Here is statement from Chaves. I guess it was too much to expect him to outline a real strategy but this seems pretty generic and timid. "North Dakota State’s move to the FBS and the Mountain West is a significant decision for their institution. At UND, our priority remains building nationally competitive programs that are sustainable, fiscally responsible and aligned with who we are. We continue to be proud members of the best FCS conference in the nation. College athletics is evolving rapidly, but our focus is steady: serving our student-athletes, strengthening UND’s national profile and positioning this university for continued long-term success.”

The President's Office has been permanently moved to Carnegie. They remodeled the building and completely removed all the additions that were not original.
-
A move like that would essentially be the end of the program. It's basically at rock botton right now.

Unfortunately, we have had a string of suspect AD's since Terry Wanless was run out of town. The success of the 90's is a distant memory and the leadership over the last two decades has been a big part of the problem.
-
If you can get Craig Smith right now, then I'm all for it. Make the move. Unless you can hit a home run like that, I don't think you will find the right person in the middle of a season.
-
My preference would be to wait for the end of the season. I don't want Chaves to decide that the "interim" coach did such a great job that they deserve the permanent position with no search.

Seems like a very questionable position to take considering he coaches in a sport that is 56% African American. If I was a young African American recruit, I would certainly consider a head coach's support of TPUSA when selecting a school. As already mentioned, this kind of post should be made from a private account and not an offical UND one. Maybe he's hoping for a new career after this season.

This is a great quote from Quincy regarding the highlights they showed when he was selected. UND was very lucky to have him! I hope he has many successful years in the CFL. "They were showing clips, and I'm glad they had the horns down clip against NDSU in there."
-
Feels like he is just running out the clock.

According to Coach Sather's interview with Izzo when the game was first announced, there is no court at the Ralph. The one utilized for the Kansas game is no longer playable and the cost to acquire a new court would be prohibitive for one game. A packed Betty will be a great atmosphere.

Although waiting for your pizza until a long train passed by might have been annoying.

I'm doing the same. At this point in my life, I'm not willing to waste my time, money or emotional capital on an athletic department that has shown zero interest in rising above mediocrity. There is no justification for this extension and it's just the latest in a series of questionable decisions under Chaves. Unfortunately, I don't believe it will make any difference if he leaves and they just promote from within since it's all the same philosophy.

It was a mix. The officiating left a lot to be desired. There was one abysmal call against us that was a block 100%. Mallory gave the refs an earful on that one and got an immediate makeup illegal screen call on the next possession. The other charges looked legit. A couple of the offensive fouls were illegal screens. Overall, just a really poor performance by the team.
