  1. Yeah...the next time the Wild beat the Avs, it could be at The Ralph Sorry, I had to do it ...That was one of the best games I've ever seen. The Avs scared me a couple times there.
  2. WOW...only lost by a goal to Shattuck, that's hard to do. The Sioux should definately take a look at this kid, and some of his teammates too perhaps. I wouldn't be averse to having aother Notermann on the team (well relative of Notes anyway)....looks like they have a good hockey bloodline going on
  3. They didn't announce anything at the games this year, so....I guess not
  4. The Wild website doesn't have next years schedule up yet and there is nothing scheduled at TicketMaster I hope they do have another one though
  5. Me too, though I will graduate next year...maybe we could fly the Devils around, I'd change my Eastern Conferece team (currently Buffalo....quiet, They were my team since the North Stars got stolen from us) to the Devils if they gave me a job as their pilot:)...maybe Hale can put in a good word for us
  6. Flatspin is absolutely right...tonight will be great OLD TIME HOCKEY All three games could go either way, the only problem is what game will be watched, either game you pick will be a fight. I said Wild in 7 also, BEFORE the playoffs started...I'm sticking to it BTW...you can email Kiszla at sports@denverpost.com, if you feel so inclined to let him know what game is being played tonight.
  7. HaHaHa....Game 7, yeah we really don't belong on the ice with them do we Kiszla. That's why we just forced a game 7, jacka$$. "With all due respect to Detroit -- or, actually, to its temerity in copyrighting the term, Hockeytown -- the Twin Cities are the United States' true Hockeytowns. Lecturing too much about that would be condescending. Everybody knows about the area's deep-rooted amateur hockey history, right?...The Twins Cities is the best hockey market in the United States, hands down." -espn.com From Minnesota hockey fans to you Kiszla...Kiss off!!!
  8. I disagree...I think that staying the extra year or two in college makes the transition to the AHL and eventually the NHL easier. There are of course exceptions like Dany Heatley, who the way he's playing now didn't really need college. Staying gives you more time to build muscle, speed, and other skills. However, with the type of cash being thrown at guys today...who can blame them.
  9. Always have been...always will be (I'm speaking as a former Minnesota hockey player myself)
  10. Stevenson is also not eligable because the Sharks didn't make the playoffs. I think Sejna will see quite a bit of time with the Blues next year, or he'll be ripping up the AHL with Panzer and John Pohl for the Worcester IceCats. Here's a question for the Gopher fans...will Riddle be joining the others in Worcester by signing this summer?...or will he comeback for his senior season, personally I think he'll stay.
  11. Babington-Johnson an OLB? He went to my high school his freshman year and at the end of the freshman season, he played up with us on varsity. I remember him as being a runningback with great speed and cutting ability, but couldn't hold onto the football to save his life. If he has learned how to do that at DeLaSalle, I am amazed he didn't go D1 as an RB, but I can't really picture the kid as an OLB. Lennon might think about looking at him in the backfield as well as on defense, unless he still hasn't learned how to hang on to the ball.
  12. actually it's cost them Vanek and Ballard...Paul Martin will be gone after next year, due to Hale signing with the Devils already (shows who they wanted first )...Potulny will be the next to go And Greyeagle...the sandbox is not empty, there are still toys in it that belong to the Gophers
  13. Maybe the 2003-04 hockey NC schedule is the reason that UND isn't shelling out for the football schedule, and why we had such a NC cupcake schedule this season (hockey). They we're saving up to bring in the BCs and Yales . On a serious note, I would like to have seen UND play a tougher non-conference schedule during my tenure here at UND. I'm sorry, but seeing another Crookston massacre doesn't appeal to me very much. Oh, it's fun until we're up 35-0 at halftime...then it just gets boring and repetitive.
  14. Welch isn't the best...when will you goophers play nice You guys are just gonna start naming players starting at the bottom aren't you?...Ha, I'm too smart for you guys
  15. I find it hard to believe that it will cost more for UND to renovate the old Engelstad than it will to build a new facility. Where is this money for a new facility coming from because as I understand it their looking at building a new baseball field as well? Who knows, maybe I'm smoking something
  16. Smieja doesn't count either...He has to your best player (game player...don't give me the "He's the best in practice crap.") So who is it?...we're waiting.......
  17. The NCAA Ice Hockey Committee is considering a change to the NCAA Tournament Selection Process. I think it is agreed that an objective-based system is best as subjective-based ones are subject to bias. It seems that it will come down to 3 methods to chose from. The first is straight KRACH. 1-16 on the KRACH ratings make the tournament (well 14 if you add in the MAAC and CHA auto-bids). Second is using KRACH along with other criteria to break close calls. The third is using the Pairwise, which is used right now. This is at least how I understand it. My opinion is to use the KRACH with limited criteria to break close calls. I don't think that down the stretch games should be a factor as less importance will be placed on the begining of the season, but record against TUC's should be one. *Note to Duluth fans...no matter which system is used, Duluth still doesn't make the tournament. In fact according to USCHO, you wouldn't have been close. The beneficaries of these changes would have been Providence or Michigan State. The changes would also only have affected North Dakota's seeding, as they would have made the tournament either way as well. Here's a link to the article: The Last Change
  18. I should mention, however, that I am greedy bastard...and I want a frickin Cup
  19. I have to say that right now I am very satisfied with the way the Wild's season has turned out. To make the playoffs in only their third year of existance is very good. Then to take a team with the skill and depth of Colorado to at least six games is pretty amazing (winning both of them at the Pepsi Center too). I must say I don't have any complaints about our season.
  20. There was a baseball team up here?...Come to think of it I don't even know where the baseball field for the Sioux is now. On a nother note...Midway Stadium in St. Paul is used as a football field during the off season for the St. Agnes Aggies. I got to play there once...pretty neat experience. Maybe if they built one up here it could be used as a football field for a local area high school, in the off season.
  21. Your right...the only reason that the Leafs are still in this series is Belfour. This is a very physical series and I think that Philadelphia has the edge in this one. I'm looking for the whole JR vs. Tucker, Domi, Roberts, Mogilny, etc... thing break out in game 6. Who else saw Domi go after a Flyer their bench? I thought that was pretty funny. He (Domi) looks like an elf.
  22. HaHa...I think we want the same player gone either way
  23. Yes it would. I would like for the first home playoff win to be this year. There are some really good series this year...Dallas and Edmonton are now tied at 2 in the second with Dallas leading the series 3-2, Philly and Toronto...nuff said about that one, and Vancouver just brought the series within one (down 3-2 now) with St. Louis. Tampa Bay and Washington is a hell of a series, also. The only two that haven't been this year are New Jersey-Boston and Detroit-Anaheim. Even Ottawa-NYI series were 5 great games.
  24. Sorry, Flatspin is right...Erickson doesn't count. Needs to be a player that actually played. We wouldn't count Palmiscino, and he even dressed a few games. Like I said MY thread, MY rulez...Vanek or Potulny has to go, take your pick
