How do you look up your NDCC priority number?

Exactly, I thought schloss hit it right on the head. The team looked like they thought they could just show up and win but received a rude awakening. Hopefully moving forward that game will be ingrained in their memory that you have to give every shift all you have on every night to win.

Small sample size to start evaluating or deciding which team is better than others. Also, I don't care about any poll that isn't the pairwise and that's not worth looking at until January.

If we're ok with splitting against teams like CC, we're not making the NCAA tournament. They just snuck by UAH last weekend... we need a sweep this weekend.

I always attributed it to new guys coming into the pro style game UND played, been completely different than anything they have played in before. However, I did like hearing Hakstol acknowledge that they are putting a concerted effort towards starting the season better in his interview with Hammer. I think he's sick of answering questions of why they always start slow and finish strong. And as a fan, it would be a much less stressful season if we didn't have to depend on a great run to the make the tourney.

The 2012 team that played short skaters the majority of the year and managed to win the Broadmoor and a 1 seed despite subpar talent and scoring. When you compare us to other teams in college hockey I would say we are towards the top in effort. Obviously this is a perspective thing though. I mean we consistently make the tournament. I can't remember the last team that fell way short of expectations due to effort. Nothing like UofM losing to Anchorage at home to end their season. So I guess it depends if you hold this team to NHL standards or college because every college team has those games you're referring to.

I agree with what you're saying besides the bolded. Do you have examples of a lack of effort in mind with Sioux teams because from my perspective it's exactly the opposite. The effort and will is there(ala the UNO series last year) but not necessarily the finishing when it comes to scoring.

I think there's a logical reason Zane was left out of the top 10 goalies. USCHO saw Zane Gothberg is no longer on an NCAA team and assumed he left early for the pros. Seriously, it wouldn't surprise me...

Yeah I'm glad that they were able to add some Sioux logos in "historical context" to make up for the ones lost.

Right when I posted my comment, I thought to myself... 'I'm going to get some smartass comment asking me if I know the nickname is gone'... and what do you know, we have a winner! Just because they did a renovation and had to stay in compliance, I'm not required to enjoy parts of the Sioux tradition being stripped away from the arena.

Because it is another step, albeit a small one, in the transition away from the Sioux logo and nickname. First Home of the Fighting Sioux words were removed from the outside of the stadium, then a few logos in renovation, 'what's next?' is my line of thinking.

Nick Naumenko, hands down. Don't ask me why but he was my favorite player growing up, which reminds me that I need to get his name embroidered on the back of my Sioux jersey

This^. From Grand Forks and went to school out of state where cops would sit outside college parties just to make sure no one left party with alcohol or got in a car, didn't bother you otherwise. I came back to GF for Christmas Break and was leaving my friend's house on campus. One person had a backpack and we were walking across the street leaving his place. University PD driving, stopped his car in the middle of the street and asked my friend what was in the backpack and basically made him open it, and gave us all minors without breathalyzer. A few of my friends fought it and the cop didn't show up so they were thrown out. Needless to say, it was a shock to me as I'd never dealt with them until that point.

Time to start getting excited for hockey again! Is there any word on when tickets for the Fargo regional will go on sale? I always bought tickets last second in previous year's regionals but something tells me that won't be possible come March-April this year.

I'd say a mix of both works the best.

Bemidji is a great time! Went for my first time this year and it's a fun time with friendlier fans than you're likely to find anywhere else! I'm really excited to make the Wisconsin trip this year and check the Kohl Center off my list, never been!
