  1. Yawn. Who has the best tradition? What jerseys are the prettiest? What arena is the best in hockey? These arguments never get old. Even the most die-hard Sioux fan would recognize the tradition that is Gopher hockey and I'm sure most Gopher fans appreciate Sioux history. It's these d*mn bandwagonners who keep stirring things up. Now let's all join hands and sing "We are the World" together, ok?
  2. Oh here we go again, Gopher fans. Hey, can anyone tell me who Minnesota's Mr Hockey was this year? Oh that's right...because he's going to UND diminishes the importance of the award, whereas in years past, it was just a given he was going to the almighty 'U'.
  3. How about a "turn-back-the-clock-avatar day" where scantily clad babes are allowed for 24 hours?
  4. Need MORE cowbell? How about FASTER cowbell?
  5. With all due respect, you can throw out that Final Five third place game, right? It didn't matter anyways and certainly didn't set the tone for the re-match in the national semi-final game.
  6. But 0 for their last 2.

OK, why don't we make it an option to wear a batting helmet in baseball or an option to wear a football helmet in the NFL? Standard equipment is pretty much a must in any sport, sorry to say. Is someone now going to argue that constitutional rights are being violated, too?

Had Donald Brashear been wearing a full facemask or shield, the McSorley hit would have left him with nothing more than a big headache. Your comments earlier seemed to promote that type of thuggery in hockey. After all, isn't "arrogance" and "swagger" what it's all about? You want arrogance and swagger? Go watch the NBA.

Yes they do, yzerman19. So go back and re-read my comments. I never called you "dumb," I called your comments "dumb."

Yea, you're right, yzerman19. So shut your yapper about the Paukovich hit, huh? Clearly that kind of arrogance and remorseless swagger makes better athletes on the ice. And while we're at it, why don't we give Marty McSorley and Todd Bertuzzi Hall of Fame plaques instead of villifying them. I've read some dumb comments on here, but yours take the cake.

The MacNaughton Cup is a classic. Now the Broadmoor Trophy? Sheesh. I have a free-throw shooting contest trophy from 5th grade the size of that thing.

    CHA

For those who don't know how Alaska-Anchorage got into the WCHA, it was by agreement with the NCAA that the WCHA and CCHA would accept one of the Alaska schools. I'm guessing you might run into stiff opposition to getting rid of Alaska-Anchorage from other AD's in the conference. Personally, I want to see them stay put. Tossing them would be a death knell to the program. They've put together competitive teams and one of the highlights of the 2003-2004 season was the standing ovation the SeaWolves received when they took the ice at the Final Five for the first time ever. That being said, I'm surprised everyone has overlooked the obvious: Michigan Tech moving back to the CCHA. Ferris State, Michigan, Michigan State, Northern Michigan, and Lake Superior State all in Michigan and all in the CCHA. It doesn't make sense for Tech to stay in the WCHA. The bad news, though: Michigan Tech goes, the MacNaughton Cup goes with them too.
  13. And we'd fly in Rachel from The Platinum Fox in Columbus for a series or two each year...
  14. Not that there's anything wrong with that...
  15. Well shizzle my bazizzle, Diggler, we agree on that!
  16. Is that a Britney Spears avatar? If so, I'm offended. Offended by her being married to that loafing loser Kevin Federline!
  17. Boy, isn't that the truth. People don't leave a movie before it is over, but they feel comfortable leaving a one-goal hockey game with 4 minutes left? I attended UND during one of the greatest comebacks ever, a 0-5 deficit to Northern Michigan w/about 10:00 left in the game. When the Sioux made it 4-5 with about 2:00 left, you could actually see about 3,000 fans coming back INTO the arena. They tied it up and the game went into OT, where, thankfully, it ended 5-5 as opposed to a 6-5 loss. The most unbelievable comeback I have ever seen and the reason why I never leave a game until it's over.
  18. Nail on the head, Hockeymom. The real "battle," (if you will) shouldn't be between the students and old-timers. It should be the true fans trying to get the casual fan more involved. I enjoy a drink now and then as much as the next guy, but does anyone else see a pattern between fans at REA drinking and then dozing off? I swear, the booze lulls people to sleep up there!
  19. Thank you, Sicatoka. As I said earlier, Sioux fans young and old enjoyed the Frozen Four and there was much mutual respect. I partied with 19, er, 21 year olds and 68 year olds on the same bus and in the same bars/beer tents. It was a blast. How to incorporate the "we're on the same team" theme into REA is the big question here.
  20. How good of a time you ask, cfm? My two buddies who ditched me on the trip and stayed here are looking forward to driving to Milwaukee next year. I told them to meet me there.
  21. I was at UND for The Farce 20 year reunion (I think it was 20). What a hoot those guys were. I even ran into some of them in Columbus. Again, those road-trip fans are the TRUE fans: Those who KNOW the game and RESPECT it.
