NORTH DAKOTA vs. DU - THURSDAY F4 Gameday
InHeavenThereIsNoBeer replied to AZSIOUX's topic in Men's Hockey
Along the lines of this conversation I posted part 1 of a blog regarding the frozen four and the semifinal game. https://collegehockeysource.wordpress.com/2016/04/17/frozen-four-recap-pt-1-i-aint-afraid-of-no-ghosts/ -
University of North Dakota Hockey 2016 - 2017 Season

I agree 100%, Stecher was one of the best and most consistent players on our team all year. -
Amen to that!

I'd still choose Boeser in that situation and obviously Rand Pecknold felt the same about Anas. And honestly, you don't know before the game that he's going to need to go to the locker room multiple times in the game. No one can see into the future. That clip matters because he's a dynamic player that has the vision and skill to assist and score goals... which teams need in bunches to have a chance at beating UND. That clip shows that even at 50% he can be a dynamic player. He made 2 or 3 of those plays in the national title game that nearly ended up in the back of our net. You take the 1st line guy that has the potential to add offense even though, yes, there is a possibility of re-injury in hockey. You don't take the 4th line grinder who will "battle along the boards" and more often than not will not make a major difference in the outcome.

I love this story, reminds me of having a sleepover at the Lamoreauxs' house growing up. Non-stop sports and working out.

When you can score goals like this(:18 mark) when you are not 100% that line isn't so black and white: https://www.youtube.com/embed/LNN_w3xjBtU It would be the equivalent of Boeser being 50%. Do you play Mike Gornall or Chris Wilkie at 100% or Boeser at 50?

University of North Dakota Hockey 2015-16 season

You need to at least throw a winky face in if you're going to joke. It's tough to tell otherwise. -
Thank you

University of North Dakota Hockey 2015-16 season

Agreed, at least from the upper deck of Amalie Arena it appeared to me that QU was a tier below and a step behind UND. The only sustained pressure they could muster for the most part was on the powerplays. Sure they hit 2 or 3 posts but we did too. Could we have lost? Sure(See: 2011 Michigan game) but we were absolutely the best team in the country this year and had some stone cold finishers to make sure we didn't. -
I saw a tweet that had the Hennessy's calls of the goals for the Frozen Four. Anyone have that link? I can't find the tweet anymore.

Can you drink beer at your seats for these games? Not sure how IIHF events work...
-
Which means now we can go back to Tampa every year!
-
Yup, it was the 2nd most business they've done in a day. The 1st busiest day, you ask? Game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals
-
Anyone know if the NCAA or UND will eventually sell the replay of the national title game and/or semifinal games on Bluray or DVD? That's a DVD that I could watch over and over again.

Fire Hakstol's Replacement
InHeavenThereIsNoBeer replied to NoiseInsideMyHead's topic in Men's Hockey
My thoughts: Both Hakstol and Berry are awesome coaches and we will hang that 8th banner in October because of BOTH of their contributions to this program. That fair?- 307 replies

A year ago this would be ridiculous, but this is a fair question now. Zane let in some rough goals against BU in the Frozen Four. However, our Dmen with an extra year were at another level than 2015 so that helps too.

I was at The Ralph yesterday and turned to my friend and mentioned this exact same thing after Berry said that.

NORTH DAKOTA @ Quinnipiac - SATURDAY Gameday NCAA TITLE GAME
InHeavenThereIsNoBeer replied to AZSIOUX's topic in Men's Hockey
Piggy backing off this, is there anyway to listen to Hennessy call the national title game or at least UND's goals? -

Yes, I'm a sucker for defending national champions -
Heinen had no chance of staying 4 years but your point is still well-taken. He was absolutely one of the best players I watched UND play against this year.
-
Stecher has given this program more in 3 years than most give in 4. Although I will miss watching him muscle out 2 or 3 guys in a scrum and start a rush up ice, he has deserved UND fans' admiration for years to come. I can't wait to see what he will do at the next level because I truly believe he will get his shot at the NHL.

NORTH DAKOTA vs. DU - THURSDAY F4 Gameday
InHeavenThereIsNoBeer replied to AZSIOUX's topic in Men's Hockey
Yeah I tend to agree. To be one of the top 3 teams you have to at least show up for the NCAAs. SCSU was dominant in the regular season at times but lack of consistent play plagued them. My top 3 are UND, DU, QU. Yes, Quinnipiac got worked by us on Saturday but if Cam doesn't play like the brick wall he is we might have been talking about a closer game. -
I don't care if the shirts refer to us as Fighting Sioux or Fighting Hawks as long as they call us National Champions!

I'd also vote for 'The Money Line'
