  1. Two part answer: A) I personally know the owners of the Hoggsbreath as they have sponsored by softball team for 15+ years. It's a nice, quiet venue on a Saturday morning in March. B) The Hoggsbreath is a quick 7 minute drive out of St Paul. The Bloomington Joe Senser's is a 20-30 minute jaunt to the Xcel Energy Center, depending on traffic on Shepard Road and parking conditions by Eagle Blvd. BigChief is right, the Bloomington Joe Senser's is a great place to watch the Sioux, but tonight, you'll be competing with NCAA basketball and other events, so it won't be the only gig on TV there.
  2. Update: I set up a Shutterfly account Sunday night and have plenty of photos of the SiouxSports.com team on there. If you PM me with your e-mail address, I'll be happy to send you an invitation to view the photos taken throughout the season. I also e-mailed a certain moderator-who-shall-remain-nameless-to-protect-his-identity an invitation. He may post a few pics on the site here if he has a chance.
  3. Lots of "maybe"'s and "I think I'm in"'s...but unfortunately, a small crowd this year. Too bad, you missed some good food and a welcome-sign to Sioux fans on the marquee!
  4. I'll be in section 102 row 9, right on the blue line to the left of the zamboni entrance. You will recognize me because my row will consist of me in my retro 1964-1971 white #19 Sioux jersey, my Lake Superior State buddy who is just there for the hockey, and my other four friends who will be drowning their Gopher sorrows in their beer all weekend.
  5. CONSIDERING IT? Dude, there will be plenty of fans there dying to meet someone with enough time to post 17,000+ items on this board!
  6. The more the merrier! I just want to give Tom and Jossie a heads-up before-hand because Saturday mornings are usually a bit quiet and I want them to be prepared for our arrival. Thanks!
  7. I'd be happy to give you a ride to the Hoggsbreath...provided you shower and clean yourself up a bit before getting into my truck. Just teasin'...you know I'm your biggest fan.
  8. The Hoggsbreath is located at 2504 Rice Street in Little Canada. It's about 10 minutes north and west of downtown St Paul. Take 35E north out of St Paul to Highway 36 west, exit at Rice Street and go about 1 mile north. It's on your right-hand side. We've typically met there at 11:00 am and left around 1:00 pm, plenty of time to get back to downtown, park, and hit the 3rd place WCHA game. NorthDakotaHockey, Sioux-cia, YaneA, as well as some "lurkers" from the board have come out and we've had as few as 7 or 8 people or as many as 20 chatting about Sioux hockey and sharing stories. Tom promised me last year the name on the Hoggsbreath sign and disappointed me when he got us confused with NDSU basketball fans. He won't let me down this time around. I do live in the Bloomington area and if YaneA and others are boarding the Al Pearson bus and need a ride, I'd be happy to assist you.
  9. Well, it's that time of year again...spring weather, St Patrick's Day, drunken Gopher fans looking forward to their team playing at the X, and the SiouxSports.com get-together on Saturday, March 20th, at the Hoggsbreath. I'm once again taking a head-count for attendance and have been told that Tom and Jossie will put something up on the marquee welcoming Sioux Hockey Fans or SiouxSports.com members. Who's in this year?
  10. It appears that if you have Comcast and are able to view regular FSN, that you will also be able to view the FSN "alternate channel." The web site doesn't have that channel listed just yet, but I prefer watching tonight's game from the comfort of my couch rather than have my 8 year old sit thru three hours of dad going crazy at Joe Senser's.
  11. MN Wild = Europe's Pride on Ice.
  12. Dude, you gotta be kidding me...FSN North isn't broadcasting tonight's game? WTF?
  13. The Kennedy Gold Mites play this weekend at 1:45 pm Saturday on BIG #2 and 11:30 am Sunday on BIG #3. Both games are against teams from Prior Lake. The Mite Jamboree is March 6th and 7th. The Kennedy Gold game-times will be 3:30 pm Saturday, March 6th and 8:00 am (ugh!) Sunday, March 7th. If you are interested in seeing the SiouxSports.com team in action, drop me a PM or place a post here and I'll help you out with directions and/or anything else you need. Thank you for your support!
  14. Ouch. I hope your back is ok. Just kiddin'...trying to add some humor into what's been a tough season. Win or lose, I'm still Sioux.
  15. Sorry for the lack of updates...life has been hectic lately. This past Saturday, the Kennedy Gold team lost to Eastview Black 8-4, however, when the score was 1-0, MafiaMan Jr. potted his first goal of the season to tie the score. Things fell apart after that, however, and the team was down 8-2 with 2:00 left before scoring 2 goals late to make the score respectable. My son had a gigantic smile on his face and raised his left hand in the air when he scored. Dad taught him well...to act like you've scored before, even if you haven't. Despite the loss, he was all smiles on the way home. I'll keep everyone posted on the mite jamboree and PROMISE to get some pics soon.
  16. I saw the LSSU Lakers give a stick salute to fans about 10 years ago after receiving an 8-0 pasting at the hands of Michigan. I didn't think it looked silly at all...it was about thanking the fans who watched the game.
  17. The Sioux were the #1 seed in 2000 when the tournament was in Wisconsin and the Badgers played the evening semi-final while UND played the afternoon semi-final. Yes, the rule has applied outside of the Xcel Energy Center, but only 1 Final Five in recent memory has been played outside of St Paul. That being said, it's time for the Minnesota rule to go. Funny that UMD won the Final Five last year, being the first play-in game winner to do so. However, had the Bulldogs had to play at 2:00 pm Friday instead of 7:00 pm Friday, my guess is they would have run out of gas.
  18. I'll let you know where I'm sitting. I think there's a knowledgeable Gopher fan in my section.
  19. Knowing the U of M, that comes out to $75 for the cost of the actual tickets...$125 for the cost of parking.
  20. Just so everyone's aware, since I took so much heat in the drama-filled thread about Favre's initial retirement from the Packers...I am not a Viking fan nor am I a Favre hater. I'm simply pointing out that people like DaveK continue to hero-worship guys like Brett Favre no matter what they do or don't do. Remember the ill-advised throw against the Giants a few years ago? DaveK gives Brett a flyer on that pick, which led to the Giants winning the NFC title. Yet here we are two years later and he's ready to lynch Aaron Rodgers over not completing a pass in OT and suggesting that Brett hits that throw 100 times out of 100. If #4 throws 5 TDs and 400 yards this weekend in a huge Vikings win, Packer fans will groan how they wish Brett was still in Green Bay and how he would have single-handedly defeated Arizona last weekend. However, if he throws for 150 yards and 4 INTs in a 34-17 loss to the Cowboys, I bet DaveK and other Packer backers will be surprisingly quiet or simply giddy that the Vikings lost, yet somehow blame the defense, poor coaching, the kicking game, or maybe the game-time temperature inside the Metrodome, rather than fault Brett Favre.
  21. Something Brett Favre has made a career out of doing...and how many times has the result been an ill-advised throw/interception? Plenty. To blame the loss on ONE PLAY is simply silly. If Brett Favre throws six interceptions this coming weekend, will DaveK still whine that he wishes #4 was still in Green Bay?
  22. Wow. I'm glad you're not my boss. The guy lights it up yesterday and is the QB behind a comeback almost worthy of Buffalo Bills/Houston Oilers legendary status...and you instead want to light him up over one missed completion. WOW.
