  1. The WCHA works in partnership with the Xcel Energy Center. Why wouldn't the WCHA want to try to get Big 10 fans to come to their tournament the years the Big 10 is in Detroit?
  2. Niagara is a good example...I think the CCHA may house another one.
  3. Or driving from St Paul to Bloomington after the '89 loss to Harvard?
  4. LOL...so the stick or elbow to the face (shown on ONE replay) wasn't enough for you to think that MAYBE a penalty should have been called?
  5. I was at Yost in 1998 for the "upset" at the hands of Michigan and its 6,000+ fans. What a total bummer that was.
  6. Close, but you missed the part though where Parenteau pushed him over so hard that the back of Knowlton's head smacked against the ice. The puck was long-gone when the hit happened.
  7. It's a bar-restaurant...don't be deceived by the name - the Hoggsbreath is a great place to bring the wife and kids for lunch.
  8. Yea, I've seen plenty of those things in Grand Forks as well. Mariucci isn't immune from them either as I saw a guy in cut-off jeans on TV during Saturday night's game. Good times. Hey bale (pun intended), you know Mankato fans are invited to the SiouxSports.com brunch too, right? You don't need to be a Sioux fan to attend. Granted, it helps, but you're welcome to come join us.
  9. I am in the vicinity, yes, but alas, I can't skate worth a damn. If you ever get a broomball game going though, I'm your guy! scpa, I just noticed you voted Saturday for the brunch...would you be able to make Friday if I went with that day? That's going to be the likely winner.
  10. You guys know where to find me on Friday or Saturday at 11:00 am during the Final Five...or just stop down in Section 102 Row 9 if you want to dump your beer on my head. I don't hide behind anything here and didn't exactly see anyone backing me up after someone called me a 'retard' and a 'douche' on siouxsports. Lighten up. BTW, you guys are most certainly invited to the Hoggsbreath brunch. We're all Sioux fans there...except for the occasional Gopher fan who shows up.
  11. That's a tough gritty team. Kudos to their head coach...he's done an outstanding job in the past two seasons there. The conference tournaments are going to be very interesting. I think some upsets may lead to a bubble team getting an auto-bid to the tournament and someone who is pretty sure that they're in is going to be sitting at home watching 16 other teams play.
  12. I heard from a friend of mine whose dad's uncle's ex-wife was at the game and he said the Sioux seniors were a total disappointment on Saturday night and needed to play harder.
  13. That albatross around their neck will get awfully heavy come Saturday night if they lose in WI on Friday.
  14. If the hit I saw Parenteau make was on Rocco instead of a DU player, this place would be blowing up right now.
  15. All kidding aside, the River Hawks are a solid team. Their coaching staff has done an excellent job over the past two seasons. That win over Miami in last year's NCAA tournament was no fluke.
  16. The Gwozzer had four legitimate gripes last night...goal waived off, Gopher goal that looked like it was kicked in, Minny penalty not called followed immediately by Gopher power play (and 2nd goal), and icing not called that led directly to 3rd goal...
  17. Any past attendees can insert comments here...
  18. Read the DP link I provided and see if you think it wasn't worth mentioning...
  19. The homer broadcast crew brushed over it pretty quickly too. DU player took a stick below his chin which put him flat on his back....then the back of his head hit the ice. He looked pretty wobbly as he left the ice. Also, the third goal was scored on what should have been an icing call. Officials ruled that puck hit a player at the blue line before bouncing off the boards but it clearly did not. Doug McLeod, watching the game with his maroon goggles on, promptly noted that 'those breaks even up eventually in a long season'. Denver Post article below describes hit on DU player... http://www.denverpost.com/du/ci_22707131/minnesota-gophers-pound-du-pioneers-5-1-wcha
  20. The one they scored on last night was HUGE though. I'm still looking for an injury update on DU's leading scorer. The back of his head slammed onto the ice pretty hard...not a penalty at Mariucci these days I guess.
  21. Agree X 100. I distinctly recall one Michigan player practically slap-shotting a puck from center ice up about 20 rows in the stands...still at center ice! If that's not delay-of-game, I don't know what is.
  22. You can also find Goon at the Hoggsbreath, bigskyvikes!
  23. RiverHawks taking it to Merrimack right now 2-0 after 1.
  24. EDIT: CHN app had score backwards. CBSSN referring several times to Lowell's six-game win streak. They beat Merrimack 4-0 on Friday. Looks like UMass-Lowell is your NCAA favorite!
