Huge opportunity for Union here, even though they're winning it almost feels like they need one here.

It is the same Hockey East one we had Thursday but they have been pretty inconsistent both ways.

How did this crew of refs get the championship they have been absolutely horrible both ways. Minnesota has slowly turned things around and it just feels like they will get one early in the 3rd. I know Gostibehere is good with the puck but do these guys not see the way he runs all over at times in the d zone and puts himself out of position?

Was just about to post that too. Seems like their defense has tightened up some and they're starting to move the puck around pretty good.

Was definitely stupid and late but most refs won't make the call without the type of reaction the Union player gave.

It was in between the periods so I'm sure most were just trying to direct their anger elsewhere.

Looked at Twitter and saw the many Gopher fans tweeting Buccigross mad at him. Some good stuff asking him when he is gonna propose to Gostibehere, telling him to tell Barry to quit calling them Minny, and asking if they could be any more biased. I actually wouldn't be surprised if Buccigross had a Gostibehere jersey on under his suit.

Even my brother who is a Gopher fan thought that one would get called. Union can't complain too much there has definitely been enough weak calls to go around.

Does help when there isn't anyone really trying to stop them from doing it though.

Gophers look like they have no interest in playing defense at all, completely different team than that played the Sioux on Thursday.

Don't think Union can play this type of game against the Gophers were they just keep trading chances. Thought we would see them try to make it tough for them in the neutral zone like we did but they definitely haven't so far.

I'm not for either team tonight but I honestly think the Gophers will win and wouldn't really care if Minnesota does win it. Buccigross is almost unlistenable with the way he is all over Gostisbehere. Did they say these are the same refs that reffed our game? because they are already calling it completely different.

I think he probably just screwed up the year for Shaw and would really doubt if he came in this fall with how young he is and when he committed. Would be pretty surprised to see Shaw here next season. He is pretty young and has USHL eligibility left and UND will have 7 very solid defenseman on the roster. 2015 or 2016 would be much more likely for Shaw to come in but who knows.

I know Schloss has mentioned it on the live chat before but I'm not sure if I can remember it all. I know two are at Wisconsin and Providence comes to UND.

Hasn't been updated in a while Mantha is looking more like a 2015, not sure when Rowe, Voltin, and Pelnik will come in if they ever make it to campus. Only possible add to what I posted would be another forward Shane Gersich.

Definitely got all the stereotypes in that one but I think my favorite sterotype that Gopher fans use all the time is that UND is a bunch of overage Canadian's. Seems to me it has been a while since we brought in a 22 year old Canadian freshman, but I'm sure they will continue to say it when our roster will only have 10 or so Canadians on it the next couple seasons.

Putting Johnson there was more just trying to put him with Simonson because I thought they played together before and may have some previous chemistry but I could be wrong on that too and if I'm wrong I could easily see Johnson and Olson flopped. With the lineup we can have next season the way I look at it is there should be an opportunity to have 3 pretty balanced scoring lines. Agree on Ausmus but I do think Poolman will push for playing time right away too and we could have a similar defensemen situation to this season. One thing that seems to stick out right now is there seems to be much better depth for next season and there definitely could be guys who have played a number of games already for the Sioux fighting just to get in the lineup.

My way too early lineup prediction: Schmaltz-MacMillan-Parks Caggiula-Grimaldi-Olson Pattyn-Gaarder-St.Clair OD/Chyzk-Simonson-Johnson LaDue-Schmaltz Thompson-Stecher Mattson-Ausmus/Poolman Gothberg Johnson Hrynkiw Outside looking in: Ausmus/Poolman, OD/Chyz, Murphy, and Sanderson Have Simonson and Johnson played on the same team before? I was thinking they have and that was part of the reason I put them on the same line. This gives us 3 pretty balanced lines capable of producing offensively along with a line that can play very physical and grind things out. Defensively there aren't the ideal left/right pairs but I tried to match guys based on the type of role I think they will play and also a little bit of stay at home/offensive styles although most all our d guy play an offensive style.

Agree I would guess he will see himself in a rotation with one of the other defensemen for most of the season similar to Ausmus and Thompson this year. I also would not be surprised at all to see Olson, Schmaltz, and Simonson in the lineup up front right from the beginning of the season.
