  1. I watched a player post-game interview. She said something about how going 40-1-0 this season toward a national championship is still what they're looking for. She also mentioned that they "dominated" for 40 minutes. I wasn't able to watch, but that wasn't the feeling I got from following the chat. It sounded like race-horse hockey until probably the last 7:30 of the game. I'm very interested to see how Minnesota will continue after this. A streak like that can do a lot for confidence and can be a hindrance as well. It would be nice to see Minnesota look "normal" for a while. There were games during their streak they probably didn't deserve to win, but somehow got the bounces. I don't mean that in a disparaging way by any means. The games went the way they went, but it's nice to know that they're beatable. I've followed very closely and I didn't care who beat them this season. I'm sure there were a lot of people in the women hockey world last night that became UND fans if only for a night.
  2. UND's live chat: http://www.undsports...TCLID=209311947 There's online feed for a fee at www.gophersports.com Free audio at gophersports.com (think you have to sign up) I've been following the live chat.
  3. Much better showing today. 6-1, UND with 7 minutes remaining.
  4. From the box scores Friday: 1166 Saturday: 1130 Not bad numbers, in my opinion. Last year with the twins, same time of year against SCSU they were pulling 1350-1400. The twins were a draw, but I thought it would drop a lot more than that.
  5. Just friendly observation. Cycling, obviously, isn't the only way to operate the power play. I'm an optimist. I think it will get better.
  6. Pretty sure Miami got a SOG during UND's five minute power play before UND did and it came at 1:30 into the PP. I'm trying to chalk it up to a younger crew and needing more practice. I hope it gets better. The percentage might be there, but from the games I see they can barely get it to the offensive zone let alone set it up to cycle.
  7. She doesn't really need to see them. I'll pull up my DVR recording and Vine/Instagram video them to her.
  8. I'm anxious and nervous for this weekend against Miami. I've been hating them for over a year now in preparation of this weekend. I've had my "rival" hat on for a while.
  9. As I was one of the the people who ordered tickets only to be told those tickets were not actually available, the gentleman who called said that the first row of the upper section would be like sitting in the first row of club level at the Xcel. He also told me that the lower section at TC does not have as many rows in it as the lower bowl of Xcel. I was also told that all of the lower bowl, center ice sections were sold out through the pre-sale which is why they weren't available.
  10. Or Put Your Hands Up In The Air. I usually detest songs that ask you to do something. I loved it when a small section of students would just put their hands straight up in the air during that song and not move them. They just put their hands up and held them straight in the air. I laughed every single time.
  11. Now you're talking. I have nothing else to add.
  12. Mittens played for UND this season?! Holy moly!
  13. I know this is all a debate about what people define as successful, but I like what's written there. That's a pretty strong 17 years. Even if you break it down to Hakstol alone, it's still strong, in my opinion.
  14. See! Silver lining. But we still have to listen to Hammer. Correction: mute.
  15. Welp, I'm ready to move on! How many days until the puck drops? I've got to find the silver lining somewhere even if it's days away.
  16. Clearly an NCAA violation. Those bastards at BC get all the advantages!
  17. Frozen pizza and a glass of... milk. Livin' large!
  18. I don't know why that word isn't censored on SS.
  19. Lost a bet to me. I should've bet him that we were going to out the first round of the WCHA this year, but didn't. I did bet that CC couldn't hold the lead. I was wrong and paid up at McGov's!
  20. Derek Koenen was at Ridder for the game as he is the women's hockey SID. Outside of posting tweets he has a lot of other duties that need to be done, especially when they're on the road. When the women's team is at home he has more assistance and interns to help tweet and contribute to the live chat when he's away from his computer (intermissions, etc...). In an overtime game, especially one like this, he is likely on the edge of his seat waiting for the moment he will have to run to ice level. I'm not excusing what some might think is poor coverage, I just don't necessarily agree. Follow @UND_WIH on Twitter. Idalski always has someone tweeting some play-by-play action. I will be the first person to admit that I was incredibly peeved when The Ralph took the game off with 50 seconds left and UND going on the PK. I sat in the stands of the men's game refreshing my Twitter feed like crazy waiting for something form either UNDWhockey or UND_WIH to the point that my battery was dead by the end of the night -- and I had a backup battery source. There are ways to get the information. I wish, like most other people here, that UND had won the game. Even though they played extremely well and statistics can tell the story, the game goes down as a loss and that's unfortunate. I look forward to seeing what happens next year, bumps in the ride and all. I also look forward to knowing that Raty is graduating.
  21. UND didn't get a full five minute major as there was a call against UND which negated most of it. I've been told the five minute major call was a little weak, as was the call against UND to negate the power play.
