I would bet it will occur during Edmonton camp as I think Paukovitch is a Oiler draft pick. Mr. Greene, meet Mr. Paukovitch. On a side note, I see where Greene got into another fight in the Colorado game the other night. Anybody see the game and could comment on the outcome? Greene was also shown in a recent SI picture fighting some other guy. Looks like he is really taking on the enforcer role in the Edmonton lineup. Lastly, I loved seeing the Dogs beat DU last night in Denver. Duluth has some offensive talent. 4 points against UMD is no guarantee. The Sioux will need to come to play every weekend from here on in.

The Gophers will be fine, plenty of time to right the ship. They have some real talent. I was impressed with EJ, Goligoski, and Okposo the most. Also, I really thought Lucia was a player that played with a lot of hustle. I'd like to hear from a Gopher fan who has seen them play if the lose of Hirsch hurt their power play. Also, there were a number of bounces that went UND's way and the Gophers did not get good goaltending either night. That said, the Sioux just played with way more heart and intensity. I hope we see each other again in the Final 5 and the Frozen Four. I hope if both teams make the tourney that we get sent to different regionals. With the exception of last year, the Gophers have played tough come March.

Amen Taz. Besides, you can't teach a real, hard nosed hockey player to just start taking dives. Diving has to be taught when kids are young and growing up dreaming of playing for the mighty Gophers.

I think so. It always helps to play (and win) against higher ranked teams. With the next few weekends against non-ranked teams, tomorrow's game would help a great deal in moving the Sioux up the ladder. Call my cynical of the NCAA, but I don't want to be a bubble team come selection time.

I think there is a thread entitled "What's Wrong with Sioux Hockey" or something similar in the archieves. As someone who wears my green glasses all the time, could you experts do me a favor and post your future manifestos on everything wrong with Sioux hockey in the appropriate forum. It's really the more appropriate place for all you hockey experts to go and analyize what is wrong with Sioux hockey, and explain how our recruites and players suck. There, you can all pat each other on the back for all your great observations and hockey insight, and work on setting up the FireHackstol.com web site. Plus, you won't have to read posts from glass wearers like myself. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

The three forwards? I would agree with Watkins, major or not, don't put yourself in the position where you can be gone for the game. I'm not sure how a ref makes the distinction. From my simplistic view, it just didn't look that bad. Anybody know what the criteria is. I do know that the refs spent a couple minutes discussing it before the decision was made on the major. I do agree with redwing that the game was officiated very well. No ticky tack calls. I'm not sure who the other two would be. I thought Oshie's line played well. I thought Porter and Kaip were solid although Porter did not bury a couple of great chances. The Freshman line created some chances. Mertens had a few really nice plays. By process of elimination, that leaves Fabian, Kozek, who am I missing, . Didn't think anyone stuck out as having a poor effort but what the heck do I know. The problem with being so shorthanded is that the lineup stays pretty much the same tonight. Hopefully the altitude and the short bench won't be a factor.

Here's one for you? Why do people think that mental illness is something you take a pill for and it goes away or like a broken ankle that heals with time. It is not something that you can turn on and off and decide how it affects your life? Most mental illness is not a "problem" that you "get over". As Siouxdonyms has said, unless you have first hand experience, you really have no idea how mental illness can impact all areas of your life. Hirsh's problems were documented after the Final Five incident. The comment that maybe he "got over" that problem and now maybe just has a bad attitude shows a complete understanding of the issue. That said, go ahead and speculate and ask more questions. Some of the comments on this thread would have pissed me off a few years back. However, you deal with them enough, you just get to the point where you write them off as people spewing about something they know nothing about.

Just back from the game. A few observations. Lammy played awesome. Some huge saves. Didn't read the thread but all you Lammy bashers better shut your pie holes at least with respect to tonights game. He deserved a W. Sioux moved the puck well but couldn't bury one. No near enough traffic in front of the net. That said, Zaba did make some huge saves. CFB call on Watkins was WEAK. No doubt a penalty but no way was it a major. Could hurt with short bench as the Sioux really looked gassed the last 5 minutes or so. Oshie is fun to watch. The kid deserves some breaks. Had a great time. Good turn out of Sioux fans. Tomorrow is another day. I smell a W.
