  1. Touché
  2. sorry you got the wrong UMD asshole. I never wore a shirt like that and i never sat in the upper deck at a final five. I sat with a group of gopher friends blue line lower bowl every year. I am an asshole just not one of those assholes. CAW
  3. Sad I was left out Looking forward to seeing those Fighting Hawks this weekend!! Caw!
  4. You can get tickets half way up in the lower deck by the face off circles, and at center ice in the upper deck. Not sure what you expected? Especially since tickets have been on sale for several months through member schools.
  5. There is also a stick down the left side I didn't notice at first. Hopefully it isn't the jersey patch - those colors would clash pretty badly with most jerseys.
  6. Agreed. I almost bit right when I got the offer, but then I thought about some pimpled face intern thinking the "best" seats are on the glass or behind the bench. I think I'll wait til general sale so I can pick where I sit.
  7. I think time of day would have a lot to do with those numbers. If the hockey national title game was at 12 noon on a Saturday I'm sure the numbers would be much lower than the number they get in the primetime Saturday slot. Anyone have numbers for the first semifinal game usually played on Thursday afternoon? I'm sure those numbers are quite low. So much goes into TV numbers, it's hard to take them too seriously.. also have to consider what else is on TV at that exact time which would draw viewers away. College basketball is on their week break when the Frozen Four is on, so that helps ratings immensely too.
  8. There were waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more Sioux fans this weekend than there were Gophers fans for that series. I'd say half the upper deck was green on Saturday.
  9. You're looking at NBC Sports Channel. (formally Vs) They have a double header with Gophers/Pios as the nightcap.
  10. Confirmed. Old DECC lobby.
  11. The blue line club has beer - on the lake side of the arena - opposite the main entrance - just outside the gates - anyone can drink there. There is also the curling club in the skyway but you'll need to pay to get in there. Bulldog club and suite ticket holders have their own respective bars in the arena in a corner closest to the lake. Regular peons in the main bowl have to flask it. Enjoy the games - hope you like the arena - the upper deck is the place to be for great sightlines. Same degree of incline as the old DECC. Not nearly the atmosphere of the old DECC... much like when you guys moved from your old barn, and no amount of complaining will bring the noise/crowd/edge back because we now live in the corpy world, with commercials, advertisements on the jumbotron, and canned music. But it is much more comfortable without ceiling tiles falling, toilets overflowing, sticking to the chairs and floor, etc. so I guess that's a plus. I'm guessing it'll be like a Sioux home game in there - you always bring a huge contingent and it sounds no different this year. Hope you enjoy the bloodbath.
  12. Well said. UND is receiving venom once reserved for the Gophers, as now that's like picking on the slow kid in class.
  13. So watered down that five WCHA teams made the NCAAs and none of them were from Minneapolis or Madison. I think UND fans are noticing UMD jackwagons, because they become more visible when a team wins. You think UMTC and Bucky fans suddenly all became saints? No, but no one is bringing up them because their teams aren't relevant right now. Like numerous others have said, each fan base has them and that's never going to change as long as we let all people reproduce.
  14. UMD is #1 in overall PIM's but only #7 if you count WCHA games only. They had 33 mins one game against LSSU and 59 one game against Clarkson which really skewed the numbers. On second thought, maybe that proves your point even further, that the Bulldogs need to be careful with the non-WCHA refs. UMD doesn't like to play physical, their penalties mostly are a result of lazy play. It'll be a shootout I'm sure.
  15. He actually does about a game a week on ESPNU, though most if not all of those games are in the east.
  16. Not at the game, but Akins #7 is the captain so perhaps he was looking for an explanation of something??? No idea...
  17. If I remember correctly, that was the exhibition Hall of Fame game which is why it was allowed to continue. Can anyone confirm? I remember that HOF game - it was early in October and was about 80 degrees in Grand Forks - nothing like grilling and playing yard games then heading to a hockey game.
  18. They had to move the visiting bench across the ice when the WCHA added video replay. The scorers table had to be on the same side of the ice as the pressbox for whatever reason (probably couldn't wire it to the other side or something? - i don't know). It wasn't too long ago both teams were on the side where the home bench is now. The poor coaches had to walk all the way around the rink every period. I also remember the students throwing hot dogs down into the Sioux bench and Blais throwing them back up at them. Edit: ha - beat me to it iceburg!
  19. Both games are on Charter Mainstreet this weekend, which means they are on statewide on Charter, Comcast and Mediacom. Well, maybe not statewide for both games - just checked my TV guide and it says Friday's game is on but Saturday is not - I have Mediacom though.
  20. Highlight of the weekend so far. When he finally woke up the ovation was hilarious. "My liver hurts."
  21. Alaska-Anchorage I believe at the X.
  22. 'Tis true, but I'd like to add those were two series at Colorado College and Denver. tUMD has struggled with UND for the last few years, hopefully tDogs play defensive hockey like last years games in Grand Forks and sneak out with a couple points.
  23. This is what many on this board were concerned about - being labeled "hostile and abusive." you should be happy now.
  24. As others have pointed out, 3 years is plenty of time to buy the tribes support. Dig into those deep pockets.
  25. As someone said there is one place near the stadium to get a beer. Bulldog Pizza and Grill located in the Mount Royal center off Woodland Ave. It's not a bar though - it's a family restaurant. The closest place would be down the hill off 21st where The Reef bar is and Blackwoods Bar and Grill. The Reef is a classic bar, Blackwoods is nicer but has decent prices on booze though food is pricey. Oh yeah and no food at the Reef. Basically there is nowhere to eat or drink near campus. Hooray for bad city planning. Enjoy your trip. Hope to see tDogs keep it competitive but not betting on it. There is an Arby's, Subway and Erberts and Gerberts near campus but you're probably not looking for those type places.
