He'd give pretty much anything to be out on the ice with his teammates, but isn't physically able to due to some medical issues. Being a senior, I'm glad he was able to go down to Denver with the team since there are no travel roster restrictions.

I mean, not a stretch to say Geno would have been an all-conference player this year considering he did it his sophomore and junior years and that would have made a significant difference for a team that didn't really have a true point guard. Yes, UND had their shot at Omaha and they couldn't quite get it done. If they could gotten "lucky" and managed to shoot 48.6% from 3 instead of right in line with their season average of 37%, they would have had 6 additional points, which would have worked out nice since they lost by 5. But they didn't. Just for reference, NDSU didn't have a single 3 game stretch all season where they hit over 40% from 3 in each game until the Summit League tourney. They did it at the right time, hats off to them.

NDSU won because they shot 10-20, 14-26 and 10-24 from 3's (48.6%) over a three game stretch, significantly above their season average of 35.5% heading into the tournament. That calculates out to three extra 3-pointers per game. Tough to do in three games in three days. They did and beat the teams they faced regardless of who it was, congrats to them.

Watching a bit of him in high school and considering his injury history, he's a long way off from being a contributor.

Not sure what you're talking about, MW never received any sort of extension, she was on her original contract that was approved by GT. There's no question that DR gets a 3-4 year extension at this point to add on to the year remaining. Shades of Jones' extension, though he was in the last year of his contract, not the second to last.

But this incident happened at the SHAC.....which is an NDSU owned facility....so the staffing related issues have something to do with ndsu. And according to the article, the staffing isn't the only issue with the facility in regards to ADA.

D'oh kay. I don't think a first MIP deserves public humiliation so I'm not publicly throwing out names, those happen with college kids. Disorderly conduct for fighting the night of a playoff game is borderline, but whatever. The assistant coach getting a DUI a week or two after he was hired and instead of reporting it, a puff piece was written on him was an interesting editorial decision, but that was a while back and he's gone now anyway. My point is I agree with not publishing every small transgression being the right decision but that the narrative that the Forum actually does that is far from accurate.

Just because they aren't publicly reported doesn't mean it didn't happen and people don't talk. Plus, like it was stated, they are public record, not hard to verify.

True, it is public record, but when's the last time the Forum reported a minor for a football player? There was even a disorderly conduct the night of a playoff game that didn't get a mention. There's been plenty of opportunities over the last few years to report on them and they haven't touched them. I don't personally think a kid's first MIP really reaches the level of "news", and but just pointing out that the days of those being reported in Fargo are long in the past.
