Reichmuth has also had some bad games this year. Hopefully that does not mean they have Michael Ayers syndrome. A 1.5 GAA is good, but even better on a team like Brown, where the talent around him is thin. Goaltending starts with confidence. If you can beat Danis early, the game may get out of hand, but if he gets off to a hot start, it may be a close 1-2 goal affair.

Dogz have signed 3 so far for 2004: Matt McKnight W (AJHL)--6-2 190. Leads team (Camrose Kodiaks) in G, A, and Pts. 11-19-30 in 22 games. Travis Gawryletz D (BCHL)--6-0 195. Leads team (Trail Smoke Eaters*) D-men with 2-7-9 in 14 games. Jay Rosehill D (AJHL)--6-3 200, should add size to blueliners. 204 PIM last year. 1-4-5 in 14 games this season. Plays for Olds Grizzlies. 2003 7th round pick; TB. *--What kind of nickname is that?? ...and yes, I think Reichmuth will/should be drafted.

You just HAD to remind everyone, didn't you. I don't know what was the deal with UMD and multi-OT games. They lost the '84 NC game to Bowling Green in 4 OT's.
-
Oh you poor dears! UMD has only one pro draftee (Neil Petruic--D Ottawa Senators). Sandy does a great job of recruiting, but it's difficult to compete with teams like UM, UND, etc.

Playing the #1 team in the nation should motivate stars like Danis to be on top of their game. The Sioux cannot afford to look at this tournament as a much needed break from the rigors of WCHA competition. Rather they must regard it as a test of will. I'm sure that CB will have his players ready. I doubt the word cupcake has been mentioned anywhere near the Sioux locker room.

Gee, thanks!!

So, in the end, who is responsible for the empty seats?? The fickle fans? The teams that have poor seasons? Or the schools that charge too much for seats?
-
I hope it wasn't my post that put it over the edge. I was trying to post a message, and a bunch of weird tekkie jargain came on the screen.

Too bad there aren't more "through thick and thin" types in Duluth. People don't want to help push the sled up the hill, but they hop on for the ride down. True, the Dogs had some bad years in the late 90's and early 00's, but can't people see that without their support, the team will keep spinning their wheels? I only wish I could attend more games, but I live in the cities, so it's difficult to get up there for a weekend. I've worn my UMD jersey proudly at the Final Five (even the years when the Dogz finished last), and the Dogs can always count on me as a fan...no matter what.

I'm glad you didn't lump Dogz fans in with the "people who need to chill".

How much atmosphere did the Curling Club have??

He wears size 22 shoes...AND he's single?? Maybe that is just a rumor....

The reason the state will fund it is because it will bring in conventions and other moneymaking opportunities for the state. Tourism is a huge source of revenue, and the state will do almost anyting to increase its tourism income.

Favorite moment from Saturday night: The Dogs leaving Grand Forks, never to return this season!!
-
Some Duluth high schools play at the DECC also. Anyway, I have never seen BSU's arena, so I can't say. With the addition of BSU to the WCHA, there will be 5 teams from Minnesota in the WCHA. Duluth struggles with recruiting as it is. Now 5 teams will be fighting over the top kids in the state. Plus UND coaxing our kids up there...

Hey Goon...Who swept Colorado College this weekend??
-
I have to say, I pretty much expected this to happen. Friday was a huge game for the Dogs to win, and they couldn't get it done. Welcome to 3rd place. We probably won't be sharing it for long.
-
Glen Taylor financed the Mankato arena. Why does BSU need a new stadium?? They're not in the WCHA yet...(nor do I think they should be)
-
You have a strange impression of mediocrity. SCSU and UMD are ahead/tied with the Sioux in the WCHA standings. Right now, I would put Minnesota in UMD's place on that list!
-
I heard the Duluth guys on the air last night, and it sounds like the deal is giong to get done. It would be a HUGE step for the Dogs and would help recruiting immensely!! Here's hoping!
-
Yeah...they would have great players for 4 years instead of one or two!!
-
Uhhhhh, actually they have made rule changes to make it more difficult for teams that peak at the end of the season to make the NCAA field. They no longer consider "record over last 15 games" as criteria for deciding who stays and who goes. Ask any Dogs fan. Peaking at the end is only good if you go all the way in the conference tourney. It was rather difficult seeing 4 teams from the WCHA, (three of whom the Dogs beat in the final 11 games of the season: UM once, SCSU twice, UND twice + one tie) get in and the Dogs left out in the cold, despite peaking when teams are supposed to peak. So don't tell me that it is "set up" to reward late peaking teams...you're just pouring salt in the wound, man!!

Stupid pen taken by Greene. Seems he "had the angle"? 5-4 Dogs lose.
