Might do Minot if my day drags out and I am close by, snowing now so with more snow I may be able to watch in Dickinson.

This may come as a surprise to you, but reading Siouxsports daily for ten years, I have never given you or what you say a second thought. My first impression of everything you have written would suggest you are from the land of fruit and nuts, was bullied as a child and pass out at the sign of blood.

What would age range run on an adventure like this, I am too old to take a 20 hour party run with a bunch of twentysomethings.

Anybody else in on this? Are there other contests? http://www.pickemhockey.com/bracket/standings.php?action=sort&s=rank&o=ASC&p=34

I agree, where are those players coming from? Is the CHL recruiting hurting UND more than others because of where we recruit vs. the less storied programs? I don't know, I have many more questions than answers.
-
same here
-
I think the CHL watched the best NHL player (Toews) come from the NCAA and started aggressively going after recruits that would have gone our way. I realize my opinion of Toews may not be shared by everyone, but I think he is and that is a black eye for the CHL.
-
The two losses I am you are referring to are Miller and Matteau. We also missed Seth Jones. How many non visible recruits did we miss out?

As devils advocate to the argument that coach hakstol stays because no others out there are better, maybe we don't need a better coach, just a different coach
-
Well said, I didn't think it, but I sure hoped, cheered and dreamed for it. I want a championship, but not enough to engage in embarrassing behavior on a message board. As much pride as I have in the program, I am becoming embarrassed of the fans on this website. I actually hope most fans do not behave like this, but hearing the crowd taunting the coach last night was very embarrassing. Stay classy Sioux fans.

Rumor has it that NCHC.com will be, I assume(hate that word) that the other games of the weekend were/are on CBSSN and so they could not be on the internet. But this one can..

I usually don't even acknowledge football or basketball references, but that is the funniest line of the year.
-
One of many roots: game strategy, lack of adaptation, CHL fishing from the same pool, curse of the Ralph, but on my defense, surely you have noticed the way the internet has turn adults into childish, embarrassing, butt heads
-
Can you explain this to me?
-
I wonder what thoughts went through the players minds when the crowd yells "Fire Hak". If that was any other teams fans yelling at their coach, everyone on here would have thought it was rude, childish and in poor taste (excluding the regular gf drunk).
-
So no players have twitter accounts, or are on facebook. No players get asked for autographs as a freshman. No players walk into the Ralph and go wow I better bring it every moment that I'm here. No players don't see the Stanley Cup wall at the Ralph and think how they need to excel to play at this level. I am not a great hockey mind, but I thought in 2011, players tried to do it themselves too much and I think that is what the empty net misses(well not totally empty) are stemming from. They need to relax and play it like a kid's game. The "sea of green" makes them want to try harder than they ever have...

One of the reasons for our situation(IMHO) is fan pressure. These young men are exposed to a ton of pressure with all the social media that fans utilize. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't missing an open net considered a result of gripping the stick too hard as they say. The fancy rink, all the NHL connections, press conferences, social media may be too much for the average or slightly above average college player. Elite player (Toews, Oshie, Parise) relish that spotlight and pressure. The CHL has basically took our high end players that we needed to hit the net and forced the role players into that role. Just my thoughts on this sickening morning.
