  1. I am going to be in Fargo this weekend. Can anyone tell me if the game is on their or who might be able to get it?
  2. ZeroPepperoni rates right up there with those no talent a$$ clowns from FOX Minnesota.
  3. It wouldn't surprise me if thay hang a banner in honer of it.
  4. Did we outshoot (play) them?
  5. General admission tickets go on sale Monday, December 29th for the SCSU/UND men's hockey game at 9:00 am. 1-877-SCSUTIX or your local ticket master.
  6. OK. Hard work and putting the puck on the net will pay off, but I would say lucky goal before I say amazing goal.
  7. Very stupid and dangerous. I seriously hope that REA is not allowing this. This is the sort of things that people die doing. Even if it is full gear and there are medical professionals on hand the numbers of peole that are getting f---ed up doing this is alarming. Let the Canadiens keep it for their second native sport, we don't need it.

    BADgers

I have seen them play six times this year and I don't mean to sound like a broken record, but there is not a weak team in this conferance contrary to belief. Take your homer glasses off and look objectively at all the teams in the WCHA this year and prove me wrong. Wisconsin is the real deal. They may not be the best team, but they are a young team that doesn't know that they are good or bad which makes them more dangerous than any good team. Just when you you think you rolled them up they come back and take the points right out from under you. Ask Minnesota and St Cloud about this. I am sure they thought they had it in the bag. To think that this task is going to be any easier when the the Sioux travel to Madtown (not to mention the Badgers might be in a position to take the title) is thinking with your heart not reality. Here is something else to think about if the their are weak teams in the WCHA. If the season ended today we would be facing the Gophers (all be it at home) in the first round of the playoffs. Is that the weak match up that you are all looking for to contribute to the Sioux qualifying for the NCAA tourney. DO NOT take any team in this league lightly and don't be suprised to see three teams in the six or lower seeds make it to the final five.
  9. I like all the points brought up. Here is a different way of looking at the question. Most of you say you prefer the college game over the pros. I would guess a good number of you have the opportunity to watch the Sioux whether in person or on tv/satelite. The hidden message I seem to be hearing is that you prefer the college game because it is the Sioux that you are watching play everyone else. So is it more exciting to watch Bemidji State vs. Alabama- Huntsville or the Wild play Detroit?
  10. I agree with dogs (Did I just say that). If anything there is more parity in the WCHA than any league and I would say easily the toughest conference. I have stated on this post and others that the biggest competition the Sioux will have this year is not so much the other team, but taking the other team lightly. Every Sioux fan wants to think that teams like AA and Michigan Tech are cupcake, but go out and look at those teams stats and what they have done to the so called better teams in the WCHA. They have played them tough and been in just about everygame. You may call it clutch and grab, but I call it different styles that give you the WIN!
  11. However, you can't score if you don't shoot. This team has been guilty of moving the puck a little too much and not pulling the trigger on the pp.
  12. Denver sweeps St Cloud. You can always tell when it is getting close to CHristmas for St. CLoud
  13. I said playoffs, not regular season. We all no the dogs got screwed last year, but had they made it through into the NCAA PLAYOFFS, they may have one it all as well! :
  14. The true hockey fan would tell you that the game is as exciting as your ties to the sport. Watching a field of mini-mites follow the puck around the ice like a swarm of killer bees can be just as entertaining as any level that you might watch if you truely appreciate the game. To say one level of the sport is better than any other lacks true understanding because they all bring their unique qualities. College has the up and coming players and brings school spirit into the mix. However, each game is not as important as someone mentioned earlier. Todays college playoff system is designed to reward the team that peaks at the end of the year with the national championship ie. Gophers. The pro game is much more physical and a hell of a lot faster with a playoff system that becomes more gueling than the 80 game schedule. Bottom line "If you love the game, you need to appreciate all levels that play the game because it is the determination of the players to make it to the pros that bring you the quality college team that you enjoy watching."
  15. It is always fun to see the Gophers at the bottom of the pack, but as a life long Sioux fan I caution all of you to take the wins that the Gophers are racking up quite serious. Michigan Tech has never been a perenial winner in the WCHA, but with the increase of teams in the NCAA (which some might say is watering down the leagues) I think that you would be hard pressed to think that there is not great parity in the WCHA this year. Michigan Tech has been in every game that they play. They have some players that can put the puck in the net, just look at the current standings. The biggest mistake that the Sioux can make this year is taking any team lightly in the WCHA this year. It is great to sweep the teams that you think that you may split with, but it is even more important to sweep the teams that you are expected to beat. This is something that the Sioux have struggled with in the past couple of years by not showing up for every game, ie. was there not a game last year against a "soft" team that the Sioux lost to where the players were repremanded for watching the big screen before the game instead of mentally preparing themselves???
  16. Top Ten Reasons Saint Cloud will lose: 10) PETA protesters won't let players in building. 9) Players did not sell enough advertising banners to pay for trip. 8) Stearn's County Syndrome 7) You have to know how to count to 7 before you win 7. 6) Beer sales will open when players arrive. 5) St. Cloud should have hired Gagliardi. 4) Conboy's night to walk the corner for Superman 3) Coach will be working on acceptance speach for participation banner. 2) Coole realizes he can transfer again. 1) Too Busy Sucking On Their Paws!!!!!!
  17. I was happy to see Travis get his first point of the regular season. He has been working hard all year, but playing a lot like last year rookie Bouchard. Very tentitive in the defensive zone and making a lot of turn overs that fortunately have not been costly for the Wild. I hope that they are patient with him because he is a true threat when the puck is in the offensive zone. The longer he stays up up the more his confidence will build. Bouchard was the same way last year, but this year he came in and is twice the player because he doesn't feel like he is going to get sent down after every game.
  18. It looks like the paper was a little sour about the losses by adding the recent criminal woes of the team.
  19. If the Conner line from Michigan Tech keeps it up they will be at 100 half way through the season
  20. Just food for thought. The puck that hit the little girl that died only triggered an undetected medical condition that was inevitable for the little girl. Unfortunately, it was only a matter of time for her and could have been caused by a variety of scenerios. On the otherhand I have season tickets for the WILD and must admit that I did not care for the netting at first, but over time you will forget that it is there if they do put it up. The only thing that you will miss is the puck flying into the beer cups
  21. Greyeagle, you beat me to the punch. If we are talking greatest all time Bob Peters should be on the list. Just because his success did not come at the DI level, c'mon look at the titles and credentials.
  22. He was, but played defense to quarterback the powerplays.
  23. This is your first mistake, followed by your second.
  24. If five years the Sioux have a bad season there will be no need for scalpers. Second, I knew the title would capture interest, that is why I used it. It is not my topic title that will hurt the team, it will be the wannabe fans that are afraid to get off their asses and cheer on the team when it counts. You are right there are other teams that I can cheer for for a lot less like the Minnesota WILD!!
