  1. Last night's game winner was a PP goal by Bjugstad about a minute or two after a Gopher flattened DU's leading scorer with a stick to the neck (refs missed that call, though, of course).
  2. I am very surprised by that as SCSU simply needed a win to claim a share of the title PLUS they were at home. Maybe a nice send-off by the WCHA to not even have it on-hand last night should a soon-to-be NCHC team win it?
  3. That's a long ways away yet but the Wolverines seem to have that maize and blue swagger back.
  4. Are you kidding me? I will laugh my a$$ off when I see my SCSU friends if they choke this thing away. ESPN Classic SCSU to lose 3 in a row and blow it.
  5. I noted that above. Based on Bruce McLeod's past, I've got to believe that the MacNaughton Cup was inside the National Concrete Center somewhere last night just waiting to be handed to the Huskies.
  6. ...and SCSU I'm sure regrets not showing up for the Tech game last night too.
  7. I've been to two Final Fives at the Target Center. Gluek's and other bars there are packed with Friday pm suits who left the office early for the day. The average joe on the street won't have any idea what kind of sport your hockey jersey represents let alone what teams are playing. And INSIDE the Target Center? Let's just say you will miss the X.
  8. Correct. MacNaughton Cup champion is regular season points...tie-breakers determine playoff seeding. UND sweeps Mankato...37 points. Minnesota beats and then ties Bemidji...36 points. SCSU swept at Wisconsin...35 points.
  9. From 1949 until 2001, titles were few and far between for Boston College too.
  10. LOL...I have never heard a goalie losing a national championship game by a 3-2 score in OT referred to as being 'lit up like a Christmas tree,' but ok... Minnesota hasn't won a title in 10 years, almost as long as ND's 13. Wisconsin's was a fluke...regional in Green Bay and Frozen Four in Milwaukee. To me, it speaks volumes about the depth of the WCHA itself when you have five different schools with national titles in the past thirteen seasons. No other conference can claim that kind of success since 2000. They're not even close.
  11. I agree with you 100%. I think the Pairwise has become a little too easy to figure out and its quite possible that the integrity of the game has gone right out the window in exchange for getting healthy and a 'better draw' in the tournament.
  12. Lowell lost at home to UMass two weeks ago. Their season's over too.
  13. You missed the news this am...Coach Hakstol is scheduling a press conference for later today where he will announce that even if UND wins its opening playoff series, the team will decline the invitation to the Final Five and just call it a season.
  14. Nope, Miami lost on Friday to a terrible Ohio State team so obviously they don't have a shot to win an NCAA title.
  15. I know that too, but I was trying to point out the positive, LOL.
  16. I've seen Michigan play the last three weekends now and I have to be honest...I don't think ANYONE in the CCHA wants to run into Red's team come playoff time. The Wolverines are playing much better than they were earlier this season. Hockey East is anyone's game. Merrimack had Boston College on the ropes last weekend and blew it. Providence College has been a nice surprise this year too.
  17. Exactly. Some fans on this board went nuts after the home loss to St Cloud too. Why is it anyone not named Minnesota or Denver is treated like they should be playing with a skill level akin to that of the Bloomington Jefferson Squirt B team?
  18. I could have sworn it was CC but your memory might be better than mine. I was at the 1997 Final Five and the Frozen Four a few weeks later...greatest two Sioux memories of my life.
  19. The Beavers took 3 of 4 from UMD and Denver this year at home including a 5-1 thumping of the Pioneers in a Saturday night game. It's not an impossibility...
  20. Michigan State and Vermont, yes. Sparty did upset Western Michigan last night though.
  21. And Bemidji should just roll over because the almighty Sioux are contending for the MacNaughton Cup? Let me get this straight...Minnesota 3 sweeps and currently tied for 2nd = #2 in Pairwise and they should stay there. North Dakota 3 sweeps and currently tied for 2nd = players not playing hard enough? HUH?
