I remember the first time I drove through Valley City and I caught the big FLICKERTAIL INN sign out of the corner of my eye, really looks like the F-bomb from the interstate.

Unfortunately I think they'll call everything that even resembles a penalty on us Friday, everybody in the world is expecting some kind of brawl and I'm sure the refs have been lectured about not letting things get out of hand early.

They definitely blew the last series. They had the clock in hand and the ball in field goal range, all they had to do was run up the gut 3 times, run the clock down to 1 second and kick the field goal for the win. Even if Peterson/Taylor don't gain one yard on 3 carries, they have a 50 yard attempt to win it, there was no reason to get cute on third down and juggle personnel which caused the 12 men penalty and forced them into a passing situation. They had the exact situation they wanted at the end of the game and they blew it by overthinking the situation.

This ends it, no more free lunches.

Have to agree with that, at least Cleveland had some SB caliber years when Kosar was there, Detroit has never looked like SB material unless you count the year that Washington buried them in the NFC Championship.

Yep, don't want this to drag on all weekend, get it over with and concentrate on winning the games.

Has anybody heard what Hextalls status is lately?

Regardless of what we all think are the reasons for the lack of scoring by the Sioux the last couple months, one thing is certain...this club is going to have to grind out wins in low-scoring games the rest of the way. Getting Hextall back will help, but it doesn't appear we can win any game where the opponent scores more than 2 goals unless it is against a very bad team, we've only scored 4 goals once since Dec. 4. Looks like we might be breaking out the Rolaids often the rest of the way.

Well said. I mentioned after the Denver series that our defense has been keeping us in games, but didn't do the legwork to crunch the numbers. After looking at this, can you imagine where we'd be if we didn't have the great PK unit and overall solid D that we do? Scary.
