That's something we have to remember, only the freshman class this year will have playoff eligibility all 4 years of their career, the kids who have been here are only going to have 1-3, and that may have cost UND a few recruits each year. As I said before, this transition won't be truly done until 2015. BUT, I still think next year will be the sink-or-swim year for the current coaching staff, with 7 home games anything less than a FCS berth will be considered a failure by most.

I would think having a pro team in the same sport in the same city would sway a few recruits that way, if football is currently the biggest part of their life that should be a selling point. As far as them getting no help recruiting from Minnesota...what? You're telling me with 5 and a half million people in the state and one upper D1 football school they can't find enough players to make them competitive? Don't tell me there is none because Montana doesn't even have a million people in it and there are at least 8 guys playing in the NFL right now from here, so I don't buy that excuse for a minute. EDIT: I just looked, there are 42 Minnesota kids on their roster and 30 are either freshman or sophomores, so apparently Kill is doing a better job of landing the top Minnesota recruits than Brewster did, which should help down the road. Brewster almost destroyed that program.

I just can't get over how bad Gopher football continues to be, they have a pro team in the same city and the whole state to recruit from yet they can't land enough decent recruits to be competitive...their fans have to be beside themselves.

Maybe this has been mentioned somewhere else, but I see the BSC had a press release tonight that the officials missed a penalty on UNC on UND's final offensive play, the infamous 4th and 1 at the 34. UNC had 12 men on the field, but neither the refs or apparently UND caught it and the play ran through, they must have picked it up reviewing the game later. Am I wrong or wasn't that coming out of a timeout? Who has too many men after a timeout? Yeah it could have easily been a goose egg, hopefully they're having a good week of practice.

It's going to take a little time for not only our guys to get used to Berry's system but for Berry and Hak to totally get on the same page, let's not forget that Hak and Eades worked together forever and understood what the other was thinking and what the overall philosophy was, there has to be at least somewhat of a learning curve between the coaches too. So while the defense has not looked too fluid and comfortable so far, I think we should climb off the ledge for a while, maybe the flat-footedness and cautious advance is being caused more by not being totally comfortable adjusting to a new coaches gameplan than being slow and lazy like has been discussed on here recently. I'm hoping that's the case anyway.

That is a nice looking jersey, might get ripped for this but I wouldn't mind seeing the green as the alternate color or at least closer to a 50/50 split...something about a black uniform just says 'badass'.

Looks like EWU got a decent draw, some on Bisonville were hoping to avoid another game with SDSU so they won't be real happy, never easy to beat a decent team twice.

I'm glad other people are figuring this guy out, everything he posts is to stir up trouble or support his campaign to fire all the coaches. Seems last years preseason memo from the league regarding CFB's has been forgotten a little bit, I don't know about every team but it seems to me like we've been involved in more than usual so far.

Usually the head coach has control over assistants, so it will be up to him to make the moves (I believe). But, with him fighting for his coaching life right now, it would be moronic not to shake things up and try to save his job past next year.

Yeah I think that's fair, giving up a ton of yards in any particular game is going to happen over the course of a year regardless of how good your defense is, it's how you react and make changes for the next week and the rest of the season that determines your worth as a defensive coach, and there has been no significant improvement here from the first game.

Next year will be UND's first real chance at the FCS playoffs with some experience under their belts and 7 home games, there is no way they keep him if the problems of this year show up again. But I expect him to be back one more year, maybe with some new defensive coaches.

The reality is we were probably fortunate to get the tie, for a struggling team on the road they sure peppered Saunders.

Well hell. This might be the week we get the Saturday W, Hak and Co. cannot be happy how this one played out.

Really surprising getting outshot this badly by these guys, didn't see that coming at all.
