  1. Obviously, it's not just the number but the quality. If I know someone to have stated fact repeatedly you can start to trust their opinion vs. someone is on here repeatedly saying Blais is looking to suit up for UND next year because he has eligibility. I thought that part of my post was pretty clear when I stated a few names I'd trust if they "broke" this news. It didn't include a few names in case you didn't notice
  2. Many posters(you know who you are) like to have the recognition of being the "first" to know something without having credible sources, it's a huge part of what I hate about the media in the current times. They want to be first but being correct comes a distant second. Now, I know this is a message board and we aren't held to these jounalistic standards but I hate seeing people state something as fact when they do not in fact have a legitimate source. The story generally goes they heard through a friend who's uncle had a rental that belonged to the player's best buddy. Or they are flat out lying and want attention. No offense Scorpio, but you have 77 posts on this site and I've never heard a peep from you until now. Now if it was from MM, Oxbow etc. I'd put more faith in this claim.
  3. Yup, faceoffs will be absolutely crucial come NCAA tournament time. Friday was brutal against SCSU as it seemed like we couldn't win a faceoff and allowed their PP to continually set up because of it. But like most every other game this year, we found a way to win.
  4. Great points here that I was too lazy to put together mostly because I thought the article was so slanted I decided not to. Our one bad loss on the year was the 1st game against BSU and people are finding out quickly that the Beavers are a formidable team this year. I think you could make a compelling argument for them to make a run in the Final Five. And we don't have a losing record to any team this year, including the strong ones in the stacked NCHC. And yes, we depend on Zane to be as good as he is. Our team is built around him being solid in net and occassionally stealing games. If we hang #8 it will be in large part to him. I don't see that as a weakness. He's a great goalie and probably top 3 all time at UND. If we win the Saturday game in Boston I will entertain him as the best ever.
  5. ...and proceeded to miss the tournament by losing in the championship game to Denver. I can honestly say I've never seen a more talented team get last place in a conference. That's a level of underachievement even the Gophers would be proud of!
  6. Why was Barber a healthy scratch last weekend? Coach sending a message? I'm assuming he hasn't been playing up to expectations if an upperclassman with Barber's history is sitting... also did Jay Williams have a bad game Saturday night or did the defense let him down in order for him to be yanked? Speaking of goalies, I'm wondering if we'll see Williams or McKay.
  7. Exactly, I chuckled reading it. I put about as much stock into it as the players will.
  8. I don't believe they did... they speculated on it with Virg Foss contributing but as far as I know their story came out at the same time Schlossman and CHN reported it.
  9. That's good, was worried about you for a second
  10. Looks like Nick and Jordan made the top 10... http://www.sbncollegehockey.com/2015/3/3/8136109/2015-top-100-nhl-prospects-ncaa-11-20-gillies-demko-skjei-parayko
  11. One other question for Miami fans (even though the last one didn't get answered): Did anyone ever find Paulides jock strap? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VdEuvucu2Ic If I had a guess I'd say it's probably hanging in the rafters somewhere between our 2nd and 3rd national championship banners... could you send Mr. Bean to pick it up? Sorry, I guess that was 2 questions
  12. Your blueline allows 2.28 GPG vs. our 2.09 which is a significant difference. Also our blue line scores at a higher rate than yours. Last I checked we're 1st in the country, at least before the SCSU series so that could have change slightly...
  13. Question for Miami fans: Goggin Ice Center seems really nice but where does the men's team play?
  14. I wish, I mean even if he had a long shot for regionals and would most likely be ready for the Frozen Four I'd be ecstatic. But you may say I'm a dreamer...
  15. Would it work for about 10 more games? That's all we need
  16. Love the confidence... because it hurts even worse than when we're the ones hoisting that Penrose cup by ourselves Miami has bigger issues than the Penrose Cup... like whose net is it right now? because after the game in Denver on Saturday "it's everyone's net"
  17. Wasn't NS centering the top line for the remainder of Saturday's game? I thought they looked pretty good so why even change it up.
  18. This is very possible. I believe there was under a minute to play when the sign came out. The game was probably over by the time they got to the security office. At that point, yes they do have to leave the arena, just like the other 12k people in attendance.
  19. Absolutely agree, I have already bought tickets and a hotel room so I'll be going regardless. I had a great time last year and although it's not the X I do think Minneapolis has a bit more to offer in terms of restaurants, bars, nightlife etc. before and after the games.
  20. Schloss just tweeted that he'll know more tomorrow and he doesn't expect good news... this sucks.
  21. I figured it was an important point to clarify. I was originally upset thinking they were kicked out too.
  22. Good stuff, really interesting especially bc last year I don't believe the format affected standings at all in the NCHC .
  23. Update in the Herald says students weren't kicked out. It said they followed the sign to the security office to dispute the sign but were free to leave afterwards.
