  1. Google my ass, you won that for something didn't ya?!
  2. Montana named Robin Pflugrad (UM wide receivers coach) head coach earlier this week, solid choice with 29 years of college coaching experience.
  3. Saturday-Gregoire Sunday-VV
  4. I can't believe people still fall for this, also Pat McGroyn and Dick Zinnia make an appearance now and then.
  5. They hope the building will be ready for the return of clases on Jan. 11? It looks to me like the structural integrity of the whole right side is destroyed, it'll take quite a while to fix that, especially in winter. Wouldn't want to be the excavators insurance company on this one.
  6. "There is no f'ing way we lose to New Hampshire, if we do I'll put a bunch of fruit on my head and..."
  7. Here's the link to the tournament homepage, has recaps of all the games and fairly up-to-the-minute scoring. http://www.iihf.com/de/channels0910/wm20/home.html
  8. Well, it's -20 here with a wind chill of -40, but at least it's sunny so I guess I'll take it over what you guys are dealing with. I guess another day snowed in with family wouldn't be so bad, I'm sure nobody is going to run out of food today! Be careful everyone going home, whenever that turns out to be.
  9. On the Montana coaching subject, UM AD Jim O'Day said he has a list of 25 legitimate candidates, and he wants to have a coach in place before the start of the American Football Coaches Association convention which starts Jan.10. O'Day hasn't revealed any of the 25 candidates, but besides the ones that Witt mentioned (Pflugrad, Pease, Doeren) the most thrown around have been Alabama Offensive Coordinator Jim McElwain, Utah Offensive Coordinator Dave Schramm, and former Toronto Argonauts and Rocky Mountain College head coach Bart Andrus. One of these 6 seem to be the most likely successor, Doeren and McElwain would demand a significant raise from Haucks salary and Pease is also interviewing for the Offensive Coordinator job at Arizona State, so there are some issues within that group also. What does appear written in stone is that whoever gets the job will have UM or Montana ties, O'Day stated "To bring somebody in from the outside that doesn't even know where Montana is located or doesn't realize where the heart of the program comes from will not be a viable candidate in my eyes." They've set up a selection committee and met Wednesday, and will secure more information on the candidates over the holiday break and reconvene on Dec. 28. So as of today that's where it's at.
  10. There's not enough alcohol in the world to make that look good at closing time.
  11. Hopefully these guys having to suck it up while Genoway has been down will pay dividends down the road, it's pushed the learning curve a little faster than normal and should help for the stretch run if Chay returns. I hope.
  12. Death Valley of coaching, nobody has been able to win games in Sin City. Good luck with that Bobby. Papers should be interesting here tomorrow with speculation.
  13. How long does this contest run?
  14. Sioux Falls 8-0, 12:00 2nd quarter
  15. Well hell. Couldn't stop the run in the second half, was afraid that would bite us in this game. Played pretty well in the first half, if we could have mustered one score earlier in the second half might have pulled it out, but... Bridesmaids again.
  16. Still looking, anybody have a couple extras?
  17. I think the biggest reason for the lack of information is that nobody wants to be perceived as a 'bad guy' when this is all said and done, especially someone like the Summit. Better to keep quiet than have every statement you make dissected by all parties involved. Probably a smart move on their part, let the SBHE and UND deal with the backlash.
  18. Thanks, that helps get me up to speed on the whole Summit deal. Bad thing is they haven't really made any 'take it to the bank' type statements have they? Like you said, they may be talking to UND as well as other schools and rubes like us will never know, they've definitely been eerily quiet in the media. Maybe Centenary leaving them with an even number again has softened the timeline on their push to 12, maybe not. Would be nice to have some sort of inkling of what they are thinking, but like most every step in this nickname resolution process, we are in the dark.
  19. I haven't read this whole thread, so can someone tell me if the Summit has given UND any kind of deadline to apply by (with the nickname resolved)? If they haven't, it seems to me that with a matter of months left between now and the final deadline date (worst scenario) they are probably willing to wait for this thing to run its course, if they had someone else they were really interested in they would have probably moved them in by now. They know the nickname issue will be settled one way or the other soon, and we will gladly accept their offer whether we're the Fighting Sioux or something else. I think the closer we get to the deadline the less weight the "join the Summit now or be left out in the cold" theory holds.
  20. Yeah, what's the old saying, "Misery Loves Company"? I guess we're coming to visit. I'm not surprised we're only 1 point apart in the standings, but I didn't think it would be 6th and 7th place.
