  1. Michigan in 10th in the CCHA and Michigan State in dead last. Wow...just wow.
  2. I'm just pointing out a few folks who fly off the handle while sitting behind a moniker on a message board who wouldn't have the balls to say such things should they walk by a player at Wilkerson or saw Hakstol at the library.
  3. Whoa whoa whoa, Goon, let's not let reason, common sense, and facts get in the way of spontaneous reactions to last night's tie. Obviously UND needs to fire Hakstol tomorrow morning, replace two of their three goalies, and re-join the WCHA because the team simply cannot compete with Miami, Denver, and CC.
  4. It's not really a 'new' league... MacNaughton was from the UP and owned a mining company. He was an avid supporter of amateur hockey. Read up on it...it's pretty interesting stuff.
  5. Yep, for truly honest up-front non-homer opinions on the Sioux, head over to GopherpuckLive. LOL!
  6. Yep, for completely non-homer reporting on the Packers, siouxvikes heads over to www.vikings.com and for unbiased opinions on the Republican Party, he reads thedailykos.
  7. James MacNaughton purchased the cup in 1913 for $2G's and awarded it to the champion of the AHA. It's 100 years old and I bet LSSU, Bowling Green, Ferris State or any other former-CCHA team would be PROUD to hoist it next season as the WCHA champion.
  8. I'm not sure YOU get it. UND can mope around for a week about 'woulda coulda shoulda' or the Sioux can prepare for St Cloud State. They blew a two-goal lead with ten minutes left in the game. I'll double-check my college hockey history, but I don't think that's a first.
  9. The entire point of my earlier tongue-in-cheek post was that Sioux fans were screaming bloody murder about how poor their team is and predicting doom and gloom the rest of the season. By that token, a tie on Saturday should have been perceived to be a good thing. Instead, those same fans were upset over the tie. The fact is, it's awfully tough to win at Mariucci.
  10. So for complete unbiased reporting, should I go login over at GopherPukeLive? Just an FYI, too...use of the 'R' word went out with the Carter administration.
  11. And my rebuttal was that it was immediately used as the CCHA championship trophy for three seasons. Do you have any idea how old that cup is or the history behind it?
  12. Yea, I got that much but you lost me with the 'CCHA went huh' comment.
  13. The 'old' Broadmoor is pretty sad...my kid has a mites baseball championship trophy from Bloomington Athletic Association bigger than that thing!
  14. WHHHAAAAATTTT?
  15. Yea, nothing says 'moving forward' like trashing your past. Keep the Broadmoor!
  16. The only thing confusing to me is why Colorado College is so willing to part with the Broadmoor Trophy...considering its the old Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs. It would kinda be like a Westward Ho Trophy going to Hockey East.
  17. Like x 100. The Ed Belfour Trophy? Seriously? LOL! Why not Aaron Schweitzer?
  18. Sioux players celebrating should have been a clue for the broadcast booth...
  19. Son, you've lost me... The WCHA commissioned the Broadmoor Trophy AFTER Tech went to the CCHA. When Tech returned, the Broadmoor was given to the conference playoff champion.
  20. Next time you see it, take a good look and you'll find Bowling Green's name on there three times.
  21. How about the Lucia-Alvarez Trophy?
  22. Precedent was set when Michigan Tech took the MacNaughton Cup to the CCHA for a few years in the 1980's...
  23. WOW! I didn't know that!
  24. "Wilcox with the save of the game...and maybe THE SEASON!" LOL...maybe the greatest WRONG call of the season!
  25. The custodian of the MacNaughton Cup is Michigan Tech. The cup will stay with the WCHA while the Broadmoor Trophy will come with Colorado College to the NCHC.
