The officials have done this to themselves by getting drawn into arguments...make the call, get the guy to the box, if they don't go to the box in a timely fashion call an additional delay penalty, and drop the puck. It's not a debate, and the call whether right or wrong is not going to change. The coaches have the right to bark and ask for explanations on questionable calls, but there's no reason for a ref to listen to a players life story everytime he makes a call. Skate away and get the game going. If officials listened to all the crying that goes on from players and coaches in basketball or football the games would take 5 hours.

I guess I didn't know an appeal was pending, is there anything new being introduced that could possibly cause the Court to reconsider or is this just playing out the process?

On the radar it looks like Harvey to Devils Lake to Grand Forks are all going to get heavier snow any time now, it could get dangerous really fast if it's windy

It seems like if they keep the kids until a certain time, or they have the town kids only attend it counts as a day, if they cancel a day you have to make it up on a Saturday or lose a different scheduled day off. That's the way it seems to have worked in the past anyway.

That brings back memories, growing up in rural ND there were quite a few days that the 'country kids' got to leave school early on storm days, and the town kids would be mad because they had to stay. They didn't realize that we would have gladly traded staying at school another 10 hours a year rather than having to ride the bus 2 hours a day. They never did anything after we left anyway, you can't teach half a class.

Isn't Meindel penciled in as kicker? I saw a bio on him where they had him rated around 36th in the nation in punting and kicking so I assumed he would be kicking, maybe not.

My Dad would have called that 'getting too big for your britches'. I'm not sure scheduling that game if offered would be the best idea, playing NDSU between the 2 Montana's in consecutive weeks would be brutal. Makes me laugh that Bison fans are in an uproar over the mention of it, if I'm NDSU and have the chance to play UND in a one-time game at home considering they'll probably win easily I would jump at it.

That makes sense, the BSC should at least make them wear their black jerseys or pants at home, I watched the EWU/Griz game a couple years ago on a bigscreen in Missoula and I had a frickin headache by the time it was over trying to follow the action.

The other one I would add to that is EWU wearing their red uniforms on their red field, it's a bitch to pick them up on TV and I wonder if it takes the other team a second to find them sometimes. But they are wearing red everything where usually it's only the white jerseys on white ice for hockey and the helmets and breezers are different colors.

I'm always leery of a series like this...decent opponent who nobody is really talking about because everybody is looking at the Gopher series next week...easy to come in without much emotion and be a little sluggish early. Hopefully the focus is there from the first faceoff.

They're definitely way behind UM and UND there's no doubt, I was just throwing them in for effect. In reality it's worse than that, you're exchanging UM, UND, UW, CC, DU, UNO, UMD, and SCSU fans for Alaska-Fairbanks, Ferris State, Lake Superior State, Northern Michigan, and Bowling Green fans...it really looks bleak for attendance when you put it on paper.

That's always possible when they're listed as ATHLETE, we really don't know what they're planning for Disterhaupt either but I'm hoping they can sign some true DB's before the cupboard is bare.

Sounds like Ryan McKinley has narrowed his list to Montana, NAU, and NDSU and is visiting them the next 10 days. Getting pretty thin for DB's with offers, only 2 or 3 left listed.

I think they could beat a lot of FBS teams, I might drop the 30 down to about 40 looking at the Masseys but that still leaves about 85 teams they could either beat or hang with.
