  1. Yup, that Hardee's is at the busiest intersection in the entire city and a business can't stay open, crazy. Nope, nothing in the Scheel's yet. Not sure what they plan to do with the space.
  2. That location is cursed. I wonder who will try to take the next crack at it. With Scheel's moved out of that strip mall I'm guessing they just don't see enough traffic to make it work.
  3. It's still one of the best arenas in the world, amateur or pro. You're splitting hairs with your points. Amalie Arena holds 8,000 more people then The Ralph so of course the hallways are going to be wider. Also, I've never heard of a hallway with marble floors being called plain jane before, thanks for the laugh They've updated resolution on the scoreboard and the electronic strip separating the lower and upper bowl. They've updated the locker room and player areas to be nicer than the majority of NHL rinks. The seats are still the most comfortable you'll sit in at any rink. I think you may be looking for things that aren't there. Yes, the light show is a bit dated but I'm more interested in things that will get recruits to play hockey here. I loved the Amalie Arena light show but that's something you install to get butts in seats, the ralph already is sold out for the majority of games.
  4. I understand I don't have to watch(I don't). That wasn't my point.
  5. I guess that surprises me that you like more bowl games. IMO it dilutes the significance of each bowl game by letting everyone play in one. That would be like installing an NIT hockey tournament of the next 16 teams in hockey that didn't make the NCAAs, what's the point? To say you're the 17th best team in college hockey that year?
  6. Obviously it will be the hottest ticket in town, they're playing the defending national champions **Note: I will be merciless in reminding every Gopher fan I encounter/tries to talk crap about our nickname that they shall henceforth refer to us as the defending national champions.
  7. Doesn't pretty much every semi-decent team make a bowl game in college football? I know the Gophers made one last year, which is a joke. I know there's huge money in bowl games, but from a fan's perspective I never understood the consolation prize handed out to teams for winning any bowl game besides the National Championship.
  8. My final blog post on the Frozen Four national title game: https://collegehockeysource.wordpress.com/2016/04/24/frozen-four-recap-pt-2-we-will-not-be-denied/
  9. Maybe we should drop down to DIII so we can do so UND is the best college hockey team in the country, NDSU is the best college football team in the... D1-AA?
  10. What if there was a Blizzard and it's name was 'Ditka'?
  11. The longer it goes without a decision the more it makes me think he's at least considering the possibility.
  12. Don't disagree with anything stated there.
  13. I never said he wasn't. We were comparing the two teams and who would win in a hypothetical matchup. Dell's number are impressive... Cam's are impressive-er.
  14. Cam's year this year was better statistically when compared to Dell besides shutouts. Save %: Dell .924 Cam .935 GAA: Dell 1.79 Cam 1.65 SO: Dell 6 Cam 5 W/LT: Dell 30-7-2 Cam 24-4-2 To answer your last point, I remember exactly as they were. I followed the '10-11 team really closely. They were dominant no doubt but IMO I'd pick this year's heavy line and Cam to limit chances to the Pony Express. I'd be interested in seeing the goal margin differential, SOS, GPG, GAPG Of course of all of this is hypothetical so don't take it too seriously but it's an interesting comparison to me.
  15. It surprised me that people think this team wasn't talented. You basically had a 'DOT-esque' 1st line , a heavy line that shut down other teams' top lines, a 4th line that scored consistently in the 2nd half of the year, along with the best group of dmen UND has had in a long time. The only real question going in was goaltending and Cam set UND records in that department. I know this might not be a popular opinion but I think this team beats the '10-'11 team, albeit just barely.
  16. Im insanely curious what this could be about with Tim and Paul...
  17. Really? We're arguing/considering whether Berry will be fired if he has some down years a mere 12 DAYS after he just returned our program to the top of college hockey?! ... never change SiouxSports.com
  18. We outshot them 40-20, just couldn't bury our open nets chances of which we had plenty.
  19. This is a great point. I sometimes almost forget that Hakstol essentially chose Berry to come back to the program again if he wanted to. Because October is 6 months away and I already miss college hockey
  20. I think people are disagreeing with it respectfully and providing examples. Maybe you could provide examples that back up your side? Like a time when he's split up big players. I'm not saying you're wrong either, I believe he did move Grimaldi around a bunch w/ different combos but he did have the big lines that were previously noted as well.
  21. Honestly, I enjoy the rivalries we are building with UMD, UNO, Denver, SCSU etc. too much to give that up for playing UMN and WI. The NCHC feels like it gets our team battle tested for the NCAAs. We've made 3 frozen fours and won a national championship since starting the rigorous NCHC grind. I'm not saying it's the only reason for our success but I think it definitely helps!
  22. I wouldn't talk to my kid
