OK, Mariucci, you're beating a dead horse. Perhaps my point should have been to specifically point out Mark Rosen's comments and leave it at that. So would it be fair to say that in a few months, when Green Bay decides to retire Brett Favre's jersey, that Mark can blurt out "Former Viking Brett Favre will have his number retired by the Green Bay Packers tonight..."?

While I understand the local homer perspective, I still think a guy like Mark Rosen could have said something to the effect of "There are six current or former Gopher players on the Olympic roster as well as Jocelyne and Monique Lamoureux, who spent a year here at the 'U' before transferring to North Dakota for the remainder of their respective careers." I would have been happy with that.

Actually, the Albany River Rats had one of the coolest minor hockey league logos around... I'd make a few tweaks, like getting rid of the winking eye and silly rat-tail on the R, but I always thought this was a cool name and logo.
