My understanding was that he enrolled at Parkland College in Champaign last fall, which I believe started his eligibility clock, meaning he will have used 1 of his 5 years to complete his 4 years of eligibility. I could be wrong though. On a related note, here is an article from the Chicago Tribune that he is mentioned in that talks about grades and eligibility and partially explains how he ended up at UND. Touches on the coaches at UND staying on top of the student athletes and working with them on their academics.

I only see the MVC adding one new team. They like the balanced schedule of 10, with 18 conference games and there is less schools to split their NCAA MBB money with. Unless they are expecting to lose more teams, I don't see them going to 12. Not sure if it will affect the Summit. They need to be concerned about Oakland moving to the Horizon or Denver being the team that the MVC picks. My best guess is ORU or Denver.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe he will be playing right away and won't have a red-shirt year available to him.
-
Also, there has not been a large amount of "new" members either. Regardless, UND has fared better, particularly on the road, than a lot of people had thought they would.
-
Wonder if is there the possibility of each team having the logo in their team colors similar to what the Big Sky does.
-
I would guess that the student organization NoDak Nation (formerly Sioux Crew) is the group that runs the trips. I believe they were the ones they were in charge of the Omaha trip with the infamous stop in Summit, SD.

Eagle's Crest (King's Walk) has a pretty good Sunday brunch buffet as well.

I didn't purchase tickets, but from the e-mail:

I got the e-mail as well. Interesting that they are sending it out to UND Champions Club members. I would guess that other schools' booster club members must get some sort of presale oppurtunity as well. Tournament is Friday and Saturday March 21/22 consisting of the 4 winners from the conference quarterfinals, played at home ice of the top four regular season finishers (no real surprise on the format other than the 3rd place game). Lower bowl and first 8 rows of upper level are all one price with the remainder another price. The e-mail also states that this is a reservation only and the seat locations will be assisgned at a later date, but location is prioritized based on when you purchase your reservation.

Here are the last 10 years. Italicized games did not have the home team involved in the championship game. Only twice in the last 10 years has the host team not made the finals. No clue how these compared to the host team's average attendance during the year. I would imagine the Betty would be beyond sold out if UND was playing for a chance to go to the Dance. 2003 - 10,121 Weber over EWU in Ogden 2004 - 4,615 EWU over NAU in Cheney 2005 - 1,825 Montana over Weber in Portland 2006 - 3,163 Monanta over NAU in Flagstaff 2007 - 9,178 Weber over NAU in Ogden 2008 - 4,113 Portland St over NAU in Portland 2009 - 1,546 Portland St over Montana St in Ogden 2010 - 6,308 Montana over Weber in Ogden 2011 - 3,182 UNC over Montana in Greeley 2012 - 7,042 Montana vs. Weber in Missoula

NORTH DAKOTA vs. BEMIDJI STATE - Saturday SENIOR NIGHT
jdub27 replied to AZSIOUX's topic in Men's Hockey
So regular season and conference tournament championships aren't considered success to you then? You must just cringe when you see the banners for those hanging from the rafters or walls of the REA. The nerve of UND celebrating and glorifying things that some fans don't deem as success. If you think that acknowledging those as accomplishments is acting "high and mighty" than I don't know what to tell you. -
NORTH DAKOTA vs. BEMIDJI STATE - Saturday SENIOR NIGHT

You're arguing both sides here. On one hand you are saying we have had too many "NHL talented players" to not win, then you follow it up by saying we should go away from that and have less talented players because they would stick around more and we'd win a national championship. You're saying the reason those teams should have won was because of all the talent on them but you think the answer is to have less talent on the team for guys that stick around, taking spots away from the guys with all talent that are the reason you think UND should have won a national championship in the last decade. Don't get me wrong, I don't think there are many fans that don't think UND should have won a national championship over the last decade, but guess what, they haven't. A team only needs to run off 4 games in March to win a title, but you can't do that if you aren't in the tournament. There are very few teams that consistently put themself in position to do that and UND is one of them. If you can't see that, then you need to step back from the ledge and refocus. -
From earlier comments made on here, I'm surprised that JJ Robertson was not on that list. I really like seeing Golladay on that list though.
-
I assumed he pointed as he was recognizing the great play Gleason made. He definitely shot it towards Rocco and not the net. I didn't see Rocco's comments about not touching it, but the video I saw made it look like he did. Doesn't matter either way. I do agree, none of them care who put it in, just that it went in.
-
I agree. It looked like Gleason shot it at Grimaldi for the tip and Rocco converted.

The uproar and meltdown from some of the hockey only fans would be amazing to watch.

No. Hakstol said that he did not want to ask any of them to break their game day routine. He followed that up by saying if possible, he would like to have all six of them come and speak at a luncheon when the season is over. Not off the top of my head. Happy how the team has grown in the last month. Last Friday's loss can be partially blamed on some self-inflicted mistakes. Spoke very highly of the group of seniors. Overall, nothing that stuck out taht I can remember. He was pretty brief today. Tom Serratore stole the show and was quite entertaining.
-
Faison was the one that gave him an extension last summer. Can't let him off the hook that easy!
-
The latest episode was shown at the booster luncheon today per Hakstol's request. Good stuff.
-
I agree. The first few times I saw him out there, I had some concerns about his size. His hard work and effort make up being a few inches shorter than alot of the guys he guards.

In recent years, the travel has not been all that impressive to say the least, but it wasn't all that long ago where UND fans did travel in decent numbers to away football games. There is a core group of fans/tailgaters that would make the trip to Brookings or Vermillion regardless. And if the team is doing well or coming off a successful season, I think there would be a decent showing.
-
Fargo would be as many tickets are availabe, which at this point isn't much. Brookings and Vermillion would be a decent showing but alot of it would depend on how the team has done on the field that year or previous year. No different from any other school, but history shows that UND does have fans that are willing to travel.
-
Home and home's with them are fine. Quality OOC games against teams in one of the stronger conferences. Fans can travel to relatively easy and not much strain on the travel budget for the athletic department. But I agree that "need" is a little strong. We don't "need" to play them for everyone to remember how close the schools are and the history between them.

As Brewster said, best of luck to both girls.
