Hey there's always next year...Act 52.
-
Finally found it, it looks like the total revenue was about 9 miilion with 1.6 M coming from direct institutional support and the rest coming from football-only sources. The expenses were about 5.7 M and seem to cover everything including a 900k facilities maintenance charge (I can't think of what they did) and a 500k other operating expenses charge. Looks like they used student fees, royalties and advertising, and 1.9 M of the contributions to cover what they term 'non-program specific' fees like support staff, facilities maintenance, etc. for all sports offered at the university, so it looks like football money funded a good chunk of that too. Looking at it football was the only program that even came close to making money, the next closest one was women's golf at a 112k loss. Men's hoops lost 226k and women's hoops 443k.

The Montana Board of Regents released some information regarding sports revenue last week, the Griz football program posted a $3.3 million profit and the Bobcats posted a $1.15 million profit for fiscal 2012, does anybody know what the numbers are for UND and NDSU? Also the bottom line for the hockey team, I would think that would be a big number?

I agree with all that, I don't trust Atlanta from past experience but they do play well at home so we'll see if Wilson can do it again, the other game should be a great game, I like SF's chances better with Kaepernick and Gore might give GB trouble but the SF defense has not been as shutdown as they were last year and GB should be able to put some points on the board.
-
It was over after I saw Webb throw his second pass...I knew they would score little if any. Once GB realized they didn't have to respect the passing game it was over for Peterson too. Crappy way to go out but that's the breaks, now I REALLY wish Frazier would have let Webb play in a few of the blowout games, at least he would have had a little work going in.
-
They've lost a lot of face which they can't really afford, I'll be interested to see how hard the league will spend money on fan-friendly promotions trying to smooth this over. I don't watch a lot of hockey until the playoffs, but I'm glad they didn't scrap the whole year...that would have set the league back years.
-
And congratulations to NDSU, that is how football is supposed to be played.
-
The two divisions have been Division 1 since they were created in the 70's, they were called Division 1-A and Division 1-AA, then changed in name only about 5 years ago to Division 1-FBS and Division 1-FCS. Nothing has changed from day 1 except what they are called, and everybody knows the difference so who cares? The names are probably going to be tweaked in the near future when their little "couzins club" championship starts, so it might be a moot point.
-
I'll try this one more time now that the game is over and the trolls have settled down. Thurman looks like the biggest catch in the sea for secondary help on UND's radar, would be a major grab.
-
For those who saw it before I deleted it, I apologize for my earlier post, it went too far. It's no longer worth the aggravation having to defend everything that UND says or does against the NDSU #butthockey crowd, I wish we had a hockey program like UND to go with our football program at U of Montana but I guess that's illogical too according to some. Been great posting here, take care all and go Sioux (yeah I meant Sioux).
-
No, that was you guys running your mouths too, actually started by you and flamed by JohnBoy, in response to nothing that pertained to NDSU.
-
I don't understand why all the NDSU guys are posting in this thread? On every frickin page? Why do they give a sh^t? It has nothing to do with their school, it's not even the same conference. Get a life.

I think Houston will be pissed and win this one easily, then get drilled in the semis. GB should cover...I can't see them giving up 200 yards to AP for the 3rd time this year...but the bet might be over, I see a 34-23 kind of game. Baltimore should be able to slow down Indy with Lewis back, but if Luck can put them down Flacco has been known to choke...tough call but I might take Indy getting the points. The last game is the most interesting, everybody is wondering if Seattle really is as good as they've played the last month or not...if they manhandle Washington on the road I will start to believe it. But as always, beware the home dog. Toss-up to me.

Opening lines: Houston -4- GB -7- Balt -6- Seattle -2-

After Tony Romo authors another Cowboy season ending in flames, the playoff picture is now set... AFC: 4:30 PM (ET) Cincinnati at Houston (NBC) NFC: 8:00 PM (ET) Minnesota at Green Bay (NBC) Sunday, January 6 AFC: 1:00 PM (ET) Indianapolis at Baltimore (CBS) NFC: 4:30 PM (ET) Seattle at Washington (FOX) Good to see 6 of the 12 playoff teams under the leadership of young QB's. AFC is going to be a dogfight, NFC could see a Wild Card team sneak in for the 3rd year in a row.

It has to be a concern for GB giving up 450 yards, Ponder had quite a few guys open he missed or it could have been worse yet. On the other side, Minnesota didn't stop GB at all the last 2 1/2 quarters, if the Vikings don't get Winfield and a couple more guys back in the secondary Rodgers might throw for 500. Should be entertaining next week if nothing else, I just hope the Vikings can give them a game at GB. Almost forgot, screw the Bears.
-
Peterson almost pulled it off but getting the win was the goal. 10 wins from this team is unreal. Probably get rolled next week in GB, but I never thought they would win more than about 5 games this year. Now if the Cowboys can get knocked out tonight it will be a great day all around. And how about those Texans? Geez what a fold job.

Denver game is just starting again on Root Sports.

I was just thinking about that, it starts at 2:30 here and I have the house to myself so I could sleep until football starts...hmmm.

Russia wins 2-1, Russia with a check into the boards toward the end gave US a good chance to tie it but they couldn't connect. Funny how Russia calls out Canada for being dirty players and then they open a Slovakia guy up with a stick to the face and this game they plant a guy into the boards face-first.
-
The TSN site has boxscores of all the games that day and a live boxscore of the current game. The US plays at 9 AM ET tomorrow and Friday, then 4:30 AM ET Sunday and 5 AM ET Monday.

I think you're right, even if he would have showed up I feel like he would have had one foot out the door all year and bolted at the first chance...it's his career choice but you can't build a program around a one and done player, I was irked at the timing but in retrospect it probably wasn't the worst thing.
