two days later when you were trounced by Union? That's a riot!

I remember thinking that if UND beat UMN, it be a good physical game against Union as both teams seemed similar to me at least. As for who would have won, you can speculate until you're blue in the face but won't get an answer. ...I'd say 6-2 Sioux

I hate that we don't play in Duluth next year. It's one of my favorite trips/arenas/cities to visit for hockey. And it's only a 2 hour drive from Minneapolis!
