I don't disagree, but I can't see the NCAA backing down and AG doesn't sound like he really wants to go to court again over this. as much as i love the name and support it the best thing for UND and it athletic teams is to do what the NCAA says.

this will all be taken care of by 2013. it was supposed to be taken care of already but things got a little muddled this spring. my guess is this will be the last year of the Fighting Sioux as the legislation gave us a one year reprieve(sp).

but what do when a player doesn't want to be here anymore? not much. to me this sounds like the lslanders couldn't guarrantee him a spot on the big club and he thinks he is ready for the big club. this isn't even a case of big dollars being waved in his face, because going this route you are guarranteed nothing.

another nahl kid? is this desperation from hak that he isn't going to have enough bodies to throw out each night and he's just offering scholarship money to anyone that will take it? this is the downside of having extremely young recruits that you can't bring them in too early because they aren't ready. I also wonder if this is a sign gregoire may not be not returning.

I have no faith in that he will be staying. if it takes him this long to decide that is not a good thing. all past sioux players that have taken this long it usually doesn't turn out in our favor. in the weekly herald chat brad made a statement and I have no idea if this is what he has heard, is that if gregoire doen't want to play for the islanders he could pull a wheeler and drop out of school and become a free agent. that makes sense if it is taking this long.

well that sucks. with as accurate as you have been, I will just take it as it is true. that is a huge loss. next year will be a tough year no question as we lose a lot of scoring and all these people that think the freshman will just come in and put up 30-40 points easliy are mistaken. those types of years are not the norm.

I saw that hextall said another brad miller time episode will be coming soon, wouldn't it be something if he took that forum to announce he is coming back. hexy's version of the decision.

based on my experiences on here in years past when it comes to players leaving early-usually when someone comes on here and says it has happned or will be happneing very soon-it usually tends to be true. So I don't discount yellowknife or sioux rube.

I'm guessing this is for the women. as the ice breaker will be the opener for us other than the manitoba exhibition. the sioux women have a return trip out there being bu came here last year.

If Hextall does leave I think the major reason could be the injuries he has battled since he got here and figures it could be now or never to get a decent payday. that said I'm not sure I see him making it to the big club anytime soon. as much as I hate this time of the season and kids leaving early, you can't blame them. if someone came to me when I was 21 or 22 with a huge paycheck to come work for them and leave school a year or two early I would have jumped.

just no shows as tickets were still sold. no different then when they announce a croud of almost 12k at the ralph and there are about 2000 empty seats. tickets are still sold and money is made.

with what may happen this off season with graduation and potential early departures it really makes a person appreciate what happened this past season and what was accomplished despite coming up a little short at the Frozen Four. It really reminds me of what wisconsin and denver had happen to them last off season.

agree. however, should JG,Hextal, Blood and Kristo leave you will have no real proven scorers returning(knight is more of a set up man) and a bunch of grinders with an unproven freshman class. we would go from having four d coming back with 2 freshman on a regular basis to 3 vets and 3 freshman-ouch. geez, we go from a senior class where no one left to one that could postentially be just 2-eids and mario from a class of seven at the start.

and kristo would be the one that stays? doesn't make sense.

I said it in an different thread but next year really could be a rebuilding year.
