  1. I thought 25 minutes of the game they looked completely gassed.
  2. You never know about that for sure! It will just be a while before they're eligible to suit up for UND.
  3. I'm not sure this is 100 percent a fair statement. UND played two more games than some of the teams in the tournament and four more than others in the tournament right now. Are there games UND should have won? I bet they would say "Absolutely." But I think that the idea that they were barely sneaking in when they played in the WCHA and had nine losses (4 to Minnesota and 3 to Wisconsin) speaks volumes. I would put this year's women's team against any of the other teams in other conferences. Will there be a drop off next year? Absolutely, but there are talented players and due, in some part, to the Lamoureux sisters they have been able to recruit top talent that wouldn't have looked UND's way five years ago. Bringing in Peter was a great move because he's been able to recruit internationally as well. Having a Monique and Jocelyne Lamoureux on any team, let alone UND's, are few and far between.
  4. Have to figure out a way to solve Raty. She hasn't allowed a goal since mid-February against BSU.
  5. The women's post-game press conference was sad. Lots of emotion from Idalski, Karvinen and MoLam. Monique said that she doesn't think that some people understood when they transferred how much being a part of the Sioux tradition meant to them. I sure hope they get one more game even if that means going back to Ridder.
  6. Ohio State down five goals against the Gophers. Looks like it's definitely a Sioux/Gopher rematch tomorrow (same as last year).
  7. Schlossman said that WCHA awards are not voted on by media like in men's hockey. They are voted on by coaches, assistant coaches and team captains. That would probably explain it a little.
  8. Monique first team Jocelyne and Michelle Karvinen second team Jakobsen third team Dufault rookie team Jocelyne Outstanding Student Athlete of the Year for the second year in a row.
  9. Monique made first team and Jocelyne did end up getting WCHA Outstanding Student-Athlete of the Year, although I believe Monique has a higher GPA, actually.
  10. As a rundown: Minnesota has been undefeated since February 7th of last year, the WCHA Final Face Off is at Ridder, the Frozen Four is at Ridder and all three Patty Kaz finalists are from Minnesota. At the risk of sounding a little bitter, I don't know why any other women's team even bothered playing this season.
  11. Top three finalists for Patty Kaz were announced today; all three are from Minnesota.
  12. Little Miss Can't Be Wrong is all right, too.
  13. In the Wisconsin presser (I follow their women's hockey twitter), they believe that even if they lose to UND they will get into the tournament. Right now they're tied with UND in the Pairwise. UND is viewing it as a must win otherwise they will not make the tourny.
  14. The ladies sweep and punch their ticket to the Final Face Off in Minneapolis. Monique Lamoureux with four goals today proving, once again, how silly the Patty Kaz nominating coaches look.
  15. Well, even with the few flurries, this game has still been slightly more exciting than watching paint dry.
  16. No kidding. At one point during the first period the dude said "Welcome to Big Ten hockey!" even though there was no action.
  17. Can I add: ~Power play.....ufff. Sure they scored one, but there was a lot of ugly. Two points tomorrow.
  18. Gotta give it to Gwoz, at least he always puts on a show. I think it's usually a fun match up when UND and DU meet.
  19. My thoughts as well. And the announcing team called that game a "doozy."
  20. With the win over Ohio State last night, the ladies clinched home ice for the play-offs.
  21. Midco didn't show it on the ice. There's a photo in this thread. If there's video of it, it would be from a fan at the game last night.
  22. Upload it to tinypic.com, copy and paste the code
