at the west regional a couple of years ago western had a small base there, not enough to fill a corner section though. also und plays the late game fri
-
I'm not sure we would catch ND in the pairwise even if they lose today. as far as HE goes it would be very beneficial to UND if Vermont and Northeastern lost today and New Hampshire loses in the semi-finals next fri.
-
this team would not be in the postion it is today if it didn't have a tendency to piss away games. IF they would have won just one of these piss away games they would have some breathing room no matter the result of tonights game: sat Vermont fri or sat home against SCSU sat BU fri SLU fri night BSU sat UNO at home sat WMU one game can be the difference between moving on or staying home after next weekend. last year Schloss had said that had not UND beaten CC in the springs that sat night in OT they wouldn't have made the dance last season. and how many times can a team outshoot an opponent by double digits or put up over 40 shots and not score more than 2 goals. this teamhas shown it can hold teams to 3 or less goals it just has a problem scoring three goals.
-
definate yes tonight or on fri. I think there would be a chance to still get in if they were to lose in the champ game. small chance but albeit a chance.
-
tomorrow the you are the committee and pairwisw predictor will be up on uscho and chn and we can figure all the scenarios
-
a win is an absolute must tomorrow, but like others have said it looks like UND will have to win the NCHC tourney. beating CC tomorrow will not give them any breathing room as their RPI will barely move and beating any of the other teams left won't move it much either to allow any room for a loss.
-
BC topped ND 4-2 today.
-
also if that happens that increases the chance of another at large spot being taken by a non-top 15 pairwise team.
-
yeah look at their traveling fan base to fill one row at the target center if they advance.
-
root for all those teams to lose along with providence, minnesota state and yale. also root for them to lose again tomorrow(except michigan as they don't play tomorrow)
-
this miami team reminds me of michigan a year ago that came up just short of completing the run to the dance. lot of hockey left, but how would you like to be one of the top three seeds and have to face this miami team in the first round? UND could be season kllers..end CC's, end Miami's and end the next opponent's season in the title game.
-
yep, simply put providence beat a better opponent and got a bigger bump in RPI than UND did. one bright side of winning last night was not losing as had UND had their RPI would have taken a major hit. win tonight and stay where they are or maybe move up a spot or two depending on what providence and notre dame do. lose and they could possibly fall to that 14-17 range.
-
it had to be one of the most successful regionals ever, based on attendence and $$$ generated.
-
I believe someone at the ncaa said that the reason compton got it was that there were no neutral site bids for that region.
-
I think SCSU will beat Miami in three. however, Miami has known for well over a month that they would not get home ice or for even that matter win the league and would need to win the tourney to get in. I'm sure their focus and drive hasn't been that of a team in postion to get home ice or win the league. maybe they coasted the past month to get healthy and ready to go on a run in the tourney like michigan did last season.
-
cichy is an absolute idiotic punk ass. yeah let's chirp when in five games against your former team you go 1-4 and have a hockey career that is headed no where. best of luck you in the lower levels of pro hockey.
-
having lost 2 of the last 3 and only scoring 4 goals in the last 10 periods indicates the mojo from the surge has been lost and desperately needs to be found again. the last 3 games have looked more reminiscent of the first two months(at least offensively anyways). if tech took UND to three games last season, no reason to think CC won't do the same. UND in three, in which the only nice thing about winning a series in three games this season is there is no Thursday game this season.
-
don't you mean daily paycheck with the way he brags about it?
-
so off topic, but in 1980 they have two WCHA playoff series, go 4-0 and don't win the tournament??? how was the post season tournamnet crowned back then?
-
going back to 1980 and correct me if I am wrong, but every UND team that has a won the national title has also won the post season conference tournament.
-
some have mentioned that UND is lock at this point. that is not the case by any stretch. 6 conferences, six upset tourney winners and you will need to be in the top 10 to get an at large bid.
-
I think if they go 4-1 over the next two weekends at a min. and go at least 1-1 in minneapolis they could very well get into the 5-6 range. even then they could still move them to the west regional for atttendence purposes as like I said before last year proved they are no longer concerned about bracket integrity(at least when it concerns BC).
-
and knowing this is their only shot to get to the big dance.
-
bracket integrity means nothing to the committe anymore as long as they continue to have these regionals in places like cincinnatti. they need attendence to be the driving force to cover their asses for placing regionals in these college hockey hotbeds like cincy, fort wayne, grand rapids... The more people they get in st. paul the better($$$) this tourney will be for them.
