  1. Maple Leafs totally choke away game 7...Washington doesn't even bother showing up at home against the Rangers...wow.
  2. Except that Goon and I actually get along and respect each other...

    Jerseys

I'd be interested...can you post a pic of the actual patch? Just had an autographed 1987-era patch put in a frame...will hopefully have pics up soon.
  4. Oh the wailing and gnashing of teeth on SiouxSports.com if the Red Wings happen to upset Chicago...
  5. Didn't you say a while back that you wouldn't walk across the street to watch Wisconsin play hockey...hours after literally walking across the street to the X to watch Wisconsin play hockey? Abdelkader's short-handed goal last night...yea...that was boring. Why don't you contrast the number of foreign players on the Red Wings with those on the Wild, the team that plays in the "State of Hockey." I bet you'll be surprised.
  6. I don't understand why you think the Red Wing style of hockey is so boring. This isn't the New Jersey Devils 1990's trap out there. They were down 3 games to 2 and had to win game 7 on the road in Anaheim. They deserve SOME credit, don't they? Detroit vs Chicago in the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs? Two original six franchises duking it out in a 7 game series? Is this not why you are here?
  7. Duck season ends early in Anaheim.
  8. O...M...Gosh! I miss Comcast.
  9. The previous game wasn't listed but I found it on CNBC. Last night's game was not on CNBC. Doesn't help that Dish apparently doesn't update 'American Greed' to let folks know they are going to show Stanley Cup hockey instead. Hell, they even had Heat/Bulls listed last night...when it was actually Knicks/Pacers.
  10. Stupid Dish Network...can't figure out how I got the Red Wings/Ducks last night but Penguins/Islanders not available on same channel tonight.
  11. Is the Penguins/Islanders game being televised?
  12. Word out of New York is that Charles Wang doesn't want to make any changes to Islanders jersey after move to Brooklyn. Problem is that arena management is urging a brand overhaul (a la New York Nets vs New Jersey Nets) because they don't like the idea of Islanders colors (which also happen to be New York Knicks colors) in the Barclays Center. It'll be a shame if the Islanders logo and jersey disappear from the NHL.
  13. Go Wings Go! Any more questions as to how cheap Corey Perry is, Goon?
  14. Umm...how about the trades for Leddy and the goalie-go-round in the past few years? Major role players from a few years ago were jettisoned almost immediately after the cup win (Big Buff, Kris Versteeg, etc.). This team is built around trades more than you think.
  15. They should. Heaven knows how many millions of taxpayer dollars went towards building both buildings...nevermind the new Vikings stadium and Target Field... http://minnesota.cbs...nt-on-stadiums/ http://minneapolisof...for-renovation/
  16. That's a reach. I'm pretty sure Indiana wouldn't want its high school basketball championships decided in Chicago (which is closer to folks in northern Indiana than Indianapolis is) and football fans in Oklahoma wouldn't exactly be fond of championship weekend being played in Dallas, TX.
  17. I used Minnesota as an example...Michigan, BU, and BC would be others...
  18. And if you're the coach of a team that typically plays in front of 700 fans and you finish in the top 8, you'd be opposed to 2-3 more games at home? Doesn't add up... I think you might be suprised at the BIGGER schools who want to keep the regional format, not the smaller ones. Why would Minnesota want to risk traveling to Quinnipiac or Yale when they can host a regional in St Paul almost every year?
  19. LA Kings...the champion won't go down easily.
  20. This part just stuns me. What segment of coaches could possibly be opposed to better attendance at a hockey game or weekend series?
  21. Defend him all you want, NY fans definitely got the short end of the stick in Wang's deal with DiPietro.
  22. Some of that has got to come down to coaching and telling players to do nothing. I realize that players will circle the wagons when a player has been injured, but a video replay of the initial incident clearly shows what is and should be considered a legal hit. I would hate to think of Montreal's team reaction if the hit in question had been a Robbie Bina-like cheap shot on a Canadiens player.
  23. I still can't believe he gets a pass on the 2009 Stanley Cup game 7 win over Detroit. You know, the one where he was too injured to play in the last half of the 3rd period but could skate around like a demon when it came time for the Stanley Cup presentation...
  24. I'm confused by Brendan's comments...the hit and penalty still makes no sense to me. And Montreal's reaction in the next game was simply wrong. Why wouldn't Corey Perry face a similar suspension? The lack of consistency is mind-boggling.
  25. It's best 2 out of 3...we'll see. I have said before that I don't see them firing Yeo...but the problem here might be the media and the fans. I told people on July 4th that the Wild would not win the Stanley Cup but friends greeted the signings of Suter and Parise with the attitude of "Stanley Cup or heads will roll". I'll be curious to see what happens. I don't expect his firing...but wouldn't be suprised if it happened.
